Covid changed the world in ways that we will never recover from in regard to social interactions. Shit isn't genuine anymore. Simple conversations cannot be had anymore because at some point throughout the interaction.... whether its the moment of (days later, weeks... & etc), the individual attempts to lure you into subscribing to their content. I am blunt and basically shut this down. Prior to these social changes, I wanted to make a unique mark of educating in regard to my spirituality, BUT I became turned off with the thought of this because of the way things are. The new "normal" is odd. Going viral wouldn't have been my focus and there are many that you can tell was never interested in that. I never felt your videos were geared towards that... You are genuine and I can 200% understand that the "thrill is gone" in regard to sharing content because of what it's perceived as, today. I'll inspire through my art and creative writing. 😊
Which also ties into the type of content that is out there. People are literally living every second of their lives... like, the Truman Show tried to warn us... BUT we didn't realize that. 😂 Like too many "content creators" are being exposed for many horrifying things...despite their "positivity". Cringe like a mf. I won't even go down the path of what people are doing to themselves. All I will say is that I didn't think "The PJ's: would have become a live action. 😂
Dating. I am glad I am married (just hit 12 years+). If I was not married, I wouldn't even involve myself. The vibe is SUS... Nothing is as it seems. That goes far beyond catfishing... The term for whatever is goings on doesn't exist. The vibe is well ahead of the "term." I will leave that there.
Loc journey. I am not at my 8 year mark yet, but I understand what you mean. I sincerely do. The journey isn't "new" and once an individual learns what is needed in regard to the basics and evolves to just knowing what is up, there isn't a whole lot to be shared because when you realize your journey is (was) truly your own, the need to constantly share every aspect of this dries up. Like when you graduate with your degree(s). In the beginning, it's new and fresh.... You want to spread the news. Then, after time has passed, it's just what life is. The excitement isn't at a 10 anymore because it's your daily truth. I don't know if that makes sense?? Just know that I understand. For whatever reason, someone(s) tried to blast locs into the "trend" category.. That's some straight up mutant-minded shit. I choose to never undertand that.
You are great, and I am glad you are still embracing life experiences. I am fairly ole' school. I am so thankful that none of the technology we have today existed back then. I enjoyed exploring the world and embracing my challenges, as well as evolving through my experiences. To see you choose this way of thinking is rare. Never lose that. Stay safe, always. 🙏🏽 I've always appreciated your vibe. Much inspiration throughout your journey. Although, this is the second time I've openly commented under one of your videos.

I remember seeing videos of women with locs stating that they hated being stereotyped as spiritual girlies. "Just because I have locs don't mean I'm into that spiritual shit. It's just a hairstyle. People lock their hair for other reasons ." Now these same women are combing out their locs.

I totally get it, Sammy. I am so over looking at all this lock content, and everyone is jumping on the bandwagon to comb out their locs???? Then the same people come back on their channel after people probably have got disinterested in their channel and start a new set of locs??? Huh🤔 I don’t get it. What the hell are you doing? Such a turn off.

I'll only add more loc content when it's something I'm actually happy about it. I've only been posting when it genuinely makes me happy. I feel like it's only so much I can talk about with my locs. I’m new to the locd life since I’m only a year and a half in, but I wasn’t aware there was a loc trend when I started them. I got locs because I work full time and take care of a sick parent and couldn’t keep up with my hair. I wore it straight out of ease., but My bff has locs and she convinced me to try them out. Getting silk presses was damaging my hair and getting expensive. My hair is not my life so I don’t really focus on it too much.

Well done, Young One. You're coming into your own. Being watched for a living is NOT the vibe. Advertising, specifically, and corporations in general, tend to corrupt what they touch because of the greed undergirding profit motive. Go do your life, consider doing more to visualize the partner life you want, and enjoy this time. I actually chopped my locs off, but now I'm rocking my TWA, and I love it. Your content has definitely been a wonderful contribution to the overall self-love and acceptance of my natural beauty, regardless of how I wear my hair. Thank you so very much for your work. #LovelyNails #ChocolateLadyDoctorsRunTheWorld ❤

Seems like the journey you’re on is filled with positivity and self-love ❤️✨! So exciting and love this for you 🥰! I get what you are saying about the content creators though. I started my channel and social media to help other moms because I feel like it’s important to see ourselves or people that look like us in the content we consume, and that are knowledgeable about things that affect our communities 🙏🏿. It does seem like an uphill battle sometimes and it’s definitely easy to get burnt out, but I’m grateful for the families I am able to reach ☺️! Hey Sammy it's always a pleasure watching your videos.!! Love the nails 🍀🤑💚💚💚 the greens poppin..Okay Loc detachment umm watching the girlies comb their locs out just expanded my love and appreciation for my mine. I find with these men out here the conversation be mad surface level they say all the good things about wanting to get to "know" you but there is no real pursuit unless it's on your part. And that's where it ain't nothing to cut that trick off lol because I don't chase I attract. ✨💫 And with content creating I feel creators that are creating with a true purpose cool lately I've been tuning out form ish that's just nonsense.

Finally, you're the 1st person that I've heard say exactly what I've been thinking about the out of control content creating! I only got on TH-cam to view content that would be helpful or beneficial to my life in particular loc care. I love your hair and personality! I don't follow trends, and I'm keeping my locs as long as I have hair on my head. It's more than a hairstyle to me. It's deeper than that, and I'll leave it at that! Anybody and everybody is getting platforms. So-called dating experts really annoy me-some causing more harm than good. I literally had to take a break from TH-cam because of such negativity when it comes to relationships between women and men, amongst other things. I'm grateful for those sharing valuable content and answering questions I have of genuine concern! I just recently found out that people can make good money on TH-cam. Everybody's not meant to be an entrepreneur, and I'll leave it at that... I got on TH-cam in order to be able to comment here or there or interact. I agree wholeheartedly with you on this overly saturated content- some creativity, yet others piggybacking off of others to get likes, or whatever. So, naturally beautiful SammyDaGwd, thank you for sharing! Be safe, and I truly wish you the best living your best life in Atlanta!

Hey Sammy! Nice to see you 😊
I'm still in the baby stages of my loc journey (1 yr and almost a month 💕2/14/23💕) so it's still a journey... for me. I'm still learning and understanding and connecting it to life and all the things (and getting slightly sad watching a few of my "influencers" and "inspirations" comb out their locs...but to each their own) but I completely understand how you are feeling because I became the same way in my loose natural journey (total of 10 years.) I found all the meaning and inspiration and awareness and had a hair routine that did it for me and then it was just... it. I loved it (and still encourage it), but then I transitioned/morphed into a fade cut girl but it became a lot to maintain (the one time in life I didn't want my hair to grow 😂) and then I decided to loc in (😅) to this idea that made me curious over the years. And I know I will get to the day where I will learn all there is to know about my locs (with some variations bc hair like the rest of our bodies changes) and at that point I will feel out how I want to continue (continue to waist length, color if I get greys, embrace the greys, color uniform grey to balance the process, etc) or transition to another step (maybe some length cuts and then a big chop to a fade) 🤷🏾‍♀️ when the time comes, I'll do as I feel not as the trend.
And when I subscribed to your channel, I watched all your videos so I already know that the Content Creator career was not your goal so do as you please love. Your real ones will always see the new video notification and watch the video in full (and hopefully get you some coins in the process 🤑). I always loved that you didn't try to stay on trend and talked about the things that you really felt the need to talk about and spoke how you actually felt about them.
Now, yes there are more serious things happening in this world and yes a lot of the content that is going viral is very unnecessary, and that's why I've always been very...specific?...intentional? with who I've subscribed to; I've chosen people who are living their lives with intention and purpose and what feels like honesty, who are looking to help/add to others, and not worried about hopping on trends of challenges and cap'n. Funny enough, it feels like all my main ones are starting to go through this same point of vlogging/recording less and living more and therefore rebranding or restructuring their channels. As much as I miss yall in the upload downtime, I'm happy for yall. I appreciate it when I see the Instagram posts/reels and when the videos upload with the next inspiration or the next update or the life lesson learned, I'm here for it.
People have forgotten how to be human and how to people and the young ones coming up are so used to this life of recording that they really think it's normal ....almost mandatory and that part makes me sad and worried.
So here's to real videos and humane conversations in the comments 💞

    • @LadiiTnT
      @LadiiTnT 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

And to add to this...as much as I don't want to say this 🙈 lol...its okay if you feel this is the end to this chapter. If you feel that your not in a loc journey and don't want to repurpose the channel...girl, you can return to normal life and post (or not...but please do 😶🤭) on your social media accounts. If I'm every in the Atlanta area, I'll try to reach out so we can people a bit over a meal or exercise class or art exhibit whether you're on the tube or not.

Howdy. I think content creation fr like that on purpose like…folk have found money in that so folk wanna follow the money. People made money and ….consumerism…an idol in a sense. In MY pov lol. I think that’s why you’ll see one topic videos with sponsors and stuff. On dating, I’m really and grad school and like you’ve said before with….being intentional with who you let round and what you do, foolishness auto filters fr. Folks be deceitful and I pray you stay safe. As far as content I watch, I like learning about different things so the way Manifestelle approaches things like talking about dating and finances and dissects it is really interesting to me right now as well as Melody Alisa -faith-based content in general, but it’s giving more like researched podcasts / audio reflections kind of like what I’m doing with my students in the Black Thought Collective podcast. I thought it’d be cool to start a TH-cam channel for myself like you did so I’m also considering that! Also to answer questions folks be having for me too like about research and writing and stuff like that. Typing this reminded me I got work to go do 😂😭
