We used Simpson's Outdoor Accents Decorative Hardware to install these porch posts. Great system and easy to install!

Where it all started
Great channel guys!
Awesome, thanks for the feedback!
Nice touch 🎉
Thanks 😁
What brand and color stain did you use? Love it!
Gorgeous
The post looks wonderful, but as you back out, you have a good chance of a car as they are turning to whack into it
Looks great, what finish did you use on the wood?
Stain, not sure on the brand
what’s the brand and do they ship to Hawaii
Hey! What size where the posts in this video? Also where they pressure treated?
Thanks so much!!
They are 8x8 Douglas Fir post
Did you anchor the post base to the concrete?
Yes, we attached the post bases to the concrete slab below
I am looking to do the same, but on my front porch.
Could you send me a list on the hardware you used?
Nevermind home depot sells them
Yes
@@hausplansI love a list I would love to create this look for my porch
What was holding it up before the post?
It was, the trusses are cantilevered and technically don’t need post. This is mainly for aesthetics and help with a large snow load
Looks nice👍 .
TH-cam won’t let me SUB
when you need to decide what sort of hardware you're using.... you've got too much $$$
Wood looks cracked after install. Rot will happen with that crack. Choose better wood for posts
This is Douglas fur it always cracks but it won’t rot. Also we covered it with a good sealer
