I can't believe I found this. The original song is the song that got me into melodic death metal. It was a random find. The poor recording quality of the original always made me sad, but it also gave the song something magical.

Until 2011 when Andy revived MPE and released 4 Epic Melocid Death Album while other melodic death bands went mainstream, MPE remained true in sound, melodic riffs, epic orchestra and killer solos. Now the original line up is practicing their old albums because hopefully they will out skill Andy 😅 Don't get me wrong I still admire MPE but we have to give credits to Andy
@@lionrock3 oh I know, I’ve been a fan since 2004. The first 3 albums are my favorite. Gillion era was hit or miss for me but they definitely get more popular with him. I hope at least one more album with this original lineup 🤞

i think Andy leaving was best for both(if it wasn't the way it went down), MPE had became a bit stagnant(all the Andy albums are still good, just little unadventurous), so now Andy has more freedom to compose his own stuff with more epic soundspheres and MPE can try something new with the old guys.
The beautiful energy! That's, what strikes forth and was immediately present, when started listening through this renewed, old song. Pretty much manifests in everything: melodies, riffs, vocals and especially, to me, in the drums, somehow. Originally, when i was still searching my personal interest with genres of music, it was actually the listening of 1-2 songs from Wintersun's 1st album and MPE's 2nd album, that practically shoved me towards metal. Special mention goes to Cleansing Rain, which always seemed to succeed tapping into some extra source of energy and make me drum along the song. And looking at the tracklist, that's the 1st song to start the upcoming album. It'll be an interesting listen. no doubt. I, for one, would've liked to see Andy continue adding his own spice, on top of having the original gang come back together, as it now has done. He seemed to evolve nicely towards MPE's soundscape even, if it seemed to take time to find its way more in there. (Quality was still high across the albums) Sadly, can't seem to have it all under one umbrella, but in the end, there should be plenty of top-notch metal coming out of both ends even, if those ends are now separated. In any case, keep up the good work, both MPE and Andy (in case he happens to be lurking about.) : -)

Leaving all the bs with Andy aside, I've kinda missed the old MEP. The mix of drumming, keys, synths and guitars has always been amazing, anf this new/old song is the proof of that (what the last albums were missing). I think the change is more than welcomed considering they were kinda stagnant. Thx!!!
I hope time will heal the drama on both sides. Politics aside, Andy is a good guitarist and musician and MPE is a melodeath project that has not forsake the main principles of the genre (unlike some melodeath acts). Guitars aside, MPE is also powered by Ville who seems to be running a long distance marathon with those pipes of his! Guitarists like me often forget how important the vocals are to carrying the audience's attention.

the way i seen MPE with Andy was that Andy made ALL the music and Ville added lyrics, now that Andy is out, it's gonna be a long time till we see something really new and exciting from MPE cause they were slow at the music part, I mean they didn't have any music videos till Andy joined and im pretty sure that was his idea.
