Google Pixel 6 vs 6 Pro - Pick The Right One!

  • Everyone knows who Google is right? But their phones just haven’t gained the same amount of popularity. They just launched their latest phones, the Google Pixel 6 & 6 Pro! These phones are a big step up. From my first impressions, Google’s got a couple of crazy good devices right here. The one question I’ve been getting from friends and a lot of you guys online is should you spend the extra money to get the pro model. They look pretty similar, but after testing both for over a week now, what are the actual day to day differences. Let’s see if I can help!

This, wow, so glad I am not the only one that noticed it this year! It's like all of them suddenly "discovered it". I think that MKBHD has mentioned it like it was a "new thing" and now everybody repeats that although, as you say, it has been this way on all the Pixels and Nexuses before. And all those reviewers had Pixels before! It baffles me. Love Thao, but I just had to comment :)

I bought a pixel 6 last week but the camera would freeze when trying to scan my paperwork via my work app. Never had an issue with my company app scanner before on my previous Samsung S7 & pixel 2xl devices. My Verizon dealer exhausted every related app & camera setting to reinstalling the app to updating the app to re-powering the dam thing but just would not fix the problem so returned it & got a Samsung 20 FE instead. Not to mention I found it generally unwieldy to operate. Disappointing...

It's great to see the battery life of the Pixel 6/6 Pro get a substantial improvement. 2 day battery life needs to be the *standard* for all flagship devices, whether you're with Apple or Google. That, alone, is making me consider getting the Pixel 6! 💪🏻

the regular 6 is still missing UWB , stainless frame , and of course the smaller battery, lower res selfie cam , GG victus only on the front , mm wave 5g , 120hz , 1440p, and no telephoto . The mm wave 5G alone is $100 extra which is why Verizon is charging $699 for the smaller pixel 6 because there's have mm wave 5g

Wild how different everyone's battery tests seem to be. MKBHD reported roughly 4 hours of SOT while you got 1.5 days! I'd guess reviewers are measuring differently but still, that's a stark difference. Hopefully my results are closer to yours haha. Ordered the 6

I've seen a couple Pixel 6/6 Pro reviews that mention the fact the power button is above the volume rocker. Why the surprise? That's been the case since the original Pixel.

      Not a surprise, just opinion.

@@digovicentini1 Was the "hard to understand?" part necessary? Everyone is entitled to their opinion. It's a fact that she seemed surprised. Her exact words were "the power button now sits above the volume buttons." Sure she may not like it. That's her opinion. But back to what I originally said. That has been the case since the original Pixel. Power button has always been above the volume rocker. Maybe she's used to other phones with different button layouts. I'm not throwing the review under the bus by any means. Just saying maybe reviewers should look back for similarities on previous phones from the manufacturer they're currently reviewing a phone for.

for me it was a no brainer. I'm currently rocking a pixel 2 xl 64gb, and find myself always running out of space. I went with the pro 512gb. Can't imagine I'll ever run out of space, and I just wanted all the features, and the additional ram. I have had my 2xl for 4 years, so barring anything drastic, I can see myself keeping this phone for 5 years especially since google has said they will guarantee security updates for 5 years.

just played around with them at Best Buy. Been using the Z Flip 3 for a week and the battery life!!! You are correct about the overnight drainage. Easily loses 9-10% just sitting on a counter from 12am-8am. As always great review! Cám ơn nhe Thảo.

I like a big phone, since I got big hands so even the s20 ultra wasnt a problem for me, also i love to use a huge keyboard since my fingers are fat.. But I just hate the edge display thing.. I am point and shoot kind of guy so for 99 percent of the time I just use the main camera so no problems there.. I do some adaptations of board games and simple (yet addictive) move games (like RISK and similar) so for my gaming even a 2012 phone will do fine.. So I am thinking of going with the regular 6 but I would love a bigger screen.. This is like the 10th video I have watched today and I just cant make up my mind.
Also last 5 phones I have had have been black so I made up my mind to go for something colorfull this time.
Let me know what do you think would look best.

Thanks for this. I was supposed to get the Pixel 6 Pro today but decided to send it back to Google and get the Pixel 6. I saw that the Pixel 7 is releasing this fall and I couldn't justify spending $300 more for the Pixel 6 Pro when I will probably upgrade to the Pixel 7 Pro after it is released.

For pixel phones power button and volume the same position from at least pixel 2-2XL, Sony does make power button under volume buttons. Great and honest review, thanks.
