I’ve had locs for over 25 years. Up until yesterday they were past my butt. I cut them bra length and am working my way up to shoulder length. My family loved my long hair, but it was a chore that I needed to release. From wash day, to trying to position them when I sleep and getting them out of the way to use the bathroom, I was tired of the constant work. Funny thing is that all the folks that lived my hair actually have short hair. So glad to be free!
That's great made the mistake of completely cutting locs all the way off. From experience gradually cutting is the right way to go. You're going the right way.
I am 2 years loc’d from having a twa and the weight is already getting real on washday lol. My hair is just past my shoulders now and I can’t imagine the weight you were feeling at your length. I might keep mine shorter as they grow. Love that you’re doing what’s best for you unapologetically and love your hair!

Ik this ain't the same but I just got out of a break up 2- ish months ago and had a snake friend that cut me off. And so many more fake people that got removed from my life all these people were in my locs. I had loc extension and I wasn't comfortable with them anymore. For the reason I just mentioned. They are gone nowwwww🥳 So I am rocking my natural locs now.
After the second set grew out.. I lost my son to suicide. I cut it all off and decided no more locs and just have fun freely. Which btw.. I've never seen my actual hair grow out.

I'm a loose haired natural but I agree. Long hair is overrated. I have waist length hair and I am to get it before the end of of the year. Maybe up to shoulder or armpit length.

I’ve always been worried somewhat about not having long hair. When I did go short Immediately grew it back immediately but trust I think about cutting it short like a boy. I’m very feminine but I love the short! I’m a low maintenance woman so I love quick easy things and styles.

Your cut looks great! I was considering cutting my locs because it is so hot here in Atlanta. However, I ended up combing them out due to severe scalp issues. Now, that my scalp is healthy I am starting a new loc journey and will definitely appreciate and enjoy that length this time around.

I only have mine for 3 years and a cpl months and i already want to cut them shorter. The neck pain is no joke and being a swimmer its very inconvenient trying to fit my locs in the cap. I think I’ll cut them your length, its perfect
I cut my locks after 20 years and I had grown them twice down to my behind. It is so overrated! Right now I experiment with a lot of different luxe using wigs and I have a nice Afro that I actually cut this morning lol. It really is just hair for me. It is not that deep it is not that serious! As I tell people all the time, “you can have a natural head and a processed mind“. Do what makes you happy and you look amazing!💜💜
Just got into the two year mark and even though I have slower hair growth than most, I am beginning to miss the old length. Because hair touching my neck and going down my back it's quite to my liking.
I’ve been loc’d for 9 years and my hair is hip length and I shaved one side to get some relief and it worked now I’m growing my side back out and will reattach my locs. If it’s too much again then I might cut them to bra strap length. Your shirt locs are really cute
