    The objective of the Zoe project when mentioning altered symptom profile (or really a complete symptom profile) is not differentiating between the variants. It's about getting GB officials to modify their information when to suspect Covid and get a test.

    Can you give monoclonals a bit later a still get benefit ?

    • @Peter_S_
      @Peter_S_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the severe illness is the result of how your immune system responds to infection, i.e. cytokine storms. This is why monoclonals need to be given as early as possible to have benefit. If you observe disease progression, there is something informally termed the "dead cat bounce" which represents the time between the initial illness from the infection and the resulting illness from the cytokine storms which ultimately causes fatality. People often think they've recovered and then the results of the cytokine storms escalate. The earlier you get monoclonals, the lower the damage from that secondary mechanism.

    About a week ago a 16 year old boy died of myocarditis 2- 3 weeks after 1st Pfizer dose, here in NZ. We will never know if the vax caused it but it is thought likely. It must be incredibly rare, and his parents surely understand this - they make a point of saying they do not want their child's death to put people off getting vaxxed, or to be used by anti-vaxxers.

    Does catching the FLU make you "weaker" vs. coronavirus...or perhaps other viruses as well during your illness? I mean, we never really checked before, but what if once your body is fighitng one virus, you're more succeptible to infection with other viruses of the same area effect. Like T-Cell or B-Cell depletion mechanism perhaps? I mean, if we start testing people for lots of things, would we find influenza hospitaliztions include mostly those with RSV, Rhino, etc. co-infections?

      Yes, UK study on co-infections SARS-CoV-2 & other RID (7000), found 70% increased risk of ICU & ventilation, 50% increased risk of death with combination of SARS-CoV-2 and influenza infections. SARS-CoV-2 plus adenovirus, increased risk of death. From memory, think there might have been increased risk of hospitalisation with SARS-CoV-2 and RSV co-infections.

    Q - Why did India not allow mRNA vaccines to be used in their country?
    A - Moderna and Pfizer will not accept legal responsibility for the safety of their product.
    Q2 - Why isn't this question allowed by the moderator (this will be deleted soon).
    Cheers!

    • @lesfaby8997
      @lesfaby8997 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I suppose you are trying to introduce FUD( fear, uncertainty, and doubt) into vaccination. But India itself is a vaccination powerhouse. They are testing their own mRNA vaccines.
      11.4 billion doses of SARS2 vaccine have been administered, many of them mRNA based. The vaccines have a superb risk-reward ratio.Your doctor can tell you which kind of vaccine is right for you or if you are in a subgroup that should have the doses spaced farther apart.

      And some other reasons - they cost a few times more than their local vaccine (AZ's Covidshield), and much of India lacks the ultra-cold storage necessary.
      They are trialling their own mRNA vaccine now, which overcomes these issues. Will it have a similar safety profile?

  • @rabidsamfan
    @rabidsamfan 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I would really like to know if anyone has looked at the incidence of myocarditis in vaccination changed when we stopped regularly checking to make sure the needle hadn’t hit a vein. There are enough people who were taught to check for that saying they rarely saw blood, but in their careers they did see it happen. At what rate? 33 in a million maybe? But I think we would have to keep track of method of injection on a large scale to test the theory now.
