She's a gift to the world of classical music. Classical music may be fine without her but it won't look nearly as good or fun 😍
The scope of her narrative interpretations are almost scary, as she pushes the limits of what is humanly possible with razor sharp octaves, and incredibly moving musicality.. I think She and Trifonov are just inter galactic talents, having attended Juilliard 10 yrs and had a lovely 45 year career on the fiddle I am happy to see such glories from God to carry on this height of artistic expression from Yu Ja Wang

Indeed, Yuja Wang makes many people's lives joyful, including mine.
She delights the male audience with a central show element: the monoleg. She exposes (mostly) the right leg from the ankle to the pubic or almost to the hip. It is understandable that quite a few male fans masturbate while watching the videos.
Another God given prodigy here to enrich our lives.
I just watched this and I have to say, it's truly breathtaking. The level of skill and artistry from Yuja Wang on display here is absolutely incredible. The interplay between the piano and orchestra is particularly impressive, and it creates a rich and dynamic soundscape that is truly captivating. The choice of music was also spot-on, and it really showcased the talent and versatility of all the musicians involved, especially of course from Yuja Wang, a true master of piano. Amazing performances, and I feel privileged to have been able to watch it. Thank you for sharing this!

What enviable, fully realized talent. Yuja Wang may be tired of hearing people gush, but she makes it impossible not to! And I bet most people who like to think they're musicians--maybe even me--are prompted to wonder about inborn excellence, or the wisdom for raising gifted kids, and if those colored or confused the outcomes in their own life. The world of high art is good at bringing bad talent low. When kids are misunderstood, a life can be derailed--or railroaded, which is worse?--or can become something no-one especially wanted.
Is it too early for a martini? Ok, make it a double.
I loved classical music from age 7 or 8, but had to plead with my parents to get a piano, then plead for lessons, etc. It was a struggle to acquire the tools of my happiness, but my sweet mom & dad were working-class folks, and I know they did their absolute best. Then in my exhilaration from pounding out Chopin, I had to disappoint everyone with the news (for them, not me) that though I loved playing great piano compositions, studying music theory and listening to the great orchestras, I hated performing. And no amount of practice was going to produce the natural talent to dissect Beethoven on stage.
I spent years trying to parse this all, but now I believe there are three steps to musical destiny: expectation/frustration/realization, and seven incarnations of musicianship through which every child of St. Cecelia either transits on solar-powered, compostable wings that catch fire and send the feckless cherub plummeting, presto cadenza to pianissimo coda, 88 keys below; or across which she skates, effortlessly, dropping jaws like a Salvadoran samba star who visits Slovakia and aces an ice-skating competition with banana peels strapped to her feet.
The prosaic majority, however, are destined to thrive or flounder as one of these:
1 brilliant, enduring prodigy (Alexander Malofeev, Yuja Wang),
2 precocious but short-fused firework-kid turned piano-bar star,
3 admirable musician of hard-won, tenured academic competence,
4 professional wedding-party trooper & nighttime Bach & Satie lover,
5 maniacal student of composition, counterpoint & Stockhausen,
6 hard-working musician of well-earned soirée & jazz-club regard,
7 lovable looney of magnificent mediocrity (Meryl Streep's Florence).
I was a coulda-been of all seven, but now I'm a happy-to-be-alone with Handel & Rameau on any rainy afternoon.
The only outcome that's genuinely "wrong" is cutting music education in elementary and middle schools so the comfortable ten percent can snack on another tax break. That's not just wrong, but criminally tone-deaf.
If you love Shostakovich, or Saint-Saens, and would love a Yuja in your life to maybe bring this glorious music to a keyboard near you, then vote for healthy public schools.
I have tears of joy, especially after the "Happy Birthday" at the end!

this is one of those cases where i hate seeing people describing one's specialty as a gifted 'talent'. This obviously takes VERY much hard work and discipline to be this good, and i mean almost a torturous amount of practice. The only talent she is probably gifted is her love for piano, thats what drives her to stand the amounts of practice to get to the next level.
edit: Alright i agree with the replies. Talent goes hand in hand with the hardwork. Even if you put thousands of students to have the same amount of practice as she did, they're still definitely not guaranteed to be at her level. There's a natural fluidity from her.
I use the term "talented" or "gifted" myself, but I must agree with what you said here.
Yep. Every professional musician and everyone with some musical skill knows that talent is only a very small part of the story. Maybe it is the talent that makes you do the hard work 😇. Perseverance and discipline are skills that are more important in music than "talent".

It takes both talent and hard work to get to her level. There are plenty of pianists who have the drive and put in the hard work. The fact that few reach her level proves it requires both.
@cfwin1776, So true! However, sometimes talented people of whatever Art, either they ignore of the gift they are given or as well they don't chase their 'talent', they don't grab the opportunity to take it to the next level! As you said, both talent and hard work need to walk together.

When I first saw her videos maybe a decade ago, lots of comments were about her clothes. I’m so happy that it’s no longer the case. She can absolutely dress however it pleases her. Her talent shines through whatever is on the surface.
