I finally subscribed so I could come here to say that your story about being 7 years old with your grandpa on your birthday was absolutely adorable! Just picturing this little kid deciding right then and there he's going to move to LA when he grows up. Thank you for doing such a wonderful job at preserving Hollywood history. I also love watching those old Hollywood shorts and newsreels and I imagine someone 50 years from now watching your vlogs, maybe on their ocular hologram implant or whatever, and saying "Oh my God can you believe that's what Hollywood looked like in the teens?"
cool video man. I have to point out though that the live footage of the band playing was shot at 80s hard rock club Scream, then held at the Park Plaza Hotel, not at The Whisky. I lived for 8 years in LA, also got to meet them. Was cool to see the bus scene location there! Cheers.
This vlog was a lot of fun for me. I recall fondly discovering Guns N’ Roses in elementary school. I even bought an Appetite for Distruction CD (don’t laugh) this year on a whim and blasted it in my vehicle! Jordan, you have the best stories!
Great vlog, Jordan!! I remember vividly the first time I ever heard Guns N' Roses. I was a college student in a bar, and "Welcome to the Jungle" came screaming out of the jukebox. I was like "Who is that." One of my friends explained to me that it was a new band called Guns N' Roses. Great to see all of the filming locations, since I have watched that video countless times!! LOVED IT!!
I am a new subsciber, your vlog popped up in my recommended section a few days ago. I was 17 in "87. Thank you for the cool stories. Really enjoying your vlog. Love to walk down memory lane after all this time.
Excellent Vlog Jordan I love hearing how you have met people . I love your hat very cool...Guns & Roses takes me back to high school and to when I allowed my sister to be in charge of soothing music to give birth to my son with. She bought Appetite for Destruction to the labour ward.. My son is a metal head and loves Guns & Roses. Its 2am and I'm listening to the CD Thanks dude.
💋Awesome VLOG!!! I have a sister that is a lot older than me and I first remember hearing them because of her when I was alittle kid in the late 80's! I remember Stephanie Seymour in the Nov.Rain video she was such a huge model in the 90's. Great job on this, like all your vlogs. Love and Light 💖Carli
Awesome vlog Jordan! They are my favorite band of all time. I can remember exactly where I was when I heard them as well. It was totally honest and raw power. It was a life changing moment. I saw them in Chicago at Soldier Field in 2017. It was a dream come true. How cool it must have been to meet Slash, Duff, and Steven. A fellow musician friend of mine met Axl at the Rainbow room back in Like 2000. He wasn’t really a fan but respects him and he said he was a awesome guy in person. Keep up the awesome work man!
Bravo on the vlog! Your choice of favorite band is outstanding. Enjoyed learning about the history of Guns N’ Roses and your personal accounts of encounters with band members. So glad Axl Roses’ voice is still as incredible as ever!
I was watching MTV's Headbangers Ball the night the world premier of Welcome to the Jungle came on. I actually used to record the Headbanger's Ball (all the bands I liked) & have the world premier of it still on a vhs tape! I have a Live at the Ritz recorded too!
The Whisky is not where they filmed "Welcome to the Jungle" They filmed the band performance at "Scream" at the Park Plaza Hotel. I worked as a sound engineer at the Whisky years ago and can verify this is NOT where they shot the video. Sorry to burst your bubble! The Whisky room and stage is tiny compared to what is seen in the video!
I loved them too - Appetite For Destruction is still one of my favourite albums. Not one bad song! I remember when You Could Be Mine was released and I nearly got caught speeding in my car because I was rocking out to it and getting carried away!
Thank You Jordan For Showing Us This Great Filming Locations. This Is One Of My Favorite Groups... This Is Also One Of My Favorite Songs... I Was A Pro Wrestler For 17yrs And When I Started This Was My Entrance Theme... I Love The Fact That You Showed Us All Of These Locations... Thanks Again For Being One Of The Best Vlogers In The World.... Your A Great Story Teller.
Awesome vlog Jordan! I really like ur location vlogs, story telling & matching up photos. So interesting to hear how GNR came to be. Steven Adler was on a reality show a few years ago, (Dr Drew) and honestly I didn't even know who he was at the time, but he was such a down-to-earth, kind man, couldn't help but like him. When I saw him in the wedding vlogs, I could see he still the same kind and humble, gentle guy. Great that you met him Jordan. Have a good day!
Awesome. It's a longer vlog. I love Guns N' Roses. One of the concerts I went to in the early 1990's broke out in a riot. Great vlog. Lots of wonderful information. I'm glad you got to meet at least a couple of the guys.
Still listen to Guns & Roses to this day, never gets old, especially like watching the official music videos with the songs, 🤘.Hahaha, same for Twisted Sister, I like watching their music videos too 4 some reason🤨 😄. Great vlog Jordan.
I was born in LA ! So all those concerts and music spots tug at me! Cause I know I missed that there! Moved in 1966 when I was 8 to the Seattle area where I saw a lot of concerts! Dad for saw ahead a drug problem with us! Got us out of there! We still found all of that in Seattle! But at least brother Dave mad it until he was 45 before succumbing to his addictions!
Can't beat 80's, rock, guns and roses and motley crue, la guns, were and still to this day my favorite bands, loved the 80's, great vlog, again took me back to my wilder years.!😎🐕
My goodness you have some epic photos! So cool. This vlog rocks. Thank you for sharing your memories and this history with us. You made me feel that I was actually there.
Ah, the days of smoking! Peter Buck (R.E.M.) asked me for a light one night at -- it may have been the Cat Club. I don't remember the club but it was great!
I ended up doing the same. guns and roses and Hollywood turned this Nebraska girl upside down. i made it to Los Angeles when i was 22. stayed 6 years and then came back to the midwest but the memories i made during that time i treasure.. when the Album came out i had to leave it with my boyfriend at the time. i have also ran into Duff ( nicest guy ever) on my 24th birthday at FM station. he was awesome kind to me and the guy i was with Jim and toasted me on my birthday. i have seen Slash at the Rainbow but didn't approach. he was with CC from Poison and well you know. the first time i was at the Rainbow we got a seat neat the video " GNR table" and i met the Scorpions. also very cool guys.. i have a ton of Rainbow memories along with the other venues in Hollywood.. Thanks for this.. and all your vlogs
to explain- i was still under 18 when Appetite came out ( 87) and my parents were very into keeping stickered music out of the house and with appetite i had to give it to my boyfriend at the time or they would have tossed it. my name is Michelle too.. and he sang the chorus of My Michelle to me in class one morning.
Back in 91 MTV had a big contest to giveaway Axl's condo in West Hollywood, I never did hear who won it but I remember the commercials very well because Axl was in them talking about it :)
It's 2022 an in November guns an roses are here in Australia,we have had tickets for couple years since COVID but now their finally coming down under, can't wait, love all your vlogs Jordan.
Guns and Roses weren’t my kind of music in high school, I listened to punk mostly, but I appreciate your passion for them. We actually made a Welcome to the Jungle parody song, but I only remember parts of it. “Welcome to the supermarket, we got what you need. Just grab yourself a shopping cart and slide in on your knees! We got rows and rows of food, for your hunger mood...”. That’s all I remember 😄
Thanks Jordan. Never knew anything about them. Thank you for being so knowledgeable on their history. I alway learn new things from you. I do remember the girls with gogo boots in cages at the whiskyagogo. Very popular place in 1966.
I'm right there with ya Jordan behind Elvis these guys were my heroes growing up. I was born in 79 so I was just getting into other music that wasnt Elvis when Jungle came on MTV and radio and I was hooked. I've never met any of them or seen them live but hope to one day.
You got me hooked on Gram and thru him Emmylou just downloaded several albums of theirs. Now I will check out Guns all this at 67 lol. It’s a awesome vlog so much information about them. None of your vlogs are ever too long. As always Jordan THANK YOU you never let us down.
I ended up stealing my brothers copy of appetite for destruction. I was about 10 or 11 at the time. This is probably the only albumn I can listen to in its entirety without skipping a single song!
I got appetite for destruction for Christmas when I was 7 right when it came out. I used to take my mom's broom and go in my room crank the tape beginning to end. and pretend I was in the band . I'd love to meet those guys one day too !
I'm laughing thinking of you at age 8 wanting "Appetite for Destruction" for your birthday! I'm with your mom as far as saying no, at least she did at first 😉. My grandson is that age now, and I don't want him heading to the Sunset Strip, I'd better hide my GnR albums! (A little bit of projection on my part haha!) Great video, Jordan, your back stories are amazing and you really draw us in. You've met so many incredible people and have seen and been to such phenomenal places, it's so enjoyable to "come along" for the ride! Love to the Jahster, of course!
That history was pretty interesting! The only thing I knew about Guns N Roses was the Welcome to the Jungle video that MTV played back in the day and that I always liked to dance to that song. Thanks for sharing Jordan!
Great vlog!! I'm in Cincinnati....Welcome To The Jungle is the home anthem song for the Bengals (football team)in Paul Brown stadium.....so iconic of a song that when they tried to replace it with a Katy Perry song (Roar), there was practically a citywide riot and they switched back the next season and not been attempted to be changed since. Thanks Jordan!!
What amazing stories bro! So jealous. Much like you I have been a fan since I was around 8 or 9 years old. My uncle gave me their first album on cassette and I've been hooked ever since. I can remember singing Mr Brownstone not knowing what it was about. I used to picture a old man in a brown suit doing sort of a jig 😂
So, Jordan, you're a bad boy at heart! 😁 It's the quiet, unassuming ones ya gotta watch!! I've known a few!! lol Love hearing folks introduction to rock n roll and the experience around it usually never disappoints!! 😁 love your story
Jordan! I'm loving this vid! I'm 46, first heard them in 8th grade and never looked back. Caught them with Skid Row in Birmingham Al in 91. Skid Row was worth the price of admission but GnR was a shit show. I was so let down but all these years later, at least I can say I saw them, so that's something. Oh and, i have my Appetite tape along with the artwork. Its well worn and lives in my "treasure box" in the top of my closet.
Never knew much about Guns and Roses. Great history lesson. I do know about the Wiskey. Went there in the 60's and when there was a Pandora's Box and Loved the Troubador and still thank goodness it's still there. So Many great spots then and still now. Also the Pasadena Civic had many great bands. It was such a magical time.
Hey jordan...been a big fan... I used to live in silver lake bk in 2005 and used to take my dog there lol.i missed l.a. just not the traffic. I worked at the music center down town . Keep up the great vlogs babe
Up until now I have never had hot or cold feelings about Guns N Roses. I say up until now because this vlog has really been so informative and in an exciting narrative that I am going to look up some of their music. I remember when they became a national sensation thirty years ago and yes, I do remember when they finally broke into MTV and the news that made. Great vlog and done in a very professional way that I am almost ready to call myself a new Guns N Roses fan.
the live parts were filmed at the park plaza hotel, guns n roses refused to mime their instruments for music videos so they played a mini concert, jungle was played twice, here's a vid of the shoot th-cam.com/video/tEXjx71YHy4/w-d-xo.html
Wow ! One of your best vlogs ever ! As you know I adore Guns and Roses and im so jealous you have met them ! I had the third tshirt you had I brought it from HMV in 1990. Need to get another one . I had that album too on casette. love the original cover art . I love November Rain too amd welcome to the Jungle .
Wow Jordan what a life you've had. I'm sure many of us would have liked to had your experiences. I remember in the late 80s a young guy I worked with telling me about this new band that he said was going to be huge. He lent me Appetite for Destruction and I was immediately hooked. I still consider Welcome to the Jungle one of the top five rock songs of all time, but who doesn't? Really really enjoyed this vlog. I've read both Slash's and Duff's autobiographies and after reading them I'm amazed that they actually lived through all their excesses. Can't wait to walk those streets and see the places you showed in this vlog someday.
I like the 5 songs you named from Guns and Roses 🌹🎸 thanks, Jordan 🦁. (Welcome to the jungle, sweet child O’mine, Paradise city, Patience, November Rain ) Loved Slash’s guitar solo!
First became aware of the song when it was part of Jim Carrey's Ozzy/Iggy/Axl video session (with Liam Neeson!) in the final DIRTY HARRY film, THE DEAD POOL (Great!). One of the GREATEST Hard Rock Songs! And a FITTING song to highlight your return to the insanity of LA after the laid-back beauty of Mexico. Welcome BACK to the Jungle, Jordan!!! (Hope you get to go back to Mexico SOON, you REALLY seemed to love it a lot!)
Guns N Roses most amazing band of rag tag musicians that worked hard and lived their dream. Its cool how Axl is subbing in for Brian Johnson in AC/DC, even cooler that you've been able to vlog some of them and shared with us! I told you that Jah was going to be a star ! lol picture up at Tailwaggers...so cute.
Great vlog, I’m a huge GNR fan as well and basically moved out to LA because of them too (probably around the same time as you)! I have some great Slash stories from hanging out in Hollywood. Their original drummer was Rob Gardner, not Richard Gardner btw. And the day the band signed to Geffen, they found Axl sitting on the roof of the Bank of America, right next door to The Rainbow, not The Whiskey. Small details, but just an FYI! PS: I love Chinese Democracy too. Highly underrated album that would have been huge had it been an Axl Rose solo album. I think it’s a fascinating glimpse inside the mind of a genius who completely self destructed and blew up his band and his life, left alone with way too much money to record the craziness of what’s going on inside his head. Imagine being a fly on the wall during “The Wilderness Years” as people call that time period from around 1995 to the early 2000s. Just awesome.
Awesome Vlog and Band!!! I hope you get to meet Axl one day that will be so cool!! I rock out to them and others a lot keeps me young!! Thank you for this 🦁❤️
Great vlog Jordan! They definitely had some great hit songs! Every time I listen or hear welcome to the jungle song I automatically think of The Terminator movie! lol
Welcome to the jungle video was filmed at a club called The scream that was in the park plaza hotel. I was there that night.
Now The MacArthur?
That’s what I thought-but they keep pushing the Whisky. The Whisky is way small.
im 62 yrs old and still love guns n roses
I just saw GNR Live last friday night in Miami
liar

Awesome :) That album was the 1st. cd I ever bought, $5.oo at a pawn shop in 1993 :) I still have it, and listen to it in my car :)
cool video man. I have to point out though that the live footage of the band playing was shot at 80s hard rock club Scream, then held at the Park Plaza Hotel, not at The Whisky. I lived for 8 years in LA, also got to meet them. Was cool to see the bus scene location there! Cheers.
AFD is one of the best albums ever. It still sounds fresh 30+ years later.
This is amazing dude! We were blaring GNR on the stereo at work Friday! Metal Jay is gunna love this.
Tampa Jay na..na..na...na naaaaaa....neeeee..neeeeee....*(axel voice)
Jordan also did the filming location for November rain..so cool, I wonder if the grave yard scene was filmed in Hollywood too?
Yes, the grave scene was filmed here, but i havent done a video on it.. i may still do the wedding scene from November Rain
Daze with Jordan the Lion RAD!
KLEARSKI THE KREEPER very awesome! Much ahead my friends
That building is definitely eye catching on that corner! Pretty neat to see where that happened. GNR was a huge thing for me in 8th grade.
Thanks!
Aww bless you, little metal head at 7 years old lol.

*Sweet Child O' Mine* and *It's So Easy* were among my favs.
I listened to that tape over and over, all the songs were great and still are.
Thank you very much
Awesome vlog Jordan!
The club they filmed the video was not filmed at the Whisky. It was club Scream located in the park plaza hotel ballroom.
Guns N’ Roses is one of my favorite bands and Welcome to the Jungle brings back all kinds of good memories.

That’s cool that Slash and Duff were so down to earth. I met Sammy Hagar in 1983 in San Francisco and was just as cool. Talked for a few minutes. 🤘
Another great vlog, love Gun's and Roses!!!
Great T's and top hat ! Cool and amazing story, Jordan. Head-bangers unite!

Digging the intro.

Awesome vlog, Jordan! Hope you get to meet Axl some day :)
I was 13 , drinking night train when this tune came out
Up until now I have never had hot or cold feelings about Guns N Roses.
GREAT FOOTAGE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I haven't seen these places before !!!!!!!!!!! :)
the live parts were filmed at the park plaza hotel, guns n roses refused to mime their instruments for music videos so they played a mini concert, jungle was played twice, here's a vid of the shoot

I consider Appetite the greatest rock album of all time.
Definitely enjoyed your vlog of Mexico and the necklaces your wearing are amazing
Great video, and if you realize, that TV store is where Axl was standing and smoking in Estranged video. You can even see the same fences )
Exactly 5:43 min of Estranged video
I know you'll get there!
Enjoy hearing about your experiences and this is the coolest hat ever!
Good morning, Jordan. What a great story. You have a blessed life.
Thanks!
My brothers band played at the whiskey a couple times. Wither. He is Micah Cummins, but all the guys in the band are like big brothers to me.
Clockwork Orange & Midnight Cow boy ..what a great Vlog. Thank you again for sharing.
Youre very welcome!
Very Cool! Rock-N-Roll Baby! Cheers!
Thanks Jay!
Very good vlog Jordan! And very informative about the band,I didn't know any of this so very insightful ! 😊👍
Hi to you both! Thank you again for another great vlog!
❤ THIS BAND
Awesome Vlog and Band!!! I hope you get to meet Axl one day that will be so cool!! I rock out to them and others a lot keeps me young!! Thank you for this 🦁❤️
Great vlog Jordan! They definitely had some great hit songs! Every time I listen or hear welcome to the jungle song I automatically think of The Terminator movie! lol
Well if that is the case then it should of been. lol
Love your research on things ,I check out these sites when I go to LA
Morning Jordan, have a great day!
Wearing my GNR concert tee while watching this AWESOME vlog, thanks Jordan! 🤘🏻
