Wow, Vikingur Olafsson and Yuja. I never would've predicted that. He usually does play things more slowly and carefully, which I like. They sound great!
Vikingur Olafsson is my second favorite pianist after Yuja. It's was a gift to attend these two top pianists together two days ago in Paris. You are not completely right with "he plays slower". He himself said that he is a fast pianist and listening to his Goldberg-variations (especially Var.1 you can hear him playing the fastest rendition ever...but it's unbelievable good!!!
Dvorák, Slavonic dance op. 72, no. 2, E minor. Even though this is quite frequently played, there is IMHO something convincing in this interpretation that I haven't always found.
This is standard practice in piano duets that the secondo does the pedaling, because the secondo has the supporting harmonies which are more dense compared to the melodic lines of the primo. By the way, the sustain pedal is on the right, ie nearer to the primo.
Finally a fine looking Lady pianist looking pretty and sophisticated unlike other ladies that show up in the stage without combing their hair ready for a halloween party
