Eddie's port work is legit if he ports it himself. He definitely knows what he is doing. Plus it's good to support him because he keeps the 250r live and well.
@@jaywagner13 thank you for the feedback man. I hear reviews all over the place regarding Eddie's port work; hopefully I can put some of the rumors to rest. I'd love to help ESR out and bring up the industry.

Love all the work and detail your putting into this build. Being I have 2 Rs one currently being built for my boy it nice to see all the different ideas and companies I can use for my build. Thank you for sharing.
Great video as always Mike. You are never boring, and that ain't easy. Two minor suggestions: Install some sound deadening material on the walls behind you, and maybe on the desktop as well. Your getting an audible echo of a few thousandths of a second. Also, on your cost spreadsheet, try rounding off the numbers to the nearest dollar. That will be easier for the viewers to follow, and the expenditure total will be about the same amount.
Hot damn mike lol.. 12k. Can't wait to see it fully done! I also noticed on the swinger you're missing the brake stay bushing. On the 250rs there is the bushing and then a c clip that goes there. If you didn't know the 400ex bushing (if that swinger is exactly like a stock one) fits right in there and eliminates the c clip. Way better setup.
Hey man love the content! As an R owner/lover, I always love seeing someone else take on a building one. But I gotta give a suggestion (if you didn't happen to know) on the graffic's, please make sure the stars & stripes are flowing in the same direction (mirror image of each other). I always wonder why it looked that way on military uniforms & vehicles, so is asked a serving family member. The code basically states that the flag, from any view, should always appear to be flying into battle & never away from. I think it would be a cool detail that a lot of people miss when doing these themed builds. Anyways, keep up the good work & can't wait to see how this all comes together, especially that engine.
Once you ride a Laeger you will never want a stock frame 250r again, my buddy raced GNCCs on two of them in the 90s, I was his mechanic, they are the king in my eyes, we had over 20k in each of them back then
Weston at DRW really makes a high quality product....I used to have a warrior and he is an admin on the Facebook group I'm in....can't say enough good things about him....everyone in the group runs his case savers and if you know the warrior they are infamous for chain wack cases...his stabilizers paired with the case saver is a must have...great choices mike this build is gonna be sick....I'd love to see your logo in flat black on that desert camo....I think that would be super sick....
I agree with the guy. When you port a 2 smoke you want everything to flow together. If he's gonna port it then to get the best power run his exhaust. Everybody that does the work on those things has their way and if the parts don't match up you can spend a bunch of money on good parts and great work but it can lose power.
hey mike, sure hope you have better luck then i did with ear i bought one of there 350 p.v top ends about 5 years ago it was terrible i think ct is a way better choice but to each there own love the build
Yeah but you know what sucks is they have bolts in certain areas so you could tell there the aftermarket Plastics. They have two bolts on the nose cone and two bolts on the side of the front fenders so if you want your bike to look stock it doesn't it's a dead giveaway. I don't know why they did that.
Don't forget a precision steering stabilizer and a rpm dominator ii mx axle. I'm not sure why the -1 swingarm?? Stock or +1 length to keep the front end down on throttle out of corners, especially with a 309 motor. The suspension and tires should do a good enough job of getting power to the ground. Speaking of the CC, why would you not opt for the 330 kits?
Thanks for the info man. In 88 Honda shortened the swingarm by 1 inch; it is supposed to be an improvement. So its very common that guys run -1 and especially for MX. This is what I've gathered from people helping me and from forums. I am using a Precision Elite and dominator II 🤘 I chose the 309 kit because it does not require case porting and it's more affordable and realistic for people watching who want to build one similar. I know ESR makes a 330 kit where case porting is not required but I hear bad things about the reliability.
@@MichaelSabo Yeah, I missed the part of the stabilizer. What width are you trying to go for? I have noticed over the years that most everyone tries for 48" front and back, and the RPM axles are adjustable, but I'm not sure of the front width.. the tire offsets always mess with me. Are you setting it up for a specific track or a multitrack?
@@itsallaboutwins5493 I'm not sure what the actual width will be; it's a stock frame with +3+1 arms, and 4+1 wheels. Its what was recommended for my setup by a few people that are more experienced with MX than me. I am building it for MX in general, not a specific track or anything.
Great vid brother. Ok i have experience with ESR, please make sure Eddie does this cylinder personally. The other guy's porting these cylinders just do a clean up job. The 350 pv i had was weak, my FTZ 265 would walk on it. Love the build!!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
