Hyder Noori Because that's how I broke my tranny. I got it really stuck one day, and I was just flooring it in reverse for probably 5 minutes and a couple months later the tranny went out. I pulled the pan and there were metal chunks in there. I had to replace the tranny. You really shouldn't floor the gas in any vehicle while off-roading unless you want things to break.
Just get a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4.7 ho AWD or just the 4.7 power tech.they are way faster more comfortable and better looking and actually would dust any 5.0 explorer. Hell the inline 6 would do these bad in mud or on the street.you pic the scenario.
I have one of those and all I can say is thier badass at wheeling
by all measures..this was awesome.
i'm buying a 98 5.0 AWD explorer tomorrow so i can do just that ..wish me luck :)
Hyder Noori Have fun with your new truck. My advice is don't floor the gas when in reverse. 3/4 throttle at most when in reverse.
ChadWorthingham thanks for the tip man..but why not?

Do you have a snorkel on that? I have a 5 liter V8 AWD 2000 explorer and that thing can drive through anything I feel like
no snorkel
I just bought a 97 5 liter awd 137 k miles . Haven’t done any snow yet.
302 seems like it has plenty of power. For me anyway
@@trucksandheavymetal Is / was that just AWD or a conversion to true 4x4 ? ...not to dis AWD, it's pretty good / cool in and of itself...
@@barrya.6212 It's AWD
