This is an exceptional piece of music. Nice dark and old world feeling without all the screaming of most of today's music. The instrumentals seem to have an identity to themselves. Excellent work. Keep it up. Looking forward to more from you all.

If anyone wonders, this song is a tribute to the painting ”Garden of earthly delights”, painted by Hieronymus Bosch. You should definitely check the painting and maybe some interpretations. It will be worth it.
@@93ndani that's really nice. His paintings are insanely filled with meaning and subtile messages. There are literally poadcasts of 1-2 hours long only talking about one single painting and they are only scratching the surface.

The one thing I love about this genre is that it speaks to the soul. So many different ways to go but it all calls clearly that it's speaks to you in the way that music should. Have always loved it and always will.
Yeah is a nice alternarive when you dont want or even need those super speed riffs that traditional metal always have. This song seems nice to me for acompany some creative work stuff and relax moments.
Actually the most traditional metal was moderately slow (and swingy). The super speed came later. Check eg. Atomic Rooster's Tomorrow Night for the sweeping swing that cannot be reproduced in super speed. It is here, too.
(Sorry if this comes off mansplainy) It might interest you to know bagpipes are not a "Scottish thing". There are types of bagpipes from all over Europe, Northern Africa, the Middle East and Western Asia. This band is Swedish. Mikael Lindström is playing the säckpipa (translated to English: bagpipe or sack pipes) which is the Swedish incarnation, two drones and a chanter, where the Great Highland bagpipes of Scotland have three drones (one bass, two tenors) and a chanter. The other type seen in a lot of folk metal are Ullian pipes (Ireland) were the air is provided by bellows, not blowing into the pipe via a tube. (I'm of Scottish decent, too.)
@@deirachel9248 Nah, not mansplainy at all. That's really cool! :D I'm not musically inclined, so my knowledge of instruments is very limited. I do find them very interesting, though. _Especially_ bagpipes.

And they have been used for centuries, from the time in a Kings court, to the battlefields of medieval Europe to WWII, to honor the dead veterans and officers, and now into bands that use them to play heavy metal

I cannot play MMORPGs without this song in the background, it provides total immersion on top of a soothing feeling as well, probably my top discovery of the year
"What if I told you there's a band that combines the singing of viking-chanting-monks, the bag pipes, the herdy gerdy, and a backing band that plays epic dark power metal. Would you be interested?"
Me: *[Buys the ENTIRE album less than 4 minutes into the song]* They'll be getting a sale from iTunes and a comment on TH-cam in 3, 2, 1...
Had the same effect on me! Quite rare to have the first reaction to hearing a new band these days is "I NEED THE ALBUM ASAP"

I'd a recommendation for eluveitie aswell. Not saying they are are better... But they probably are in my opinion.

I was thinking the same thing the first I heard this song.
We need another album from these guys badly
Summer of 2021 their covering the disaster of covid with this type of theme
Time will temper 🙏
They said they’re working on material for a new album like 5 months ago on their FB page. So here’s hoping.
Their sound is tranquil and almost hypnotic. Can't take my eyes off the video. I'm waking in a different, oddly familiar but unknown world. I belong here where I've never been before. I feel new, remade. Glorious.
This is an exceptional piece of music. Nice dark and old world feeling without all the screaming of most of today's music. The instrumentals seem to have an identity to themselves. Excellent work. Keep it up. Looking forward to more from you all.
J Warren agree on the screaming part, modern metal is all about hurting throats and busting speakers
The instrumental is inspired by this medieval song : th-cam.com/video/9ti59NdbG1c/w-d-xo.html
Yo. I like all metal.

this song probably have the best production in all the folk metal
The only thing that i'm sure is about the absolute perfection of this song
Matteo Rossi it's brilliant apart from the bass sounds really lost in the mixing...
Matteo Rossi - too true cx
If anyone wonders, this song is a tribute to the painting ”Garden of earthly delights”, painted by Hieronymus Bosch. You should
definitely check the painting and maybe some interpretations. It will be worth it.
I lived in his city :P
@@93ndani that's really nice. His paintings are insanely filled with meaning and subtile messages. There are literally poadcasts of 1-2 hours long only talking about one single painting and they are only scratching the surface.

You fucking know it
The band Insomnium is good for those moments too.
Slower folk-ish medieval stuff is also nice, for a change.

Maybe it's the Scottish blood in me, but I find the ability to play the bagpipes an extremely attractive skill.
...
Is this just me?
Lol! Not at all! Musical talent is very attractive
(Sorry if this comes off mansplainy)
It might interest you to know bagpipes are not a "Scottish thing".
Just you
@@deirachel9248 Nah, not mansplainy at all.
That's really cool! :D
I'm not musically inclined, so my knowledge of instruments is very limited.
I do find them very interesting, though.
_Especially_ bagpipes.

If we could get this added to the Skyrim soundtrack right now, that would be grrreeeeaaaatttt.
My dog is now a two headed hellhound guarding the gates of the underworld. Thanks Apocalypse Orchestra.

You need a LOT of fantasy to hear Type O Negative in this.
I’ve been dying for some fresh music.
Finally.
Sometimes we forget how real music sounds like. Them bands like this come to remind us. Postponing the Apocalypse of metal.
The bagpipes make me so emotional. I have no idea why. Such an ethereal instrument. Incredible.
And they have been used for centuries, from the time in a Kings court, to the battlefields of medieval Europe to WWII, to honor the dead veterans and officers, and now into bands that use them to play heavy metal
I agree, it fills my soul with something I can't even name!
you know I had yet to hear a bagpipe in metal that worked guys this is beautiful
ummm... Korn? AC/DC?
myrlyn12 I never heard a bagpipe in their songs
Korn Shoots and Ladders
Jeremiah Babcock also 'dead' from 'issues'.
Can't speak for Korn, but AC/DC's "long way to the top" and also Sabaton's "Blood of Bannockburn" both have bagpipes.

The thing I like most about them, is that their name describes their music perfectly.
This is the first time I’ve heard this band and they have a super unique sound. I love Metal and Medieval music along with Classical so I guess this band is a no brainer as far whether I should like them! Very atmospheric music and excellent period correct vocals! I’m very impressed!

For the love of Odin, this kicks ass.
Odin is one of my ancestors.
Tannon Park he was a god... men are not children of mythological gods.. but nice try buddy
xXGameFanaticXx I think you need to look deeper into the Germanic religions. Many groups seen the Gods as their ancestors. Not all groups, and it is debated, but regardless, it is a view that is now sometimes held within the Heathen communities.
Cwealmdréoras this is not Germanic in origin. It's Scandinavian. So no. Not ancestors of gods.
xXGameFanaticXx Once again, you are showing your ignorance. The Scandinavian people are a Germanic people. Scandinavian and Germanic Pagan religion is connected. The Scandinavian god Odin, is the same as Wotan, Woden, Wodanaz, and any other variation of such you can find. They may not be identical but they're linked closely. Now please, I simply tried to get you to look into it, nothing more.

Lol sorry but as an American it is my opinion that to hear truely good music one has to look hard for it.
Most of the garbage being served up here by the mainstream is largely regurgitated themes and notions from other artists/bands.
That's not to say there isn't unique and original material being made, ya just have to search a bit longer for it.
That's why I love youtube and spotify!
