can try hereditary but its focused more on story and its slowburn. the haunting of hill house/bly manor are also scary, but again more focused on story and theyre tv shows.
For those that don't understand what makes this scene so scary is that the therapist is actually talking to her to on the phone so this is not her real therapist here!
It’s obvious the imposter evil spirit is the one sitting across from her especially when it smiles and the real her is on the phone but ig maybe there’s people that don’t pay attention lol
@@T8OOM1O9 if you saw the scenes build up you would have a deeper understanding . As in the therapist came to the house, rang the door bell etc came in side talking about prior sessions etc
Right?! I'm LOVING these movies. I had to sleep with the lights on after the first one and had to just sit there for a few minutes after the second one in the theater just shaking my head. Brilliant acting and writing!
I loved both of the movies the first and second. They where not scary at all. Honestly I was laughing through the full movie. When the second one was put in the movies I watched it at night and people where there and I was laughing.
Man the execution at 0:16 and then the close-up of her slowly getting up with the smile at 0:33 fantastic. She had one of the creepiest smiles in the movie!
The scariest part for me was when she answered the phone and she realized and the demon smiling at her slowly...that entire realization was scarier than the demon slowly approaching her
You say that, but if this curse was real, it would be there day and night. Eventually, your body would grow so tired, it can no longer fight. That is when the curse comes to get you.
Has anyone with this curse ever tried catching the spirit off? Just give em' a hug or politely ask random things like who they are or how the afterlife works. Just try and spin the table and creep them out with zero fear.
Well the entity targets people with PTSD or people that got it through the condition of the curse. So the people that have the curse wouldn't have the courage to do this otherwise they wouldn't be vulnerable to it in the first place
Watch the trailer for smile two it’s about a pop star and a fan walks up smiling and she knows it’s the curse or something bad at least and she calmly says that’s a cool shirt want me to sign it and signs her autograph on her shirt with out the thing saying yes or no
I have never had a horror movie make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up like this movie did. Seriously, well done by the director. Just scene after scene, excellent filmmaking
This part was probably one of the more unsettling parts and why I hated that it got spoiled in the trailer. That was her therapist on the phone and the demon was pretending to be her therapist to let her guard down.
It's really weird when people smile at you every step of the way for no particular reason. It's like I'm playing a game. It looks very unnatural and strained.
This movie is really crazy and creepy. If people thought that the smiles in this movie are much scarier than most monsters are in horror movies or are more scarier than the actual entity. They’re correct. Also, if you think how all these people in this movie smile are scary. Watch me smile, and I’ll give you nightmares you won’t believe.
This was probably the best part of the first Smile. I remember thinking it was really clever and because you really thought this was a scene where nothing bad was going to happen.
Honestly, I think this scene made everything a lot less scary. The entity not having a cliché demonic voice had a significant impact on maintaining the fear of the unknown. The line, ‘Almost time, Rose,’ felt like it was trying too hard to be scary, in my opinion. Other than that, great movie!
Fair point. If I remember correctly, the second movie does return with the warped voice, but I don't think it was as bad as the first movie. And, it still uses other peoples' voices to mix it up.
This was the smile that freaked me out the most. Whoever came up with the idea of these films is just wrong and the actors who managed to produce smiles that creepy, are also wrong.
This was the ultimate betrayal. Our therapists are supposed to be the most trustworthy and the one to confide in. This happened because ever since she was at her house with her husband behind her back, because he called her over, Rose was already thinking she thinks she's crazy.
100% - that was one of my only criticisms of Smile on my first watch lol, one of the voices layered in that effect sounds like Spongebob and it removes sooo much tension from the scene imo
