I don’t want to bother wearing the Pagani, the GMT hand is hard to set and when you push in the crown the hands jump. They look good, their okay but this is comparing apples to oranges.
@@garyjohn1956 When setting the GMT hand on a pagani design, When you have the GMT hand where you want it turn the crown the other way just a little before pushing it in. The stainless steel bracelet on the Kivo watches is really comfortable. I bought one in 22mm for my Vostok 100316, and it's heavy (total weight of watch is around 175g) but feels great. I replaced the way too sharp folded clasp with a milled one for about $9, and the bracelet cost around $18 originally. It's not the fanciest, but it's robust and smooth inside with no hair pulling.
@@rainerweishaupl1103 Bizarrely they said to order it but not pay, they'd then send a revised price and send only the bracelet. a little ass backwards way of doing it but worth trying?
Just got my Pierre Paulin Sector Dial and I have to say I'm really impressed, the shipped me a "1.1 versión" that has: longer minute and hour hands that improve readability quite a bit AND they already fixed some of the branding issues you pointed out, they ditched the branding on the buckle and the crown completely, although the branding on the case back is still the same. I'd prefer an exhibition case back, but at less than $100 that I paid during the 11/11 sale I'm quite happy with it, it really is a great looking little watch.
I was late to the Steeldive 1970 party (i.e., after the 11/11 sale) and mine arrived today. Couldn't be more happy/impressed. Excellent recommendation, JOMW-man. Love this dang channel.
Been looking forward to this one Jody. I need a GMT. The Seiko movement is a game changer. As I've said before appreciate your openness and honesty being an affiliate and have no issue buying through your links. This is a simple way of saying THANK YOU for all the great content.
I can't help but get irritated with movements for GMT where you change the GMT hand. When I am on a plane I like to change the main hour hand and the GMT hand to stay where it is as when I am in the other time zone I only ever look at the normal hour hand and very occasionally look at the home time zone. I am lucky enough t have an omega where the hour hand moves and can't imagine the hassle of changing them both to get the result I want. Does anyone actually look at the GMT hand when they are in another time zone with the hour hand on their home time?
Watching this type of video after 2 years. AliExpress got banned in India 2.5 years back and my last watch I got from there was Pagani Design cocktail with NH35 movement, pulled it out of the box and it is still working like a charm. Love this video format ❤
Massive thanks. Only started following you a week ago and have watched nearly a years worth of your videos. Ordered a pagani GMT (using your voucher) and the steeldive 1970. To think a week ago I was going to spend £350 on a Seiko and now I have 3 watches for half the money (bought a Casioak (older model) as well). Top bloke
$50 USD for an auto flieger is insane! You brought up some great points about flieger's in your previous video when you talked about IWC. I once bought an entry level Laco and even then I thought I over payed for it. Ended up selling it and would definitely consider one of the Kivo fliegers
The Pierre movement is a Chinese standard tongji, it's in lots and lots of Chinese watches going back decades, it was part of the Chinese 5 year plan in the late 60's of modernization of industry.
I picked up the updated Berny Swiss Railway watch and the V3 Pagani Spdmstr homage. I would have gotten the Salmon Pierre Paulin too but they were sold out.
I liked my high-beat Starking, but the movement broke within months and the synthetic "sapphire" dial has a chip in the middle from my son dropping it on a table.
My Steeldive 1970 just arrived, based entirely on Jodys recommendation. Approximately $85 Canadian and I couldn’t be happier although I did choose the rubber bracelet which lowered the price. Looks great, arrived 6 days sooner than stated with no additional charges. Thank-You!
I cant wait for tomorrows San Martin video. I always enjoy those a ton. Hopefully this year I actually buy one because I need a San Martin in my collection.
Hey Jody, you should also get the Steel dive/Addiesdive fleiger, it's around the same price as the Kivo one and has great lume, a great engineer bracelet, 200m wr and a Seiko NH35. It would be great to see how to compares to the Kivo.
There aren't any that I'm eyeing this time around, but I recently bought a Type-A flieger from Addiesdive that I'm happy with. The sale price with promo code is just over 60 US dollars. I bought the sterile dial version. It's only available on a leather strap, easily swappable at 20mm. NH35 with date window at the three o'clock position. The numerals on the sterile dial are slightly larger than the ones on the logo dial, and they have a slight green tint, so it looks good with a green canvas strap as well as the classic leather. Thanks for another great video, Jody.
Hi Jody - another great video. What are your thoughts on the Steeldive 1980 as opposed to the 1970? I always feel that the 1970 dial looks a little bit cluttered (but period authentic) and thought I’d prefer the 1980. Now I’m starting to think the 1980 looks a bit too sparse. I know I’m overthinking it but your opinion would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Ed.
Word of warning, the bezel is a pain to mod. It's fastened with a zigzaged pianowire seated in a tiny groove on the watch head, and is accessible by removing the bezel insert. I spent hours before I got it back on properly. It's not like the Seiko bezels, where you can just pull it off and push it (hard) to get it back on.
I had Addiesdive Willard (same factory I believe, same case, slightly different dial), and the movement just died on me after 3 months. Poof, dead. Didn't even wear the watch all that much.
Couldn't go past the salmon sector dial. Would be interested to know what the colour is like, photos make it look bronze. Will find out in a few weeks!
My 11 year old daughter has got her eye on Pagani PD1662 and I’m after the Pagani Explorer 2 but can’t decide between the white dial or the Steve McQueen. Oh and new 4+6 winder, my daughter will be getting my current 2 slot winder for her 1662 and her 36mm Pagani BB.
Great review like always. Nice to see the NH34 getting into new products. If Pagani had just added the 24 hours scale on the re-haute. I have the steel dive turtle in bronze. As you say. Great lume. Great price. Thanks
I have a Pagani design GMT and I changed the aluminum Pepsi bezel insert for a ceramic seiko style divers bezel insert because I get more use out of it and it looks great. I can still read the time with the 24h hand but if Pagani added a 24h scale on the re-haute, it will make for a nicer and more functional watch.
Interested in the 'lefty on jubilee NH34". While ad on Ali says USD124 final price I can have it now for EUR 160. Lets wait a while. Does anyone mod these watches with another “brand-less” dial? Just wondering.
The Steeldive 1970 is beautiful and great value for the price. I had mine for a while and I love it. If you like Seiko's Capt. Willard then you really have to check this one out. On a separate note, I'm kind of surprised that Jodi didn't include on this list the Pagani Design 2022 V3 (Speedmaster homage); not even a bonus mention. I also have it and it is on sale. Great value watch in my opinion and way much better than the MoonSwatch.
Really like some of the watches shown on here, but after buying a seestern 62mas earlier this year, I told myself that I would not buy another chinese made watch again. As much as how good the 62mas looked, that watch had so many little issues with it. From bezel misalignment to the crown not screwing in properly, the QC left much to be desired, and since some of these watches come from the same factory, I won't be surprised if the other brands will have the same QC issues as well. The price I paid for that 62mas and extra belt, I could've gotten an orient kamasu 3 gen instead. 😩
last year I purchase the Steeldive sd1970 after watching your video on it, watch ticks and performs great, but I notice a bit of dirt in the dial nest to the date window, probably a assembly small issue, none the less I like it, it's my daily, only mod Î made to it so far was replacing the clasp by a mild steel one...
The Pierre Paulin looks like it uses a dressed-up Tongji Chinese Standard movement. And the signed crown looks like it came from a Mathey-Tissot. Looks quite nice though! The kid in me also really digs that glow in the dark map on the Pagani World Timer.
All the original prices in your video are much lower than what's showing on my Ali Express, for example PD GMT showing circa $240 USD and c. $155 on sale/codes.Any reason for this?
Hi Jody, that Pagani Flieger Chrono doesn't look like IWC's Fliegers at all! The subdials are all much closer to the middle thanks to the meca-quartz whereas IWC uses the full space of a large dial. Also the hands are totally different and, yeah, it's just no IWC ;-) Got a Pierre Paulin Chrono last year and the hour hand was loose. Easy fix if you have the tools. If not, a watchmaker will charge you as much as the watch did cost.
That Baltany is fantastic, going in the cart along with a bund style strap for it to round out that military look. I also made the same mistake with the Steeldive. I bough the Steeldive 1970 in green and regretted it so many times since. So, now for the money how can I not grab another in but in black and I will mod it with a Seiko dial. Thanks for a great list - keep up the great work.
The Pierre Paulin/Merkur salmon sector dial is a stunning watch. It would be a great idea to offer a see-through case back. It's a lovely movement considering the price. I'd much rather see the movement than a reminder of the meaningless Merkur name. Do you suppose it's possible to find an aftermarket display back that would fit?
great video as always Jody! Really love the batman on jubilee, the movement was holding me back, now NH34 its a green light for me. Only issue is your voucher doesnt seem to be working, any advice? Is the voucher region locked? I am in the UK
That unspecified movement at 5:00 looks, based on the way the bridges are laid out, to be a variation on the Chinese Standard Movement. Could be that it’s just influenced by the basic layout of _the_ Chinese watch movement of the 1970s and early 1980s.
Hi Jody. I love some of the Aliexpress products, but when something is not right they will not help you. I have two bracelets they sent me in the wrong size. They made no effort to allow a return. I am reluctant to order anything from them.
As if that Merkur / Pierre Paulin thingo doesn't have a display caseback, that is genuinely a great looking movement for the price (even if it is quite a mystery what it actually is). I've certainly seen major brands marketing display casebacks as an amazing feature of the watch with something much worse looking behind the crystal.
The movement in the Pierre Paulin Sector might be Merkur's in-house Fanzhi M01D or M01X, which appears to be their higher grade variation of the 'Chinese Standard Movement' (Tongji). I purchased a cheap Winner skeleton watch several years ago on Aliexpess (possibly the Winner 'WIN358-5') with a lower grade variation of this watch movement.
The movement in the Pierre Paulin Sector might be Merkur's in-house Fanzhi M01D or M01X, which appears to be their higher grade variation of the 'Chinese Standard Movement' (Tongji). I was waiting for this video, but I also had my eye on the Addies quartz sub. I figured at sub $40 to begin, it wasn’t likely to get much cheaper, hence I ordered 2 days ago. The SD, flieger, and GMT are tempting, as well as the more recent Pagani explorer.
Quartz is a better bet. This newave of nh mechanical stuff will run its course.Quartz has always been better which is why Seiko invented it in the first place and arguabley now make the 7 and 8 f quartz analogues which is good as it gets.
Thanks Jody for this Aliexpress sales review. I always look forward to it ! I bought the Steeldive Captain Willard a while ago in black and what a bargain what a lume! Incredible value it is! This year I wanted the best for the less possible so i chose the Chameri Grand Seiko hommage for 60€. Simili to the Escapement Time but even cheaper with the same specs (sapphire, screw down crown and case back) and for fun I picked up the Lacz Denton GMT for 77 €! I know it's not a real GMT movmt but hey one quartz hi-beat movmt and one automatic watch with second time zone, sapphire, stainless steel case, nice looks (ok hommages but nice anyways) and not that common on a hommage world for 140 €? Unbeattable to me! Cheers everyone and all the best to you and your Channel !
I like the map concept, I like that it's north pole centered in its perspective (sorry Oz) I smiled at the GMT lettering sitting on top of where GMT is in the world, but the European outline is tragically approximated, including the UK being absent, as well as Scandinavia and Italy. Pity.
You must have read my mind Jody, I was just searching ur old Ali express videos searching for past recommendations. Somehow after entering the rabbit warren I ended up looking at Grand Seiko quartz, another one to put on the wish list but for the moment back to Aliexpress
I cannot recommend the Steeldive Willard enough, I wear mine in rotation with my considerably more expensive seikos and I use it as a beater. It is simply awesome.
@@SingleTrackMined I've been looking (meybe not very hard) for a second one for a while. I thought they stopped making them. Where do you see them for $100 bucks? I see the same model I got still available but without the tritium now.
The Military crono looks great, love my Hamilton khaki handwind.. no date makes it quick to set, and super legible. Still looking for a canvas strap, where do you guys get them from? The postage from watchgecko is a bit much..
Watch out for the paganis. Mine came with super sharp edges all around, so I can't wear it with any other bracelet than the factory bracelet and even then it still cuts me from time to time
If you get a set of needle files (normally around $7 for a set of 5) you can file down the sharp edges on the case, bracelet, and clasp. It's easy to do and it doesn't take long. When done it still looks good and you feel good because you did it yourself and no more cuts. I had to do this on 3 different watches and it works well.
Damnit Jody!! 😂 Pagani GMT or Flieger Chrono?!? I just can’t decide. I love the GMT but have big wrists and 40mm just isn’t quite big enough. Are the GMTs the same size as the Pagani ‘Daytona’? I had to sell that as it looked like a toy on me 😢
How can one use the links to get to the AliExpress app? I used to be able to do this by clicking the heart symbol. Now I cannot figure it out. Any ideas?

Is there any site where I will be updated every time a new comes out? Do they have a newsletter or what not?

Got a Pierre Paulin Chrono last year and the hour hand was loose. Easy fix if you have the tools. If not, a watchmaker will charge you as much as the watch did cost.
The Steeldive 1970 is my favorite watch, that I own. With a Barton long elite silicone, its so good I have a hard time NOT wearing it.
Might be. I’m also in Europe and can’t get it to work either
I copied it wrong! Try again! Sorry.
@@JustOneMoreWatch AWESOME! Cheers Jody, loads through now 🎉
LOL, love the Spinal Tap reference, watched it dozens of times...whatever happened to mini Stonehenge?
Oh no, I really like that Pagani world timer! I mean, that’s legit. Fun roll-up, thank you!
What is the PROMO CODE for these watches? It asks but I don't see it anywhere
Nice, and looking forward to tomorrow's San Martin show!
I've been impatiently awaiting this video Jody. Thanks for finally getting it out! :) Cheers from SE Virginia.
Hi Jody can you review the PD-1705 homage to Brietling Chronomat and the original Pagani design PD-1758 with NH34
Paganis with NH34! The day has come! Thanks Jody!
CAN WITHSTAND THE BAPTISM OF TIME!
I love the GMT and the Doxa Option too.
You can't go wrong with the Captain Willard though.
It's actually the Chinese standard movement
The movement in the Pierre Paulin Sector might be Merkur's in-house Fanzhi M01D or M01X, which appears to be their higher grade variation of the 'Chinese Standard Movement' (Tongji). I purchased a cheap Winner skeleton watch several years ago on Aliexpess (possibly the Winner 'WIN358-5') with a lower grade variation of this watch movement.
Merkur makes an supposedly in-house version of the chinese standard movement
The movement in the Pierre Paulin Sector might be Merkur's in-house Fanzhi M01D or M01X, which appears to be their higher grade variation of the 'Chinese Standard Movement' (Tongji). The Seizenn W12 'Broad Arrow' (a Merkur sub-brand) includes this higher grade movement. I purchased a cheap Winner skeleton watch several years ago on Aliexpess (possibly the Winner 'WIN358-5') with a lower grade variation of this watch movement.
Pierre Paulin, Seizenn and Sugess are three of Merkur's sub-brands.
Some really good picks here. A good few also made my top 10 for this sale
Useful as an ashtray on a motorbike had me laugh very hard.
I cannot recommend the Steeldive Willard enough, I wear mine in rotation with my considerably more expensive seikos and I use it as a beater. It is simply awesome.
It's mad how much the tritium watches have gone up in price. I bought a quartz from Carnival about 4 years ago and it cost me all of $70.
Am I the only one who doesn't trust an AliExpress watch to safely house tritium? Isn't tritium radioactive and possibly could leak out of the tubes?
@@fark69 No
I bought the Carnival in black with tritium for $70 last year also. Now they are around $100 last I saw. All the Ali watches have been going up.
Brilliant mate, great choices.
Thanks Jody going for the steel dive 1970. Hopes it not too big for 7” wrist. Watch all videos. Keep up the great work
The new 36mm Pagani Design Tudor ranger homage looks very decent as well.
I’m on holiday in Oz from the UK, is anything cheaper here as I’m looking for a nice souvenir bargain!
Wish I had seen this yesterday before I bought a Seiko King turtle. Looks very much like the steeldive!
Watch out for the paganis. Mine came with super sharp edges all around, so I can't wear it with any other bracelet than the factory bracelet and even then it still cuts me from time to time
I have a pagani royal oak chrono homage and it's damn sharp and uncomfortable
@@redred516 Mine's the sub homage, so it seems like it's how they are and not just a one-off. Good to know
If you get a set of needle files (normally around $7 for a set of 5) you can file down the sharp edges on the case, bracelet, and clasp. It's easy to do and it doesn't take long. When done it still looks good and you feel good because you did it yourself and no more cuts. I had to do this on 3 different watches and it works well.
Hey Jody, have a great day 😊
That salmon Merkur looks identical to the Lorier Safari, or is it the other way around? 🤔
I bought a steel dive on your recommendation. It’s been my favorite watch to wear.
Do these links only work with these watches or after I click into the store keeps your affiliate info? I found a watch not linked that I like.
Will you do this again this year?
Im really looking at something Chinese, but i trust your opinions so much, I'd like to hear your thoughts
😂 that label left in the suit , classic !
Damnit Jody!! 😂 Pagani GMT or Flieger Chrono?!? I just can’t decide. I love the GMT but have big wrists and 40mm just isn’t quite big enough.
Are the GMTs the same size as the Pagani ‘Daytona’? I had to sell that as it looked like a toy on me 😢
Hello Friend, What do you think about of Didun Design Nautilius Tiffany?
The Merkur looks good. On my list. Hopefully a SM as well.
How can one use the links to get to the AliExpress app? I used to be able to do this by clicking the heart symbol. Now I cannot figure it out. Any ideas?
I think my favorite out of the bunch is the Baltany. Looks like lots of other people's favorite too... It's sold out!
Tenho a mais de 02 anos um Relogio Pagani Desing, (Homage TAG Heuer Aquaracer) o qual funciona perfeitamente, além de ser muito bonito, eu gosto muito dele e recomendo.
I love my Steeldive 1970 black on a striped nato strap. I highly recommend it.
The watch movement of the merkur is most likely something from seagull, fake blued screws and côte de Genève are a good indicator of that
Will you be doing a separate video on the Pierre Paulin? Or was it Merkur?
Which one is the best buy? I'm considering Doxa, Explorer and GMT homages, but I can go with only one to rule them all.
