Canadians need this channel. Not only you're bringing professionalism and quality in your videos, but you're bringing back real memories and true history. Keep up the good work Dustin.
Thank you so much Dustin for visiting our site and allowing us to share our stories of North Pacific Cannery! It was an absolutely wonderful time having you on site and getting to know you! You really captured an amazing video, not only for pure quality, but for the amount of rich history you also included with the stunning visuals! This is greater than we could have ever imagine (and we love the skit too 😂) so thank you so much, have keep up the amazing work ❤
Thanks Corbin for the time and knowledge of you and your colleagues too. It was fascinating, and quite amazing how much they could do with primitive automation too. Superb video all round!
It was a pleasure getting to come learn, and take on this project. I really enjoyed all of your knowledge of the facility and its operation. You're a great young resource to the old history.
Dustin you're on your way to big things with your video work. It's all very well done and super interesting to listen to. You're documenting things, times and places that no one else is. You're not letting the world forget about things they've never even heard of or knew existed. Great job man, great job. I can't compliment your work enough.
I really enjoy how you let the locals talk, without interrupting or asking questions! And while talking you showing parts of the area! Thank you for all you do Dustin and I always look forward to the next one! 👍🏼
I definitely try not to interrupt, but I do ask a LOT of questions. Lol. I just edit in a way that the questions aren’t necessary, because the answers are what’s important. :)
Wow what great story, so much history to be told. As a cannery worker myself and working for seafood business in oyster farming, really enjoy watching your videos. Dustin you have a eye for filming, photography in every video adventure and history keep up what you do because your doing amazing job.
I absolutely love your videos. They not only show how beautiful our world is, but I love the history you share wherever your adventures take you. God's blessings on you as you travel, wherever life takes you!
Wow !, just wow !. This is such a well filmed documentary and also, as an Englishman, another example of how wealthy English people took advantage of other nations to extract any resource that they had for greed and profit. I never knew any of this and feel ashamed of it. It’s incredible how the work was divided out between the First Nations people and then the Japanese migrants for different tasks, and then the “European” managers, who lived on the “other side of the tracks”…., very saddening but also very enlightening. Thank you Dustin, your work is amazing.
This video, containing the life story of a Japanese-Canadian woman who grew up in the Pacific Fisheries cannery, is your best yet. There are no stories more interesting and true than personal histories.
Man Dustin, you have really upped your game lately with some of the best editing and music yet. You are becoming a true master at your trade. Can't thank you enough. Looking forward to chat tonight!
This is of the quality and professionalism of any mainstream production. Like National Geographic, Discovery Channel or History Channel to name a few. You are a producer of the highest regard Dustin.
Please continue with these stories as it seems we as Canadians need to be reminded that we have a history from many cultures that created our great country.. from a first generation Canadian of Italian heritage. Thank you!
WOW! Awesome !!! so much history and stories that bring the ghost town to life behind Your Lens! Way to Go and ThankYou and the Team that invited You and Participated
Once again your video shines as an example of historical storytelling. I've done the tour at North Pacific (it's great), but hearing from Mona directly was an added bonus of first-person experience.
When the closing date of the cannery was mentioned, it triggered a memory from way back of a news story about the closing. Thanks Dustin for putting on video parts of Canadian life little known back then and completely forgotten or unknown today.
A video like this means a lot to the people of Prince Rupert and Port Edward. Thank-you for documenting Mona’s story and the stories of so many others and for sharing in this magical place.
"Hey Mick,.....Yeah, I'll take a Coffee please!" Another Smashing vid here Dustin, and absolutely a shout out to the people you spoke to, lovely to see the history of these sites being maintained for future generations 👍
Another spectacular video Dustin! The history you captured here is wonderful. I wish I could give this more than one thumbs up, because Mick deserves one too. Thank you again for another highlight of my Saturday - I can only imagine how much effort and love you pour into making such great content on a regular basis.
I must apologize, nobody invited me to see Port Alberni like this before, I must admit I saw the video's in reverse and should have seen this one before the other. Port Alberni is a beautiful place, full of history and people, I hope to see these places for myself one day. Canadians need this channel, so grateful and thankful for your work. You've left me very emotional. Omg WOW!
This video was done with the quality of a professional who’s been doing documentaries for many years. A lot of work was done from adding music to the scenes and showing photos related to the topics. You have awesome talent filming these!!
Well presented story with much needed defference in showing all the various cultures in a positive manner, all had something to contribute to the sucess of the canneries.
I grew up on a harbor along the Pacific Northwest coast and remember as a kid 50 years ago riding bikes down to the bay where the cannery was. The pilings are still there but the buildings are gone now. Thanks for the memories!
Seriously amazing, this should be a Netflix documentary. Thank you for taking us on this adventure to places not only far from where I live in Ireland, but also somewhere I've never heard about before. I'm being educated and entertained with every shot.
I remember when one of those cannerys went broke. My brother in law fished all season for them. He had a payout cheque for something like $7.87 framed on his wall. The coast is filled with history. I was lucky to see a good part of it because of my father. I remember seeing the film Namu killer whale in the Namu BC theatre back in 1965 if memory serves good. I sure do enjoy the vignettes this channel gives me to so many of the places i spent time around. I do miss the Bella Coola Williams lake road of the 1960s and 70s. Anyhow i digress. Cool channel keep up the great film making ❤️❤️👍👍🙏🙏🙏🙏
Wow, such an integral part of the BC cannery history. Thank You Dustin for another quality piece of history. Thank You for your professionalism. AWESOME!
I can't tell you how many times I have watched this. It's an amazing video. So informative and interesting. I don't know what kind of award it would be but you deserve it! Grammy, Oscar, or whatever!! My favorite TH-camr!!!! Don't ever stop doing what you love because it shows in your work!!!!.(
“Mick” is my kinda guy…lol. No food, no problem. Essentials ftw! Seriously, another fantastic episode. Rainy old day in Hobart, Tasmania, so a great excuse to chill out watching your work. Thanks again. Rob, Tasmania, Australia 🇦🇺
Awesome history of life. What ever happened to the First Nation's people? Their history is something that should never be lost. Great job Dustin!! Peace, keep the faith. Dean
Wow, absolutely David Attenborough caliber - Amazing videography, and so awesome to have all the first hand commentary from the staff and original locals..10/10 brother!
Dustin, you are an amazing young man. You have such respect and a genuine interest in our History. You take the time to interview the locals, who have such wonderful stories from the past, that you share with all of us. And you are out there in all weather! A true outdoorsman! I’m an old gal from England, who moved to Washington State in 1985. I just love to hear all about the early settlers, the towns, the landscapes. Beautiful! Thank you :-)
Loved hearing Mona recounting the history of her past. Having just returned from Japan I can tell you that the Japanese are among the kindest hard working people around. Too bad they were treated so poorly after the war.
Fermented water, coffee and road pop. 😂😂🤣🤣 Love it! This was a fantastic vid! Such rich history that leaves you astounded, and my jaw hit the floor when all the machinery turned on without hitch as if they weren't decades old.
My husband and I are big fans! We noticed how beautiful and huanting your background music and would LOVE a playlist of it! I’m Thank you and God bless! 😊
