  • Summer continues to be fickle. A front is sweeping across Germany today, leaving few places untouched by rain. However, the showers are often brief, accompanied by windy conditions. Temperatures remain below average, but there is hope for improvement.
A low-pressure system near Norway is driving a front from west to east over Central Europe. While precipitation tends to weaken as it moves southward, rain is still expected. The northern half of Germany will be particularly affected by heavy showers and isolated thunderstorms, moving eastward throughout the day.
In Dresden, we expect a maximum of 21°C before the rain. The North Sea islands will be cooler, with temperatures only reaching 15°C. In the south, showers will be lighter, and the sun will occasionally break through the clouds, creating some pleasant moments. The Allgäu region will enjoy the longest sunshine duration today, with up to six hours of sun. In the eastern low mountain ranges, temperatures will peak at 17°C, while the Breisgau area can expect up to 22°C. The south will have a summery Friday with temperatures reaching up to 25°C, whereas the north should prepare for thunderstorms.
On Saturday, the southeast will experience local heat before another front moves in, ending the warm spell. Thunderstorms will travel from west to east across the entire country, bringing a significant cooldown.
