Glad to see someone who can actually shoot finally review one of these. All the influencers they sent these to didn’t have the pistol skills to get any advantage from it. Division rules are never in line with modern technology. It took 6 years of the tactical world using slide mounted red dots for Carry Optics division to be created in 2015. Until then they had to be used in open division, or in unaffiliated outlaw multigun matches where rules allowed it. A fixed barrel with a non-reciprocating optic is a big leap forward in mechanical accuracy potential. The main thing limiting this from wider acceptance will be the cost. It needs to be around $1500-2000 total to start reaching wider acceptance.
Hi HC, I'm an Italian sport shooter and I've been following you for a while. I have to say that from a technical point of view the ALIEN is truly REVOLUTIONARY and I don't think there is any need for explanations. from a sporting point of view, however, I don't understand it: practically here in Europe it would only make sense for the production division... but it really has an exaggerated price especially if compared to TANFOGLIO or CZ... and if you want something with a "low" barrel you always have ARSENAL. As I see it, it is a beautiful and successful exercise in mechanical engineering. Having said that, I won't deny that I would like to have one in my collection.
I use my arsenal strike one in IDPA and USPSA this gun is very under rated here in the USA. Upgraded trigger, optic and upgraded recoil spring with steel guide rod. Spots flat and fast.
I love love and now own 3 including the Limited Optics version. This is easily the best and most accurate and fair review of the Alien. And BTW, you are correct, the only real downside is how dirty it gets at the end of a competition.
@@bluyetiinc7553it’s not hard to take apart but cleaning is critical that you do often and well. If not the piston and chamber gets gunned up and is a pain to ungunk. I’ve heard of done getting a second recoil set up so one can soak while you use the other
Hi from europe here, we had this Gun for years and it is quite popular amongst competition shooters. The one Problem is that it gets really hot after a few mags.
I want to love my first Gen Alien but I don’t . It just has too many quirks that bug me as a competition pistol and I decided not to get the slide ride kit to make it CO legal. I found the same things as HC - grip angle, issues when dirty, heat, fussy with ammo, hard to keep the gas port clean , feed problems with the first Gen 10 cap mags . Once I had the cartridge flip and load into chamber backwards on a reload. Had to pull out the bullet with pliers and then pry out the casing. But it really is an amazing shooter despite all that . I’d be curious to shoot the new Alien Creator Evolution Limited Optics version - that things looks crazy fun . I’m sure they have worked out the quirky issues on these newer releases .
Nice video definitely cool to see a great shooter review a performance gun and see what it can do in the right hands. Interesting on the slide not locking back. Would have liked to see a little more on that. Maybe riding the slide stop? Maybe a couple rounds with factory ammo to see if the handloads were the issue. Lockback isn't a huge concern but it would be nice to have on a gun like this with that smaller slide area to grab. Either way still a good watch. 👍
I do think it was my hand on the slide stop. I tend to ride it high. If this was my gun I could do more test or maybe laugo could send one out for a round 2 with the new boi. I shot blazer 115, PPU 124 + P and reloads. I’m not sure what was shot when but I wanted to see what it was like.
@hunter-constantine that was my initial guess until the 17:12 mark when you shot it one handed and didn't get lockback either. Either way just a curiousty. I dont plan to drop 5k on one anytime soon.
Thanks for the video. Its an interesting heater but my 2011 and DS 1911 habit keeps me poor enough don't need this in my life haha. Yes always more up-crotch manipulation shots!
Oh, definitely fun, and accurate as anything else in my collection (Atlas, Nighthawk, Staccato, CZ). The red dot just doesn’t move, and it feels like alien tech in your hand. Not a good tactical weapon as the action is so different, but what a great range gun.
I have this version of the Alien. I agree that it reduces muzzle flip, but it basically transfers the energy to an increased backward motion. I have never experienced any issues, lockback or otherwise. It's a great gun, but the overall energy dissipation is better with my Staccato XC, Shadow 2, Canik SFX Rival S and Berreta PDP steel frame. Beware of the increased need to clean it, due to its unusual piston mechanism.
I have the same lock back issue with mine. It is due to my thumb placement which touches the slide release button and this pushes it slightly preventing lock back.
I talked to a guy that owns one and he said they cost about double what they are actually worth in his opinion. I'll stick with my Sig P226 XFive Legion and P320 XFive Legion.
I was struck by the comment at 4:50 - "I didn't really want to like this gun." For a review to approach a product already wanting to like or to dislike the product is not a good look. I think it would be better to start the review with an open mind rather than having already decided whether to like or dislike the gun.
I’ve never had the kind of money, where I could afford or even justify spending $5k on any gun, much less one I dont need. That said, If my pinky toe was worth 5k, I’d have the Alien ordered by tomorrow.

These things would fly off the shelves for 1.5-2. Even 3-3.5 to compete with the 2011s would be cool to see.
I appreciate you mentioning it!

Hunter is at the end of his rope.... Great video, brother. Some of the best 2A content on the tubes.
Best gun made to date! If I can afford another one I would buy it in a heartbeat!
The Alien Is Awesome!
Awesome pistol, the Laugo Alien. IF they can find a way to mitigate the heat problem, it will have no equals… Thanks for sharing!

How difficult is it to dismantle and clean?

I’m glad I’m not the only one that curses right after I break a shot on a move and shoot drill. 🤣
Great video as always

That gun requires a DOD budget, but it is SICK
It would somehow be $5 mill per pistol under govt contract 😂😂😂

Looks like a cool design
I picked up a slightly used Alien Retro Full kit for $3k about 6 months ago. Its shoots super flat & had to get it at that price.
Solid price
Good video you'll have fun with that again
Interesting, I thought this thing was a striker fire pistol the whole time. I haven't seen one locally to mess with yet.
Thanks for the video. Its an interesting heater but my 2011 and DS 1911 habit keeps me poor enough don't need this in my life haha. Yes always more up-crotch manipulation shots!

6:12 Are you shooting coated bullets? The Alien do not like that stuff..
Low bore axis + Constantine Conceal Carry Belt = Best EDC 😅

Nice and "toit".
Just how we like it
What an awesome lookin’ gun! Sub’d your channel.
Flat boi!!! 🔥🔥
Shhheeeesh
I think this would be fun as a range toy.
What ammo do you use for uspsa comps?
Yeahhhhhhhh
What is the instrumental starting around 4:04?

So if you were tuning your reloader, then could that have been a factor on the failure to eject?
Hmm I wonder if that Alien normally wears some nordic themed grip panels.
Love the gun..just recieved the Creator 2 weeks ago.
Thats 500 total, 300 Europe, 200 US.
Thumbs up good luck stay safe
Wtf??❤😮

what is the ammo you used
Blazer 115, PPU 124 + P, and min power factor reloads. (The reloads felt the best)

Nighthawk Sand Hawk vs Alien. Which handles better overall?
What's your altitude there?

Only $6500 👀
Easy peasy
$4000-$5000 dollar gun?...it should do the running for ya, load itself, paste the targets, and bring ya a cold drink too!😂
I think you are right. The $5,000 price tag is a little much, but yes $2,500 would be the sweet spot.
17:55 is gonna get you DQ’ed lol.
fun
Imagine if it was chambered in 5.7x28mm.
