It's obvious now that Arcade1up was considering giving us some of the cabs we've been asking for, but I don't think we'll ever see any of them. I think they'll stick with rehashing their most successful ips. We'll probably see a Ms. Pac-Man XL or Class of '81 XL. I don't have much hope for anything new.
I’m worrying it will be something like that too man, out of any of those prototypes which one would you want?
They just need to do limited editions, 1000 of each. They will sell.
I agree and keep them direct if they need to.
You have to remember that John D. is gone. It was him that was planning most of the 2024 cabs and even did prototype mock ups that were leaked recently. He had a way of getting licenses and retailers to sell cabs. His replacement is a young guy who has limited knowledge of 80's and 90's arcade games.

Seems strange to me that the community is talking about a leaked list from prior to this year. We’re already heading into July and there’s just nothing substantial to talk about. I think it’s more desperation for content. This was supposed to be the year of the XL’s and we got a limited run of Pac-Man at Costco. My stance is - if you calculate their inventory (which you can easily find via adding cabinets in your virtual cart on Home Depot) they have millions of dollars of overstock sitting in warehouses for over 4 years - they’re bound to just sit and wait until they can recoup some losses.
AtGames for only $100 off isn’t worth it. I agree with you in that it’s worth getting the SSF kit without it it’s an incomplete experience.

I wonder how many kids asked their parents for 1up cabs over the past few years and their parents said no? But these are mostly a nostalgia thing for gen X adults. Michael B. from Ontario has a recent vid showing prototype cabs like Paperboy, Spy Hunter, 720, Smash TV, etc. in Tastemakers Miami, FL office. Hopefully some of those will actually be produced for retail sale.

Phil, I'm hoping we get something off that list and I know you know what I want! lol 1up just needs to stay with those 70's and 80's cabs because they sell. If you look at all the problem cabs they've ever had...it was those 90's cabs. People like me don't have any nostalgia for those 90's cabs and we are the ones with the $$$. Someone has got to get through to these guys and by these guys I'm talking about 1up and the retailers, that the people with the expendable income are NOT the 20 somethings...give us the 70's and 80's cabs!
I agree Stokjock, that’s what they should be giving us everything else can be played on PS or Xbox. They give us 70’s and 80’s, they can do all the game tables and slot machines for retailers :)
Good to see LokiO, AngelO got into some plastic, shes a chewer, but ok she threw it up. Ya that's the deal on the ALP 4KP, just get it without the control deck for now, that goes on sale pretty often and get the SSF Kit. Get pinball net to see what tables you really like.

Smash TV won’t happen now since it was part of the unmade prototypes that were revealed that won’t be made for various reasons. Same with 720. It’s re-hashes from here on out sadly.
Just like that DD2 cab we once saw, what a bummer man.
Maybe John D. needs to start his own company and make them or a company like Evercade should do them. I think for Smash TV, we are going to have to do a mod maybe with a new 4 stick deck by 99 lives with an existing 1up cab with Smash TV graphics put on it. I doubt that we will get an official one now. Same thing with Lethal Enforcers or House of the Dead. There are a few modern light gun options out there. And graphics to skin a cab even in Big Buck shape. Paperboy, will have to be a modded Star Wars or stand up OutRun with custom made Paperboy graphics and Glen or 99 lives yoke deck. It's possible to make some of these yourself with existing cabs if you throw money at it. They only gave us mostly the big name familiar cabs like Pac-Man, Street Fighter II, Mortal Kombat, Killer Instinct, 4 player Konami cabs, OutRun, Ridge Racer, The Fast and the Furious, Big Buck, T2, etc. because that is what licenses they could get and what retailers were willing to sell. Tron and Dragon's Lair were some of their more unique cabs that stores were willing to sell. I honestly wouldn't like a Smash TV in the Midway Legacy cab shape with the wings. That's what the prototype looked like. It would be better in the MKII deluxe shape.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say we'll get a Star Wars XL at Costco this Christmas season. Pac-Man did well for them, so I think they're ready for that. Star wars sold very well for 1up.
Not Star Wars we will be getting Ms.Pac-Man XL at Costco this fall. JamesHatesEverythings inside source showed they had placed an order for 15k units.

Remember back when they said they had no new products to show for CES in January they said we would get new announcements by June… so far all we have seen this year is Golden Tee Deluxe and X-Men 97. That’s it.

Very cool man! Yeah those ALPs are a little too rich for me. lol Besides that I don't have the space for a pinball table. Anyway my wife and I grubbed at Village Inn earlier in the evening to see and be waited on by one of our favorite servers! He is super chill and cool! Then we went across the street to the only Walmart that has any Arcade1ups in the whole east valley. So I picked up another riser for $59 plus tax for when I build my motorcycle PC cabinet. I'll either build it from my 1st gen Space Invaders or maybe another Arcade1up cabinet. Haven't really decided quite yet. Since the risers are going for more on the internet, I figured it was a good idea to pick one up while I had the chance. heh heh

UPDATE: a 6 player xmen was also created! It’s gorgeous! Ralph may think the leak list was BS, but we saw for ourselves the fully realized 720 as well as Track and Field. It was also confirmed by John D himself that Star Wars XL was presented to Costco and they passed. Prototypes for everything from Spyhunter to Tapper to a Qbert/Tertris mash-up and according to one insider-more leaked prototypes are coming (MKxl, SFxl and SW trilogy among them). The insiders knew some things, sure, but they don't know everything-including what the company plans to do next--if anything at all. But let's not skip over the fact that John D, Ralph, Justin, Travis, and Michael B all knew firsthand about MULTIPLE prototypes being developed--prototypes of all of the communities most desired games--at the same time where on any given day, the same home arcade youtubers were doing wish/speculation shows regularly--and they never once gave us an inkling about any of these experiments. Could the community have helped to drag these projects over the finish line somehow? Instead of getting loud for MK4 (which was clearly never even a consideration for 1up) could we instead have "gotten louder" for Smash TV or Spyhunter or even Paperboy? We'll never know because no one trusted us with this information. It goes to show you--sometimes secrecy is not the best policy. C'est la vie!
Man just reading all of this really makes you think we could’ve had this for ‘24 could you imagine if that happened? I think we could’ve got Smash if we knew about it, all of us would’ve brought so much energy for it. I remember Justin was going to giveaway a SF2 XL when it was announced, he knew there was one. I have a 6 player X-Men, didn't hook it up/test it yet, it's a standard Arcade1up cab with X-Men parts I bought on ebay with a Mortal Kombat riser I had converted into X-Men with the front flipped to just black and X-Men graphics on the sides,.and a 6 player deck by 99 lives that cost over $800 bucks. I just built it a few weeks ago but had the parts for a while and the X-Men 6p deck for a while.

I don’t mind rehashes but at this point new titles is what we want. Even if we get Ms Pac-Man XL that’s a plus. But I’m still hopeful for robotron/smashtv that was one of the titles that was most talked about. I hope atgames can also give us a killer deal for the 4k ALP. If they can get it price to perhaps 1100 or 1200 I think a lot would be on board. I’m getting the itch in buying another arcade but my gut is telling me to wait. Let’s hope we get something soon. yes Phil. get the ALP 4k with the ssf kit installed. they instantly and check all speakers to assure all works before you get it. the $ 100 shipping is a good price for the boxes and weight. this is what I did and I have no regrets.

I suggest you wait on the ALP. Here we are approaching a year, and they still haven’t got the flipper lag fixed. $2,000 is a lot of money for something to not work properly.

I am loving the Superpowers line! They look great and love the $10 price point.
And I feel down the AtGames Legends Ultimate Arcade hole this weekend. I was going to customize a Gen1 Arcade1up for Sega Genesis with the Intec play deck, but now I am leaning heavily towards the ALU as it’s not much more but can play so many more games and game types. I have very limited space and funds for Aracades and to be able to customize my Vectorman themed cabinet but also play Tron, Burgertime, QBert, Defender and sooo many others on just the one additional unit would be great. Between it and a future modded Star Wars, I think the two cabinets would be all I need and save on so much space and a little bit of money.
