What the Doppler is picking up is probably her own pulse. When I was fresh intern, I made that mistake while checking fetal heart rate. The Doppler was showing heart rate of around 70 (normal for adults), and I freaked out because normal for fetuses is 100-140. Turns out it was just maternal uterine artery pulse and all I had to do is move the Doppler around until I found the actual baby's heart.
I have illness anxiety disorder and it’s actually crazy how your body can change if your mind is severely convinced something is wrong. When I was in 9th grade, I learned a lot about stomach cancer and got so freaked out and terrified that I had it that I actually developed severely painful gallstones and had to get my gallbladder taken out. There was also a point where I was convinced I was pregnant and my body stopped having periods for 5 months straight and I was very bloated the entire time (even though I had negative pregnancy tests and everything). I’m a whole lot better now with the disorder but I still have stay clear of triggers like web MD. But yeah it’s a full delusion but you’re just so convinced it’s real
