Even if Jeff agreed to it knowing risks, what professional capacity does he have to assess the risks involved with using heavy machinery. Not to mention the fact that his capacity to assess risks was squed in the first place, due to recently training in sky diving for the vlogs. Were the assessed risks written down anywhere and formally agreed to by crew members? Yes I say crew members, because once the people involved are being paid this becomes a production and not a bunch of friends having fun. In that situation it is David's responsibility as the employer to make sure that risks are being assessed and accounted for, not Jeff's - the person who now has life long and permanent in juries and resulting trauma from the incedent. The fact that David is even denying any responsibility is transparent of his capacity to empathise as a friend and his lack of understanding of his duty of care as a boss.

I work for a neurosurgeon and we just had a patient have a similar accident happen to them. A friend was driving heavy machinery (under the influence I might add) and my patient almost died. They have had 4 surgeries since June. They have been in and out of the hospital and in a nursing home because they were so critically wounded. They weren’t in a nursing home because they were old, it’s because they need 24/7 care that their family can’t provide. I couldn’t imagine the patient’s friend acting like David is. As we know, the U.S. healthcare for profit system is a mess. Sometimes people *have* to sue to recover money for large medical bills. Say, a neighbor slips on someone's icy driveway. It was just an accident, neither party is negligent or mad, but the injured person is left with huge bills, and has to sue their neighbor to get their neighbor's insurance to pay for their medical bills. I don't think David has a chance of winning, I hope not anyway.
With all the heat on David I don’t understand why he wouldn’t keep up with paying and taking care of Jeff. He was already getting so much hate before and then when that happened he really could have went above and beyond for Jeff and everyone would have seen it and it might have been some sort of redemption but now he’s f’ed. who is ever going to support D after this? I would say that David is a horrible human being. . .but I don't think David qualifies as a human being because he has NO FEELINGS. No compassion. No empathy. And when he tries to seem compassionate it's like a robot trying to mimic human feelings and thoughts. No, actually I think advances in AI have created robots that do better at expressing emotion and empathy than Dubrick. He should be ordered to pay for all hospital bills and compensation for pain and suffering. I hope Jeff is victorious in this. Jeff deserves restitution.

I’m sorry, but they didn’t sign contracts to do the things for David’s Vlogs. Otherwise David’s excuse of saying, Jeff knew how dangerous it was therefore I can’t be at fault , would be valid. I can’t imagine that really holding up in court they didn’t sign any contract saying they were willing to risk getting injured for a stunt.
i think what david thinks the problem is, is that at some point jeff may have told him not to pay his medical bills.
remember all that drama between them and natalie when they all agreed that david paid the first couple bills and then natalie claimed that jeff didn’t tell her about the rest, while jeff was clearly upset about it.
i think he might have gotten mad and wanted to stop dealing with them so told them not to bother - but either way
david should be responsible even retroactively to pay the medical bills that someone on his “cast” accrued while under his “supervision”
