Funny you should mention Metalica as BabyMetal and Metalica go back a long way. From Metal Hammer magizine:
"They met in August 2013, at Japan’s Summer Sonic festival in Osaka. Babymetal were wearing ‘And Justice For Babymetal’ tribute t-shirts, which soon caught the band’s attention, and Lars ended up watching them play on the small Flower Stage. Later, the girls returned the favour by watching the headliners perform - and it was their first-ever metal show.
“I was so surprised!” exclaims Su-metal today, thinking back to the day that changed everything. “I was like, ‘What in the world is this?’ I found it interesting that instead of hearing their music through my ears, I felt everything with my heart. Until then, I thought metal was something so alien and scary, but that concert made me enjoy metal and want to know more about the genre.”
BabyMetal opened for Metalica in Korea on their 2017 tour and they remain friends.

Less returning a favor and more so the fact that they were invited to watch Metallica's set. It was there set that had the whole thing click for Su, where she noticed these men who had been so incredibly kind and genuinely lovely to them acting so angry and mean. That's when she got it: it's an act, and along with her own words of feeling it, not just hearing it, it transformed everything in her mind and she bought-into the whole concept. Ten years later and here we are, still marveling at the wonder of BABYMETAL.

Welcome to the BABYMETAL Foxhole.🦊 Not all Japanese bands dance ... JPop groups probably do, the metal bands do not, BABYMETAL are the first to have added choreographed dance to Metal.
Likewise not all Japanese music is used in anime - none of BABYMETAL's own songs are anime opening or closing songs, so you can dismiss that thought for any future reactions .... I don't think the British power/speed metal band DragonForce's songs have been used either - Herman Li and Sam Totoman from DragonForce did the guitar arrangements and played in the studio recording for the album version of 'Road of Resistance'.
You are right there are big groups in Japan and Korea where they have many members and they swap in new members whenever somebody leaves - but those are Idol K and JPop groups. BABYMETAL started as a sub-unit of a JPop group, but they separated in 2013 to become an independent band in their own right, leaving the Idol system behind. BABYMETAL was going to be these 3 girls, no swapping in and out, no popularity contest (it would have been difficult anyway since the whole concept was formed around them, especially around the lead vocalist Su-metal with her extraordinary vocal talents and stage presence).
The original 3 members - Su, Moa and Yui continued until Yui was taken ill at the end of 2017. She officially left in October 2018 - Su and Moa chose to continue as a duo through to their 10th anniversary.
Over 5 years since Yui last performed BABYMETAL have returned from a hiatus and only now did they add a new third member - Momoko (or Momometal).
This video was from January 2015 at the Saitama Super Arena. Su was 17, Yui and Moa only 15 and that was over 20,000 people completely under their control. Even at that age Su just looks at the crowd, spreads her arms and the crowd opens up for a wall of death (actually several walls of death at that concert as the crowd were in sections. A journalist up in the balcony that night said he counted, I think it was, 21 mosh pits).
This was the end of a 90 minute concert and yes, they had been keeping that same energy up without any drop in quality for the whole time. It is what they do - they appreciate people have often paid a lot of money and travelled a long way to see them, they never give anything less than 100% for every song at every concert, whether that is one of their big arena concerts in Japan or at the many various sized venues as they tour the world.
You mentioned their choreo. They do not use the usual moves taken from the standard dance step grab bag you will see from most pop acts (east or west). BABYMETAL's choreo is bespoke for each song and serves two main purposes:
    1 it helps with interpreting the meaning of the song or a lyric - they are not just dancing to the beat, they are performing the song;
2 it is designed to lead the crowd, to get everybody involved letting them know when to jump, when to pump their fists, when to shout etc and basically it is intended that everybody in the crowd becomes involved, joining in and that they are an important part of the performance.
You may also notice there is nothing sexual or suggestive about BABYMETAL's choreo (again unlike pretty much every western or eastern pop act that uses dance).
This was the official video, they actually cut that outro short by at least a couple of minutes while the girls went to each different side of the stage to shout "We are ... BABYMETAL" with as many of the audience as they could get near to.
As well as that long central bridge out to the small stage there were two more bridges at either end of the stage leading to a couple more small stages that they used at various points in the show.
About the song itself. 'Road of Resistance' is a very positive song, it isn't the usual "resist the machine or the system etc" that we might expect from the title. It is about forging your own road even where a road doesn't already exist, not necessarily going the easy way or following the path already made by somebody else, so if the way you want to go has never been trodden you may have to get past the resistance of the undergrowth, obstacles, hurdles and things blocking your way etc to find your own way.
It could easily be used to describe BABYMETAL's own story - they could have followed the well trodden path of J-Pop and been very successful, but they chose to go with Metal ... but again they didn't just follow the same old format of every other metal band, they have done it their own way and it hasn't always been an easy route to follow.

Welcome to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥
I'm glad to see more reactors getting into this group in such a special moment with the girls recently going on live tour around Europe and more is coming around the world, so they're not popular only in Europe but you're certainly blessed having a lot of opportunities to see them live. Last month they released the new album and although there's a lot of great songs there, this is one of those major hits they don't wanna left behind in any of their setlist like recently finishing all the concerts with this epic anthem.
Nice to see you getting on the lyrics too.
BabyMetal is a Japanese metal dance unit created in 2010 under another Jpop/Jrock group called Sakura Gakuin, they had 11 and 12 years old when started this and become independent after 2013, they created their own genre called kawaii-metal mixing Jpop with metal sound and different subgenres along with many more rhythms. Their name is a reference to a new genre and not related to their ages or "baby" faces, is a pun intended play words with "heavy-metal" which sounds similar to "baby-metal".
    They are:
    *SuMetal* lead vocalist, now 25.
*MoaMetal* scream and dance, now 23.
*YuiMetal* scream and dance, former member since 2018.
*MomoMetal* scream and dance, she's 20 and is the new official member since April 1st.
    None of them are related.
After 2018 you'll see backup dancers performing along with them but none of them are official members, they don't sing, only dance, but that status changed like i said.
_Road Of Resistance_ is a power/speed metal song, is one of their most epic anthem and got the guitar arrangements made by Sam Totman and Herman Li from DragonForce, and is all about facing your own path without looking back.
The wall of death is insane just like you noticed, is also called "mosh'sh pit", different from usual mosh pit because this one is safe to participate if you fall everyone will stop until you get up and get ready to keep going with the fun ride.
This was part of the Trilogy Of 2015 series of concerts, live at New Year Fox Festival - Saitama Super Arena, is the last song of the encore they performed and finishing the show. By this time their fame was already high due to viral success on YT of Gimme Chocolate! MV, people from all over the world attended this live concert in Japan, and 20K souls witnessed this epic moment.
With only 15 and 17 years old this moment will be forever remember when they performing this song to reminds them all the support they got from their fans no matter where they go, either a small or big stages.
The Kami Band here are magnificent set of elite musicians who were send to help the girls with the metal sound, they rotate so probably you won't see some of them in all live concerts (especially the guitarists), all of them are males.
BM fans love some members of this band but none of them are official members of this group not even permanent, they only play live, so when you heard album tracks remember they aren't playing there.
    In this case they are:
    - Leda Cygnus, god of guitar, he's the only Kami Band member who's credited as a session musician when recording certain songs.
    - Takayoshi Ohmura, god of guitar, he's Míkio' Fujioka's pupil (another beloved Kami Band guitarist who sadly past away) and a prodigy child, you'll see his recognizable pink guitar or golden in other moments.
    - BOH, god of bass, he's the bald one and not only got amazing talent but her fun way to enjoy reminds me Flea from RHCP.
    - Hideki Aoyama, god of drums, he comes from a family of expert drummers, and his father is very famous in Japanese music scene.
At the end of their shows they always said "We are BabyMetal!" with the crowd, to making them sure that they're part of this show and project too, is a line borrowed to X-Japan saying it at live concerts too.
Rammstein are very good friends with BM but don't worry, this is my next suggestion:
    - Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!! live at Legend 1997 held in 2013, you can find a clip safe to react at Gans Tomas channel under Head Bangya title, also "abr metal" got this.
Thanks for sharing this and hopefully this won't be blocked

Road Of Resistance Live In Japan 🇯🇵:-
Su-Metal was 10 when she performed with Karen Girls at the SSA (SAITAMA SUPER ARENA). The Arena that night holds about 20000 Babymetal fans but when you see the centrepiece Island and the two curve bridge, it can hold up to 30000 or even up to 40000 depends on the configuration of Babymetal concert for each tour they performed. This song is co-written by Dragonforce with Herman Li and Sam Totman plays the guitar 🎸 solos, but Kami Band live show is brutal and tight. This is a classic Power Metal genre or speed metal as some might refer to. Bands like Dragonforce, Helloween and even Sabaton do power metal genre. Arkadia from Metal Galaxy Album is the successor to Road Of Resistance. At 17 Su-Metal alongside Yuimetal and Moametal who is 15 at that time, gave a perfect 👌 performance on how live show should be. This performance alone cemented my love ❤️ and appreciation for Babymetal. Kitsune Up 🦊🦊🦊🤘🤘🤘😍💕🌸🇯🇵🇸🇬#notacult. .
    Road of Resistance:-
"Road of Resistance" is a song by the Japanese Kawaii metal band Babymetal. The song was released worldwide as a digital single on February 1, 2015 by Toy's Factory, serving as the lead single off the international re-release of the album Babymetal, as well the opening track from Metal Resistance.
    "Road of Resistance":-

    •Album: Metal Resistance.
    •Language: Japanese, English.
    •Released: February 1, 2015.

    Babymetal singles chronology:-
    •"Megitsune" (2013).
    •"Road of Resistance" (2015).
    •"Gimme Chocolate!!" (2015).
    Background and release:-
"Road of Resistance" includes guest appearances by DragonForce guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman.
The song would be used to mark the beginning of the band's lore, Metal Resistance Episode III, at the concert held on November 8, 2014 at O2 Brixton Academy in London, which was also the final tour date for the band's Babymetal World Tour 2014.
A trailer for the song was released on January 5, 2015, integrating footage from the debut performance of the song in London. The song was first released as a digital bonus track off the live album Live at Budokan: Red Night, with limited editions of the album containing a download card with a code to download the song at no additional charge. The song was later released as a dedicated digital single on the iTunes Store on February 1, 2015.
Li and Totman are featured on guitars, although they are listed as featured artists in various regions of the re-release of the album Babymetal, on which the song appears as a bonus track, mainly in the United Kingdom.
    Composition:-
Rolling Stone described the song as "power metal" with "shiny pop harmonies". Rock Sound called the song "everything we’d expect from [Babymetal] with a bit of Dragonforce’s exhilarating, flame-fingered guitar added in for good measure." Matt Evans of The List called the song an "empowering hyperspeed anthem". According to Kadokawa, the song consists of twin shred guitars courtesy of Li and Totman, with a dynamic sound derived of melodic speed metal. The lyrics are described as a narrative on the Metal Resistance, which the band adopted on their world tour. It has also been considered the "final stage" of Babymetal and the prologue to Metal Resistance, and a transition performance that demonstrates the band's growth from the previous album.
According to Su-metal, the song refers to the Metal Resistance lore, described as "the story of Babymetal traveling across the world in the hopes of creating a new metal to unify the world as we break through the barriers of language and borders. In the middle of the song there is a part where we go, ‘Wow, Wow’ and this is where our fans from around the world can sing with us at our concerts. I hope people will listen to our album and support us at our shows." Yuimetal stated in an interview with Metal Hammer that "Road of Resistance" is her favorite song from Metal Resistance, explaining that it "has been performed at so many concerts, so a lot of memories are jam-packed. The lyrics are positive, the sound is so cool, and [the] dance is so powerful."
•Recorded by Watametal and Adrian Breakspear.
    •Mixed by Ettore Rigotti

    👍 👍
BabyMetal began in 2010 there were Suzuka Nakamoto age 12 Moa Kikuchi and Yui Mizuno (Yui left in 2018 due to health reasons). Both Moa and Yui were only 11 when the group began.
All three were friends and classmates who attended an idol school (Sakura Gakuin) founded in 2010 by Amuse Talent Agency for girls 10 to 15. Themed around school life the girls would learn and train to be idols and graduate at age 15 to move onto whatever entertainment path they chose.
Key Kobayashi was a music producer for Amuse and heard Suzuka sing at age 9 and was impressed with her strong vocals and stage presence. Kobayashi was a fan of heavy metal but believed that the genre had become stale and tired (especially in Japan) with metal bands getting old Kobayashi believed the genre needed to be reborn (BabyMetal means the birth of a new metal genre). Kobayashi felt that Suzuka had the ability to front a metal band and that her vocals and presence could withstand the metal guitars and drums. The fusion of Jpop and Metal began. He placed Moa and Yui as backup singers/dancers and a phenomenon was about to result.
At first Amuse showed no interest and the girls had only financing from Kobayashi. They performed at strip malls and small venues using clothes borrowed from friends and family. No money for a real band they had friends dressed in homemade skeleton costumes pretending to play instruments to a backtrack. They became a sensation (these young ladies paid their dues) and Amuse saw the potential and in 2012 hired the best session musicians Japan had to offer (The Kami Band) who tours with them today (now includes world class musicians from the USA for tours outside of Asia).
If you choose to explore more of BabyMetal I suggest reacting to LIVE performance videos as this is where they shine.
They have over 50 LIVE songs/performances and each one is different. They are fearless exploring many genres and have the respect of the legends of Metal such as Metallica, Slipknot, Rob Zombie, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest and more.
Avoid Glastonbury LIVE performances as the sound production by the BBC (who was in charge of that festival did a terrible job - mics not turned on, incorrect volume levels, etc.)
Suggest reacting to these for a start.
Karate LIVE at 2016 Download Festival in the UK where 60,000+ British metal heads sing along with the girls.
    Megitsune LIVE at Budokan 2021
    Headbanger LIVE
Catch Me If You Can LIVE with Kami Band intro
At their concert in Yokohama on April 1 it was announced that a permanent third member Momoko Okazaki (who is also a graduate of Sakura Gakuin and has been appearing with them LIVE since 2019) has officially become the third member.
Their new album in my opinion that released March 24 is amazing with so many different styles.
Good luck and hope to see you again.

What you watched is charisma on a very high level. They also do this at music festivals with audiences that not necessarily a Babymetal crowd. The singer and 2 dancer is from Japanese cultural history, singers with 2 dancer would travel throughout Japan entertaining villagers. As the singer performed the dancers would do interpretive dances that for the villagers to better understand the song.

Have fun and remember to keep an open mind because the Babymetal experience is startling.

This genre that blends the vocals and dance choreography of J-pop with cute aesthetics and heavy metal backing music is called "kawaii metal." Babymetal is credited as having created the genre, and is still the best-known artist that belongs to the kawaii metal genre, though there are a few others since then that are also labeled kawaii metal, such as Ladybaby and Ladybeard. Most Japanese rock and metal bands take the same approach to performances that Western bands do, they move around a bit, but there is no dance choreography. Choreographed dancing is mostly found in J-pop, and Babymetal was the first rock or metal band to do it. Babymetal is quite popular around the world. They have sold out the Forum in Los Angeles, California USA, Wembley Stadium in the UK (two nights in a row), and Budokan in Tokyo (ten nights in a row). They have also played the main stage at the Sonisphere Festival in the UK, Download Festival in the UK, and Rock am Ring in Germany.

I think alt-idol groups are more similar to Babymetal. Like Broken by the Scream and Passcode. They have the same format. Idols in front and a metal band behind.

They're been around for 13 years now and credited as the Founder of "Kawaii Metal" genre.
The lead singer, Suzuka Nakamoto (Su-Metal) is a real performer. She's been sing and perform almost all of her life. Her stage presence and vocal ability is something to behold. That's why their producer planning to build a band around her.

Welcom & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。 Alexa. BABYMETAL are now performing in Europe as a special guest to Sabaton's tour (total 24 gigs). And they will go on their own tour in Nov. and Dec. (total 20 gigs). In addition they have performed numerous times in Europe since 2014 through 2020 (before COVID). They are internatilonally reputable. Believe me 😄 .
The crowd involvement (mosh pit, call & response, chant etc.) occurs wherever they go on this planet. American fans also did it in every show in their 2019 US tour (20 gigs). In your video, Su shouted some words at 11:30 in your video meaning "Bring them on!". Fans analyzed that the provocative shout was thrown at people who had been ignoring, underrating, mocking, hating and even trying to discredit BABYMETAL. That shout may have been necessary in 2015 but not any longer. the girls have grown up into beautiful ladies now. The maturity has added more attractiveness to this band. Please react to videos including recent ones to explore BM more.

Babymetal is what happens when you get a clever and mildly insane Japanese metalhead (Koba) that want to make a fun little fusion metal band from some idols for kicks, and accidentally sets the world on fire. It was 100% started as a gimmick, but after they picked up steam, it rapidly went into a very real band. Their 2nd album gained them respect in most metal circles globally. I'll...let people decide for themselves what their 3rd album is. I just put it down to every band has that one experimental album where they try some different stuff (for better or worse...).
But yeah, you've stumbled into a pretty big slightly hidden gem. Go further down the fox hole.

Nice reaction. Welcome to the foxhole. Babymetal doing an epic performance of this song. All that energy and that was at the end of the concert. I keep waiting for Su to say are you not entertained. Lol. Su is a real general on stage. I think Babymetal would be tickled pink to hear someone say they are better than Metallica. They met them and are fans of them. As Moa would put it. Metallica of course. Babymetal is a journey through music. They started in Japan and have traveled the world. As they traveled and learned new musical genres. They added them to their own music. In tribute to the people they have met. Making Babymetal everything you want in music and somethings you didn't know you needed. See You.
