    I use a cutting mat from the dollar tree under my kitchen aid mixer. It’s so easy to scoot around. You get two cutting mats in a package.

Australia has become super expensive to use any type of gadget even just the airconditioner in summer.

    You have that ledge off to the side that seems an excellent place to put your appliances. You could put up some shelves to fit the toaster oven underneath, and the coffee pot, instapot, and other appliances on different shelves. Maybe get Steve to make some pull out shelves, so you can retract them. This will save your countertops, and give you more room to work with your appliances. I bought a Magenta 3-1 toaster oven/coffee pot and grill, which sits all in one place on my countertop. You have nice appliances, but they take up too much room, and with your cabinets above, then you don't get your full range of motion for them.

    you could have put it on the other side of kitchen. all appliances dont need to be on same counter. I was thinking where you had your counter top spatulas

    • @StevenSteph
      @StevenSteph  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah…but I am loving it so clean! The counters are so easy to clean! And I make pancakes almost every day right in that corner and the griddle cord is short and I’m so messy when I cook hiding it behind myself makes me keep the big counter clear. So far at least. We’ll see what happens by the end! Id love for it to be in a cabinet if I can roll it out on the pull out shelf drawer while it cooks 😆😆

  • @dedriepyatte5784
    @dedriepyatte5784 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Dang! My countertops look just like yours PLUS a few more like the mixer, and then the canisters, why can't we have our countertops free of all this? Because the people who design kitchens design them for temporary use. The cabinets don't hold all the canned goods, the pots the pans the steamers..and then the dry goods!. I knew a building designer once who designed rental apartments, and those apartments had beautifully designed kitchens, EVERY single one of the tenants in those buildings all bragged about the kitchens, the lighting was just like standing outside in the sun, and everything fit in the cabinets! So streamlined. We need those kind of designers today. I have seen it, so it can be done. The company was called Cressie Developments..and old Mr. Cressie let his WIFE design the kitchens....genius I tell ya!! Nothing makes a house looks so dowdy than all the junk we have on the counters that we USE all the time.I agree with the little stand, but looks dangerous if the thing slips off the counter while letting out all that steam/grease. There just has to be an even better way............. Anyone out there have any better ideas??

      Yeah, that would be a deal-breaker for me

    • @StevenSteph
      @StevenSteph  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes when it’s a pressure cooker the steam shoots out the pressure valve lid when it’s released and when it’s an air fryer it circulates hot air and air comes out the back. Haven’t noticed grease but I can’t see how it doesn’t get airborne somehow

  • @pshank30
    @pshank30 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wait,,, can't you just pick up the appliance up with your hands to move it?

    • @StevenSteph
      @StevenSteph  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes…but it’s so heavy and awkward! There isn’t a lot of room between the top and the counter so it’s more of a drag item and the feet are super grippy and it’s so heavy! 😆
