Holy shit, this is insane! I could not believe what i was seeing! And i would not believe, if anyone told me about it. Cause this is something that you have to see first hand, to believe. This, is what Golden Axe should always have been in the first place! If this version greeted me back in the arcades 3 decades ago, - i'd probably faint from excitement. Simply fantastic! My deepest respect to whoever made it! P.S. If there are any plans to make further improvements, then i'd suggest adding more fatality types to various attacks (esp. the flying stab) and to put some more foreground(!) detail and other objects into levels (including in the central area of the screen): grass, trees, bushes, slain figures, dead skeletons etc. "Shadow of the Beast" parallax style. Or even better :-)
Imagino el trabajo que te habrá costado hacer este pulido remake de este super clásico! Esta app game maker 2 te permitió sacar todos los sprites, música y código del original? O los tuviste que obtener tú por otro método? Y si así fue cuál fue la forma en que obtuviste esos recursos? Por cierto, ame el gore que agregaste lo único que vi malo fue el tamaño de los esqueletos cuando están en el piso, es como si se estirasen, deberías cambiar la escala de esos sprites independientemente de como miden en el original. ¡FELICIDADES!
Me tomó alrededor de un año de trabajo, aunque no fue trabajo ininterrumpido. El game maker studio 2 no ofrece muchas herramientas de ese tipo, es esencialmente un lenguaje de programación. Los gráficos los obtuve a fuerza de muchos snapshots en el MAME, y luego ir limpiandolos en photoshop. Para los sonidos usé una aplicación que se llama bridge, lo que hace es cargar una ROM de un juego y de allí se pueden sacar los sonidos.
@@yosoynacho Actualmente estoy enfrascado en otros proyectos. Este fue más bien un aprendizaje. Y además, cómo fan del Golden Axe, un gusto personal. Me gustaría agregar monturas y la posibilidad de desbloquear enemigos para usarlos. Pero será para el año que viene quizá
Well, actually it's abandonware now (I lost all data when I change my hard drive .. no backup). Lol. I just ripped all sprites and sounds to program the whole game in Game Maker Studio
This needs a 30 lives option. With 10 I can never get past stage 4. Awesome violence. It took me like a half hour to figure out to hold down up during combo to get heads flying. I wish this had more stages like Openbor games but great game anyways. This is what a Golden Axe on Sega Saturn should have been like.
