Thank you for an excellent video. Knowledge equals power and efficiency. I just wanted to add something, that I know most players will never use, but can be extremely good if used right. If you pick the Abundance trait and are keeping up an average of 6-8 Rejuvenations on players in the Nighthold raid, which I do most of the entirety of every fight, then your healing touch becomes not only a very mana efficient heal, but lightning fast, again depending on how many Rejuvenations you have up. I will admit that this becomes a harder play style with constant attention to detail, but a few fights landed me over 450k hps when it worked as intended.
Thanks for the video. Have watched a few of your vids trying to figure out - what addon is telling you when lifebloom expires? It seems very helpful - is it some type of weak aura? Please share how I can get that into my UI - thanks :)
I'm going to guess that's grid that you're using for the addon. Have you tried Vuhdo? Which one do you like better? Reasons? Great vid, gave me a headstart on my resto druid.
Where did you set in party/raid frame for buff/debuff to show you timer or what addon you use ? Because I also use this Blizz UI for party/raid frame, but show me only icon not also time to expire

I use healing touch a lot on 5man, but yes in raids almost never except lfr when fights take an eternity and I want to conserve some mana and see the other healers are not that bad in mana. Healing touch with the abundance talent can be quite op on the other hand where you can have so many rejuvs and germination you can instacast an effective heal with a very low mana cost. It gives you more spot healing in general without depending on a cooldown but not as strong as the cenarion ward, but if you pick germination and stonebark you can keep the tanks healthy most of the time and quick react to low health targets. I don't use anymore that build though, I prefer spring blossoms and cenarion ward, because the other is too single target healing and poor aoe heal.

I just wanted to say that I watched your guide on resto druid (Gallywix's Pleasure Palace is my new favorite place) and it gave me the knowledge and confidence to go into mythic plus and start gearing up my Tauren Druid. I had a question: Do you have any general healing advice about going into raids? I would like to know more about the balance between working with a healing team; not trying to do too much/go oom/ too much overhealing/etc., and also being able to pull your weight and contribute. Basically how much rejuv is too much rejuv lol.
Plokewn just don't rejuv on targets over 80% especially if you're not coordinating with your healers. If someone snipes the target you hot is just 99% overheal

I rerolled resto druid from hpriest a few weeks ago and i feel super weak, we have another resto druid that is worse geared than me but is doing a lot more healing than me and isn't runing out of mana as quickly. I've asked him what i'm doing wrong but he apparently can't help me. I've watched your super long guide a few times but i still have questions about the 'priority/order' of spells i should be using. As i come from holy priest i'm not really used to hots but i generally try to keep rejuv and regrowth up on the people that is taking damage while having 90%+ uptime on lifebloom. What i understand from this video though is that i should be using wild growth a lot? Is that right? I rarely use it as it takes sooo much mana and i see my self go oom way way to fast when i use wild growth. Mister you want to take the talent that lets you put two rejuvs on a person (forget name) to not run out of mana as fast. Keep lifebloom up constantly. Use innervate as soon as it's off cool down. Pop a mana pot at 50%.

However, in raids I still struggle to consistently hit 350k/400+ hps on meters and always getting oom just too fast. I keep LB on tank, Eff when it's effective, almost only use Regrowth when clear casting, and keep rejuv up on the targets taking damage, as well as dropping WG or Tranquility when a lot of them do. Is there any way I can get a better understanding where am I failing? I just wish I could figure what the hell am I doing wrong... Thanks a lot in advance :))
I use Grid2 it shows up to 5 hots per box (3 tiny timers on top (rejuv,regrow,life) and 2 blinking boxes on bottom for like wild growth ect.). no need to configure. I really like it.

I don't think that mana efficiency has to do with how much healing a spell does per 1 mana. I believe that this is called healing output. I would say that mana efficiency has to do more with how much you spend compared to your mana regen by casting a specific spell. You can spam LB without costing you anything but you cannot do that with WG.

Here is the dictionary definition of efficiency: the ratio of the useful work performed by a machine or in a process to the total energy expended or heat taken in. Useful work is healing and energy expended is mana.
Same terms are used to describe different things. For instance, I am sure that when a mathematician uses the term "root" he means something quite different than a botanologist. Your definiton of "efficiency" sounds good for machines etc, however it doesn't fit with how how healing works. In economics, which I think suits healing better, "efficiency" can be reach when scarce resources are allocated in such a way that the maximum output is reached without wasting them. In this case, your scarce resource is mana, the spells you cast is the way you allocate your mana and efficiency can be reached when you use your mana in such a way that you don't waste it but get the maximum healing output given the circumstances.
For what it's worth literally everybody but you uses the term efficiency the way I did in the video, but I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and help you get there. In healing at the base level there are only one thing to keep in mind: keep people alive. We do this by doing effective healing so somebody does not reach 0 hit points. These heal spells cost mana, which is a limited resource, we have 1.10M mana to work with, plus the amount we regenerate which is variable based on fight length. Our goal is to utilize our finite resource to keep people alive, this means that both the mana cost and effective healing of the spells is necessary information. To expand a bit. If we assume I have a simple mana regen of 45k mana per 5 seconds (it's somewhere around this number, being more specific will not really improve the model) and a base mana pool of 1.1M and the fight lasts 4 minutes (say mythic ursoc or cenarius) that means assuming I began the fight with mana regen rolling I would have a total of 3,260,000 mana for the fight. I need to figure out a way to utilize this finite pool of mana to keep people alive. The ideal goal is of course to maximize this resource and find out the way to most efficiently use it. Spamming lifebloom (as you mentioned in your initial comment) is a very inefficient way to heal as it is using 26.4k mana every GCD for somewhere around 19k healing per cast (my numbers). This means that you get a total of 2,346,212 healing for the fight. To compare, in my guild's cenarius kill I did 120M healing over a 3:57 fight (log if curious www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/1W8mMYbtGaQxAJZp#fight=2&type=healing) this means I was far more efficient with my ~3M mana than I would be if I had spammed lifebloom (which again, you claimed was an example of something efficient). If you still don't agree there is a very high chance you just don't understand that words have meaning based on context, and in the context of healing efficiency is very clearly defined as what I previously have mentioned.
YO. U are talking about mana efficiency and i dont see u using innervate at 90% mana, also checked logs (on some fights u dont use it at all :O). Its like wasting 15-20% mana in fights. Imo its the most important thing about mana efficiency. also i THINK u didnt say anything about darkmoon promises trinket which is now t1 for resto dudu. Saving mana as a resto dudu is all about lowering your overhealing to about 20%
My innervate usage is definitely bad, it's one of the things I've been consciously trying to work on during our M Odyn progression, but also I'm certain a lot of my logs I didn't even have mana issues without using innervate since we overgear the content by a good bit (M nyth for example is a joke to us now). As for darkmoon deck promises, I see people on both sides, some people think it's insane and some think it's unnecessary. I'm in the second camp, I see the value of it but unfortunately compared to a higher ilvl stat stick it just provides less throughput and unless I'm actively having mana issues (which is pretty rare) I just want more throughput.
from my perspective its a much have trinket, u can rly feel the diffrence without it. Compering it to for example urn from nightbane u have almost the same ammount of int but urn gives you 1k+ mastery which u not gonna use in raids anyway since resto is way better in healing raid. Anyway its my opinion, only wanted to say that if any1 has mana issue just try using that trinket and try to slow down with putting rejuv on targets, its way better to use wild growth than to use couple of rejuv and only make us of 20% of their duration.

No offence but, how can you heal without mouse over macro's, the raid frame all the way to the side and a UI like that ? Dps and tanks have their raid framed on the side because they don't give 2 fucks about the others in the group. I'd suggest that you drag that frame into the middle, remove your spellbars and heal like that. You'll be a better healer in a day.
Basically : normally you'd click a target, then cast a spell. a mouse over Macro makes it so that you can hover over the target and then cast a heal, so it takes away the '' time '' to click someone and then cast. Some people use addons such as Vuhdoo, but I'd not do that as it takes away the feel of healing. For instance #showtooltip * Spell name * /cast [@mouseover] * Same spell name as the tooltip obviously * and there you have it.
Lol using vuhdu or healbot is literally the same gameplay as using mouse over macros the only difference is the raid frames and the speed at which you can set it up instead of copy pasting a macro for all your spells

I love blizz orginal raid frames, but one thing i hate about them is that you cant see them 3 hots if your a resto druid
