Fabulous job and you work so hard! I too am redoing my parents farm and farm house but not going as fast as you are. With everything you have going would you show the floor plan on paper? Thank you!
I wonder what is the brand of the short upright piano and I find it interesting - cannot wait for the next upload and progress of the cleaning up of this house. More Power 😍
Wow! Wow! Wow! I'm Speechless! Looking at the house, I never would have suspected that the original house was only four rooms. Hopefully, I'll live long enough to see you finish this "project"! P.S. I'm 75 now - so hop to it! LOL! I've thoroughly enjoyed watching your progress so far.
I have like many people watched the reality shows on hoarding, and the cleaning that comes after all the stuff and trashes have been removed. It is at first sight an overwhelming feeling. Robert has been going slow at this because it once belonged to family. It's totally a recovery not only of the house itself but family belongings that mean something to his loved ones. I have both felt sympathy and admiration for Robert and I know I am joined on this and his other channel by many others. I for one will keep coming back as long as possible to see how he is doing. I wish I could do more, financially that's not feasible. I have thought like someone else said I'd like to come and help, but I understand the condition of the floors is not really able to bear the weight of a lot of assistance. Also he certainly doesn't need people shall we say helping themselves to things that belong there. He has been very generous in his sharing this property on this open media...if it were me I would have kept it to myself. He has his reasons and they are reasonable. Christmas is almost here,so while I bake and cook I'll be watching and wish Robert and all of you a Very Merry Christmas and look forward to a New Year and much more to see, counting my blessings and prayers answered. Merry Christmas to Uncle Ken,Other Robert, Brent,Brandon, Dan,Robert's family and all the other friends we see here.
What a time consuming, tedious job you have ahead of you. However, I have been watching for awhile and remember when you couldn't see the house and property from the road due to the dang wisteria. You have done a TON of work, and those of us who have followed you on this journey know it. Thank you for the tour, God bless you, and Merry Christmas.
Very reminiscent of the old houses in Queensland. They were mostly built with unlined timber walls, central hallway, kitchen at the back. In the smaller houses, the wood stove was housed in a stove recess which stuck out from the main kitchen. In the bigger houses the kitchen was separated from the rest of the house. The houses were on stumps 5+ feet tall to maximise the air flow. There was usually a verandah at the front. This style of house is known as a Queenslander in Australia.
If those painted panels on the living room fireplace are wooden, there is a way to clean them safely. There is a product called Kotton Klenser that will remove the dirt without harming the paint. I've used it on painted folk art pieces and it works very well.
Hopefully your plans will include re-instating the missing interior walls. The tall windows and high ceilings really give the rooms a beautiful atmosphere.
That central hallway was commonly known as a breezeway....they built them that way to help cool the house . in the summer the front and back door would have been kept open to circulate air
Are you going to add the walls that were removed and add the doorways as they were originally? I have a special love for old homes. It's heartbreaking to see so many old homes abandoned and rotting. I love that you've also restored the land. You're doing a great job❣
Thought I had a project house, but mine now seems minor compared to yours. Thank you for answering a questioning I been thinking, yes, going thru what is trash & what is treasure. That will be a major project there..
Thank you for the tour. I’d forgotten the arrangement of the rooms. I can’t believe all the work you’ve done and the work that is left. So much trash yet! What a project you decided to take on, Robert!
I remember what it was like when you first started. There has been a ton of work already done. We knew then this was a project for years, not months. I just wish there were more people would restore the old houses, not tear them down. Here in NH we lose more every year.
Thank you, Robert! This helps so much to be able to understand just where you are. It's a shame that people looted storage and created such an awful mess to clean up. I'm looking forward to more to see what the OBF gives.
Thank-you Robert for the tour of the OBF. I'm always amazed watching videos of the house because the ceilings are exceptionally high which diseives the enormous size of the rooms. A lot has been accomplished since your ownership with future dreams coming to fruition. I love the progress!
That house is a lot bigger inside than it looks from the outside!! Thanks for the tour. It will make better sense now when you are filming in different rooms.
Loved the tour Robert. You've come so far from the beginning when it was just a wee little idea in your head. I've been watching since the first day, and anxious for every episode. Your battle with the good ole wisteria and the addition of Blu keeping us entertained. There's still a long road ahead and I hope you will still keep taking us along for the ride. Through the tour today I could see how amazing those rooms will be when all is done . I hope you invite us all ( virtually of course) into that parlor for a great big house warming when all is done. Wishing everyone the Merriest of Christmases and Happiest of New Years. Love from 🇨🇦
❤❤❤❤❤I love this house I love all old house and furniture i really really wish I was there helping go through stuff and I love the smell of old houses, I no I'm strange lol lol . Yes please don't give up on this place I no it's gonna be even more beautiful when your all done your doing great so far. ❤❤❤❤
Holy cow hon, how you dont get overwhelmed is beyond me. Now I see why you bounce here and there and everywhere. Cant wait to see her come to life tho. You are doing great!!!
Definitely needed a before tour so one can see the amazing transformation this house is undergoing. I grew up in a 100+ year old farmhouse and still miss the place to this day. Good to save one from the easier way nowadays of raze and rebuild with cookie-cutter cheap houses.
Hi Robert 👋 👋 👋 👋 the big improvement was the roof 👌 I think because inside the old Byrd house you have kept it dry so that you can work in I have noticed a big improvement you done a good job 👏 putting new life into the house 🏠 👍 all the best Andrew south wales uk 👍 👌 😀 🇬🇧
I think you are doing an amazing job with the house is looking so much better than it did. I’ve been watching you since you started your videos and the yard in the gardens are just something else, but that Mysteria is driving me crazy. We have some in our yard too, but I keep cutting it back. Love the treasures you find in your home.🎄☃️❄️☃️🐾🐾🤗
My grandmother's house over in Camp Hill Alabama the main bedroom had closets like that. My grandfather's closet was the taller framed door and my grandmother's was the shorter framed door. The house was built around 1910 and only got an indoor bathroom in the late 50's. Keep up the great work you're doing on it.
My Mother in Laws house was like that, my husband and his brother just called in trash removal team, no doubt some treasures were lost, but the house was sold and had to be cleaned out quickly. You have a long project on your hands, I enjoy your videos.
I love this video, glad you made this video. Can’t wait to see more once it’s cleaned up. Keep up the good work. See you the next one. Have a merry Christmas.
Hey Robert, could you do a quick sketch of the floorplan for those of us who are directionally challenged. Keep up the good work. I so enjoy seeing your progress. Thanks
From the front door of the house you are looking at a big hallway that Robert calls the dogtrot. There are three rooms to the left one behind the other. First one is the palour, the middle one is where he has his stuff set up, the back one is the kitchen. To the right of the dogtrot from the front door is two rooms, one behind the other. Beautiful fireplace in the front room, the back bedroom is where he heard a sound of something moving. Then an added on room to the side with dropped ceilings.
Thank you so much, Robert. Having a whole tour of the Byrd farmhouse is so fascinating. I'm an early subscriber and each little bit of improvement is thrilling. May your Christmas 🎄 be blessed.
Robert, Thank you so mnuch for this complete tour of the house, very much appreicated. Understanding how much work you have left to do, can be depressing at times, and overheleming, BUT dang, look at how far you have come as well to see you are really making a different to this old home, and will continue to do so in the future. I look forward to seeing more of your journey with this house, in yrs to come as you continue to share with us here. God bless you and all that you have done and contniue to do on the OBF..
Oh, Robert, thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing such a labor of love and respect to family history. Your preservation efforts are not in vain, and I appreciate your sharing it's beauty in the rough!
Fantastic! I have never seen a fireplace mantle and surround quite like the living room. Very impressive, that is beautiful. The closet heights are a mystery. The more I see of the interior the more exciting it is and the more I love the place! The comparison will be awesome later!! Thank you for the tour, Robert. 👍👍❣️❣️
You did a really good tour, thank you! Obviously I'm not certain about your house, but it was quite common in the Victorian era for the dining room to be larger than the parlor. The dining room included at least one sofa and sometimes a couple of easy chairs because the space was used as a family room. Larger ones could contain bookshelves, musical instruments, and later on, a Victrola and radio.
Robert you showed us alot the layout of the house and also changes that were made to this home. I've enjoyed all your videos and well versed in your knowledge. Also enjoy your other channels.❤😊
Thanks for the tour Robert! The Old Byrd Farmhouse was a show stopper in its day. The fireplace mantles are beautiful! You certainly still have a big job ahead of you just clearing out the trash. I’ve been watching from the very beginning and know how much you have accomplished so far. Those who have just recently begun to follow you really need to go back to the beginning to appreciate what you have done. Stay with it Robert it will all be worth the effort in the end. Merry Christmas to you and yours and all the best in the New Year. 🎄🎅🏼 Ho! Ho! Ho!
Thats so cool. Thank you for the tour. Most people would have torn it down. So glad youre saving it. We have saved 2 old homes ourselves, but nothing near as bad as this. ❤
what a difference between what you have done Robert, verses how it started! great progress. it took years to accumulate all of the garbage, you are making great progress with the old byrd farm. thank you for giving the tour in side of the house.
That was awesome! Had some idea on what I THOUGHT was the layout, but it was a bit different than I had imagined. It is going to be a lot more hard work for sure, but Robert, you will have such a GRAND LADY when you are finished. I can't wait to see the end results.
I couldn't jump on this fast enough. What a great Christmas present to us! I can see now why you have taken on this project -- it is certainly worth your efforts. I wasn't so sure of that when I first started watching (recently) and had only seen the kitchen and the trophy room. It also helps to understand that it is part of your personal family history, which I hadn't caught onto before. It just makes it seem that much more interesting to me for some reason. I totally approve of your "one piece at a time" removal system. It would be a shame to lose anything of interest after all that effort, time, $ etc!
It is a lot bigger than I thought it was. I can picture it all redone. Lots of work but once cleaned out should go quicker. Be fun to strip all those doors and redo them. The fireplaces are beautiful. There has to be a way to save those paintings on them. If it faded it be pretty cool to keep them.
Thoroughly enjoyed tour, my grandmother was born in 1884 and the house she lived in when grandpa died was only 2 rooms. I would love to be there to help clean and find the treasures you will undoubtedly find, Merry Christmas from San Antonio, Texas. Look forward to the next video.
OMGOSH! How on earth do you not get overwhelmed? So much more things to go through. But what an adventure it will be. One piece at a time. Just makes me want to come to Georgia and help! I'm sure many viewers feel the same. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. And try not to fall thru any more floors!!
You’ve doing a great job Robert been watching you for about 4 years now found you when I had a knee replacement and found your videos very interesting I always just wanted you to hurry and get done but I can only imagine going through all that stuff I’ve collected so much stuff over the years I’m combing through our house btw it was built in 1890
OMG Robert, my heart really feels for you. You definitely have a lot more to do than I realized. I appreciate you showing us the interior of the OBF house. I had no idea it was this big. Now I can finally figure out the layout. The fireplaces are beautiful especially the ones with mirrors. I completely understand why you can’t shovel all that debris into a dumpster. Your right there’s plenty more treasures under all of that mess. And I can’t wait when you do start on them n to see what you’ll find. Like that cute Santa Clause 😅. I sure hope in giving this tour of the inside other viewers will recognize what you’re dealing with. You do have a life outside of the house. It will get done in time. But I hope I’ll get to see the true beauty of it in my life time. I’ll be 73 yrs old on Saturday so I’m hoping I’m still kicking around. Merry Christmas to you Robert n to Blue n Annie ♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🎄🐶🐶
OMG ROBERT!! Still SO MUCH STUFF to weed thru!!! You poor guy!! I'm in for the long haul watching you bring this beautiful place back to life...as long as I can tho cause I'm OLD! 😂 75 yrs!
Wow just wow followed from the start what a transformation not only on the house and grounds but you also the fact that you painstakenly go through every bit of accumulated stuff to recover not only your families history but the history of the region for posterity is amazing. I look forward to following this channel for many years to come and to hopefully see someone live in it one day. Merry Christmas Robert may the season bring you unlimited blessings.
You may have covered this in a previous video, and if so I apologize for not knowing, but how did the house get so cluttered? Bless you for taking this on and saving this old beauty!
One critter at a time when you get to whoever it was moving around in that one room on this video. Tremendous job you've done. Seeing this tour, we are seeing just how much you've got ahead of you. What do you figure? Another six years? Imagine what the Old Byrd Farm is going to look like then. There will be pasture land all around. There will be vegetables and gardens. You'll likely be working on a new barn for the place. All the rooms will have been restored. The wisteria will be a memory and long gone.
Thanks for the tour! It is an interesting place the way it was original to with additions. Do you have a plan board so you can plan your to do with check off on what has been done? I think that would be very helpful. Get the priorities listed. Do you think during the winter months you will be able to clear a could of rooms? May I suggest a large folding table set up in each room you are going to clear. Gives you a place to place stuff as you are going through it all for keeps. At some point the house is going to have too much stuff to keep. Going to have to think about how to sell and where to sell overflow. Carry on.
Absolutely great video, Robert 👍 I remember when your showroom and parlor looked like the other rooms. You have a lot of work ahead, but it sure makes for great content. Your grandmother would be proud.
Thanks for the tour Robert. I appreciate your care and passion for the Old Byrd Farm, a truly historic place. You have worked hard to get it so far from what it was. Cannot wait to see the end result! God bless and Merry Christmas.
Thank you so much for sharing this house with us. It is absolutely amazing!!! Thank you for working so tirelessly to restore this home that someone else would just take down. I’m sure there are so many beautiful things in there.
I admire your patience in cleaning out the farmhouse. The thought of all the treasures to be found would drive me to immediately sort through every piece. And the thought of critters I’d find both dead or alive would send shivers down my spine. Love watching your channels.
Hi Robert, how did you come to the decision to save the old Byrd Farm, i give you so much credit for this restoration, I know it was in your family, but looking at it before you even began this process, I'm interested in your thoughts, again great job, loved the tour, everyday must be like Christmas, you never know what your going to find 💖🎄😁🎁⛄
Excellent job. That really helped with understanding the layout but also what you are up against. I am impressed with how far you've come already, but, wow, there's still a lot of work! It will be so worth it though! Love watching these videos of the progress.
@@THEOLDBYRDFARMVLOG Looking from the from the front of the house three rooms to the left one behind the other, with kitchen in back, two rooms to the right with an additional added on room. Dogtrot basically bisects house. Description for the viewers.
Thanks Robert for the tour. Alot of it looked familiar but I hadn't seen the bedroom or the added on room from the inside before. Merry Christmas to you and your family 🎄
You are definitely a lover of history and very patient man to take this adventure on . I can’t wait to see the many stages of the restoration. To bad those walls couldn’t talk. I absolutely love old historical homes .
Thank you for showing us through the house and showing us the floor plan but as you go through you see that there is a lot of work to do and going through this piece by piece is important because there are so many relics that are priceless really. To the long history of your family in the meanings that all this carries and to go through an organize it is an awesome thing but I too remember when from the road you couldn't even see the house The wisteria was almost like a monster that had overtaken the whole farm so that was a lot of work that you've accomplished there
Thanks Robert for the full tour.Wow it is very spacious house. You r doing a fantastic job tryung to clear it out and taking your time to retrieve any special treasure that you can find .Its goung to be gorgeous when yiu funish .You r so right the fireplaces have beautiful designs .Hope tou hsve a Very Merry xmas 🌲
It looks like that because every single room of the house was absolutely filled up like what you saw on this video. So I have cleared out half the house now.
Great tour! The formal parlor would usually have the most elaborate mantlepiece...would that be the room with the triple windows ? You didn't mention the origonal dining room...would that be the room referred to as the 'parlor', also with a showpiece mantle? Interestingly, the rooms have a pretty symmetrical layout, but the exterior roof massing is very picturesque.
Thank you for the tour, Robert. It really puts a context on what you've done and you are now and how much you have left to do. It was once a beautiful home and I know you will get it back to what it was and even better. I'm really enjoying seeing how you are doing things. Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Thank you for the tour! I have been so curious to see the rest of the inside of the house, it was so interesting to see the full layout. What a lot of work you have ahead of you.
I always get questions about the layout of this old house, so I hope I did a good job answering them!

It's daunting to think back to the time you & Cody started to open the exterior, knowing, now, what awaited you inside.

Thanks for the floor plan tour, it helps to understand more what you are up against Sir Robert.
Love your videos and enjoy watching them. May the lord bless and protect you Robert restoring the old Byrd farm and house
Thanks for the tour. Lots of stuff to do but that's half the fun !!! Merry Christmas to you and your family.
Great progress!!! Such a hard task , I admire everything you do!!! Love to you and all that help you
That was awesome! Had some idea on what I THOUGHT was the layout, but it was a bit different than I had imagined. It is going to be a lot more hard work for sure, but Robert, you will have such a GRAND LADY when you are finished. I can't wait to see the end results.
You Are Doing Soo Much important work- I’m thrilled for you much respect ✊💯Have A Wonderful Holiday Season stay safe
It will be great to see the house cleaned out your getting it’s a massive undertaking that’s for sure
Love our Robert…never miss a video…❤
It's Great to see the old Bird Farm now has Two beautiful clocks
What a great tour! Interesting facts about the house!
OMGOSH! How on earth do you not get overwhelmed? So much more things to go through. But what an adventure it will be. One piece at a time. Just makes me want to come to Georgia and help! I'm sure many viewers feel the same. Hope you have a Merry Christmas. And try not to fall thru any more floors!!
Some days I do - but one day at a time…
Merry Christmas!
It’s gonna look so good when it’s finally finished
You’ve doing a great job Robert been watching you for about 4 years now found you when I had a knee replacement and found your videos very interesting I always just wanted you to hurry and get done but I can only imagine going through all that stuff I’ve collected so much stuff over the years I’m combing through our house btw it was built in 1890
I definitely had some of those rooms in the wrong place in my heard! Also saw a few I hadn't seen before, very cool thanks 😊
It is a labor of love, Robert! You've made progress. You'll get there. Merry Christmas!
❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Merry Christmas to you Robert n to Blue n Annie
♥️♥️♥️😊👍👍👍🌟🎄🐶🐶
OMG ROBERT!! Still SO MUCH STUFF to weed thru!!! You poor guy!! I'm in for the long haul watching you bring this beautiful place back to life...as long as I can tho cause I'm OLD! 😂 75 yrs!
What an impressive beautiful House! Christmas greetings from Vienna Austria.
Your determination and patience has always been amazing.
I love your house robert and can't wait to see what you decide to do with it! I'm jealous
I love these old homes and the people that save them. I will love following you along on you journey. I am in Columbus GA.
The Old Bird Farm is amazing. Thank you for the tour
I would be crazy digging to find out what all is in those rooms.
Merry Christmas & God bless 🙏🏼🇺🇸🇮🇱
Enjoyed the tour Robert.👏👏👏
I bet it was a stunner in it's day!!! Love every one of the fireplaces!!!
I think that you are a wonderful person for taking on such a task. Thank you for bringing all of us along. Take care.
Absolutely special! Such a treasure and your a good soul for saving this piece of history! Thank you! 🌿🤍💙🩵
I was able to draw a floor plan as you went through the tour. Thank you for the tour because now I can "see" the floorplan. Good job!!!!
Awesome!
Gorgeous!! BIG job!!👍👍
good for you Robert... I thought you had a lot more cleaned out. It looks like you are just starting. your doing a great job!
You are so good at describing and commentating
Thank You.
Thank you for the tour! I have been so curious to see the rest of the inside of the house, it was so interesting to see the full layout. What a lot of work you have ahead of you.
Thanks for the video Robert very interesting 😮
I just noticed that I have the same exact owl picture that is in your wall by the 3 windows in the room that was added on across from the parlor. :)
Amazing Robert well done .👍
Wow way bigger than I thought and very beautiful fire places. Thanks for the tour and update. Just amazing take care 😊
