Another great review Rob. It's getting harder and harder to resist the lure of the Eeb for analogue mountain bikers like myself when bikes like this come on the market. The model you tested has a better component spec than my 2019 Orbea Rallon M Team for pretty much the same money and you're getting a battery and motor as well!
2nd review I've seen on this by you and a good one, thanks. I compared the 9 against cube stereo hybrid 140 sl a few months back. Hi Rob, how does the Render compare to the Swoop Hybrid? I have the Swoop and thinking about getting the Render but im not sure because the Render has less travel. How does the Gen4 Bosch compare to the old one?
Rob, whilst its nice to see these bikes almost nobody can afford, it would be ace to see some sub £4K EMTB reviews! Pleeeeeeease! Nobody is really doing this, I’m sure lots of people are looking to get into EMTB (perhaps like me after MTB cycling when I was younger) but aren’t going to be doing 20MPH downhills or looking to spend between £5k and £10k on a bike! What is the best ebike on the market for a shorter rider I have a 27.5 zesty medium frame wish I'd got the small just feel it's to big to throw it about like I want to like my old 26" wheel Dh bike ? I'm 5.6 and want a smaller bike nimble and am sick of hearing there going even bigger on ebikes now with most 29ers that's ridiculous for a shorter rider
Iain Richard Because it’s a Specialized... If they put the ‘Big S’ on a big pile of sh*t and their marketing department creates a story around it people will buy it and it will be the best thing after a slice of bread. 😜 When Lapierre came out with the eZesty it was criticized for its lack of power. The SL came out with even less power and it’s revolutionary, a total game changer... Just create a story around it, invite the media for a big treat, pay them and they will repeat your story and everybody will think that an underpowered ebike is the best. When they will find out that it’s very limited they will buy a proper Levo. Win-win for Specialized. 😂 This Radon is totally awesome for the price the 9.0 version is a perfection when you look at the components.
Very nice bike almost the same as Cube Stereo 160 TM but Cube is set with Fox 38 at the front. Price , spec , both made in Germany. Would be intersting to see comparison between them.
I'm very curious that nobody talks about the difference between bikes that have a vertical rear shock as opposed to bikes that have a horizontal rear shock. Seems like apart from this so many bikes are very similar.
You mention the DT SWISS HX 1501 SPLINE ONE 30 wheels, they're rated to 150kg. I'm the same height as you and weigh 130kg, how do you think I would go on them please? I do use a hydration backpack but I couldnt see it getting to 20kg in weight.
iam a little late but iam riding a radon slide 150 from since 2016 with the same wheels. with backpack and gear und hydration iam a little over 130kg had no issue with the bike or the rims so far. Even bikepark and little jumps did not break bike or rims. i think it will be no problem. Those Radon ebikes are rated for 135kg which means bike + rider. But ! Almost alle ebikes i checked (specialized Levo and many more are rated the same up to 135kg)
Sweet looking bike, not a fan of the old school spoke magnet , I'd expect better integration, frame sensor, disc magnet, on a 2020 bike, the plus point against other direct to consumer brands is that Radon have UK based service partners, this means that if you order through the closest to your location then Radon ship direct to them, they then build the bike up and test it prior to your collection, also they will then be your go-to for any warranty issues, YT and others could learn a lot from their service partner set-up.
I know what your saying about the Bosch Bar controls... i hate the one on my 2020 Cube 140 Actionteam ... i'm even thinking about fitting the other all in 1 style with the Display next to the Buttons.
@@RobRidesEMTB Plus there is soooo much info on the screen/Display that i just dont need or use... for me no Display would be better, like the Levo! And try using the "Walk assist" with Winter Gloves... its rubbish! Even with out Gloves its a rubbish systerm!!!

This Radon is totally awesome for the price the 9.0 version is a perfection when you look at the components.
@@tamasvarga67 LOL - well said, mate
i would really consider it at my next purchase !!
Strong choice
If you have to choose that bike against cube stereo hybrid 140 or 160, what bike did you pick up for your own use?
radon will be my next bike perfect thanks
Good choice!
I'd like to get one, but no shipping to USA
Do u use gopro max? Nice angle..
Yes :-)
Very nice bike almost the same as Cube Stereo 160 TM but Cube is set with Fox 38 at the front. Price , spec , both made in Germany. Would be intersting to see comparison between them.
Isn’t that latest bosh gen motor has noise or nock issues?
Yes, all of the Gen4 motors seem to have it on all of the bikes I've tried from differend brands.
I'm very curious that nobody talks about the difference between bikes that have a vertical rear shock as opposed to bikes that have a horizontal rear shock. Seems like apart from this so many bikes are very similar.
whats the best ebike you ever tested ? interested , am on a custom rail 9.8
Hey Rob... Nice Video.... I life in Cologne but i do not know where the trails are??? Could you add a google maps link ?
Es ist in Solingen ;)
Are the heavy to pedal when the battery goes flat?
Yeah it isn’t easy to pedal with a flat battery. I mean it’s possible but hard work!
I’m interested in buying one, how could I get one in USA
OMG 😱 you were at the Altenberger Dom (i live nearby) and at the Sengbachtalsperre. Too bad we didn‘t meet. I could have shown you nice trails 😁
Wonderful area with some nice trails!
Hi Rob....your still the best emtb reviewer on the planet...would you be able to range test the new 625wh battery...many thanks
haha thank you! I will try to do that, I'm interested to find out!
Love it! Would love this bike with a brose :)
Not sure that will happen, hardly see any bikes with a Brose motor being released at the moment.
Rob Rides EMTB but why though? Too expensive? New version coming? I don’t get it? It’s such a nice motor.
@@philippkellner4757 Probably cost and availability at a guess...
Bosch is best 👌🤭
mark5378 I don’t know. This rattling sound would make me crazy 😜
I Hope so Bad that i eventually get sponsored dy these guys😍🤯
I know what your saying about the Bosch Bar controls... i hate the one on my 2020 Cube 140 Actionteam ... i'm even thinking about fitting the other all in 1 style with the Display next to the Buttons.
I think its really difficult to use especially with winter gloves! The old style one is easier but just looks a bit... retro!
@@RobRidesEMTB Plus there is soooo much info on the screen/Display that i just dont need or use... for me no Display would be better, like the Levo! And try using the "Walk assist" with Winter Gloves... its rubbish! Even with out Gloves its a rubbish systerm!!!
Best values by far: This one, Bulls Estream AM 4, Commencal
Best ebikes I've owned: Rocky Mtn Altitute, Norco VLSight
Great Review Rob, but Radon is not in Cologne. Its in Bonn (dont know the englisch name of the city). I have the same problem as you have. 191cm tall, short legs and a long upper body. But maybe i go to Bonn to test it. It isnt far away from me anyways.
The Bike im most interesetent in atm is the Moustache Samedi Game. I hope youll do a review on this soon.
Cheers Florian, was close to Cologne! Go to the Bike Discount mega store they have them in there :-)
What trails are those in koln?
Check my Strava history (link in video description!)
Yep. Looks like this might be the one bike to rule thema all.... 🔥 Thanks for the clear review 👍🏻
Cheers Sander :-)
Where is Radon located ?? Also, what is the price in US dollars ?
Do they sell to USA?
Simplon Rapcon next?
Sounds interesting...
@@RobRidesEMTB Higher spec I think, full carbon. Great looks ;-)
Happy Radon owner here with my dentist bike build which cost nowhere near as dentist bikes cost😂
The speed sensor and the magnet can be put somewhere else.
Amazing look, components in all models. Just the geometry is compact and conservative.
Yeah, its definitely a bit compact for the taller rider.
Took a flyer Rob in January to order a 10 HD changed order from XL to L my height is 1.89cm lets see if its right size … fingers crossed.
Hey i am from Cologne. Where are these tracks you filmed it on?
cheerio!
Wahrscheinlich eher Richtung Eifel, mit Köln hat das wenig zu tun.
@@phittu das ist in Solingen Glüder.
Solingen Glüder und Altenberg würde ich sagen.
Great job 😜
Cheers Fox dude :-)
