Yes,that’s what I learned that the male mealies fly,Mongrels!!😡 I have started using ‘sticky traps’ that come as a stick that you put into the pot and I have seen unusual flying bugs stuck to it,I’m presuming that might be male mealies, as the infestation has died down a lot since.🤷🏻♀️🤞
Girl! When that Hoya Crassipetiolata blooms you will fall for her!! I promise. Mine bloomed this year all summer long and she is hard to resist. Great walk through. It’s very evident when you are on top of the plants. Enjoy your concerts. You deserve it!!! ❤❤❤
Your pings made me go out and grab a couple! I watched the video where you made the Pingdom and have been wanting to make one since. Just obtained a bowl of my grandmothers that I’m planning on using for one ❤️
wooo excited to watch this while i do plant chores & reorganize my collection to figure out where i’m going to put the 5 plants i ordered this weekend 🫣 bought my first ever hoya (a hoya mathilde!) and i’m crossing my fingers she does well & eventually blooms for me one day!!
I ordered four or five plants that should be here next week they go into my quarantine room for at least a month. Then where you out the in out in general population. I’m double and Trippling plants on the shelves of my plant stand.
Fern, I can't wait to get my 2 new beauty's on Wednesday - thanks again for the 15% stacked discount from Plant Haven! A Hoya Leucantha & Macrophylla Pot of Gold :) Wow, 11:32 she is stunning. I've always hated begonias for being granny plants, but got a pinkish coloured one - I thought I try one bc of you, and she has really grown on me, super easy to grow. But that Lucerne is truly amazing - I had no idea they were that beautiful!
Hello Fern. A little late to the story here. I was at the coast in Oregon with my sister and brother before he left for Los Angeles. It was beautiful. Warm in the fifties. Very light breeze. I needed only a light weigh jacket. Gorgeous day. So forgive me for being late to the party. 🎉 😊
Obsessed with your collection, these are my favorite videos to look forward to! All your Hoya look incredible and I think you’ve just inspired me to get a philo Serpens with that stunnnnning new pillowy leaf ❤
Thank you for pointing out where to find flat mites. It’s so helpful for people. Sadly, I recently discovered this. I’m hoping the Safers ready-to-use spray sulfur will work. It doesn’t smell and no mixing
Hi Fern, so sorry to hear about the flat mites. Have you seen that Bios now has a liquid sulphur concentrate. It does have a mild sulphur odor, but not too bad. It's so much easier to work with. I'm so over the pests right now, I let thrips get way out of control.
I love begonia’s too the Angel wings. I just bought Cracklin Rose I’ve been obsessed with since seeing yours you had she’s gorgeous! My Black Friday shopping video coming out today shows her you’ll love her. ❤
If you want more leaves on your KOS, you should increase the pot size by double if not quadruple and cover that stem into the soil and wrap moss around it. Anthurium love moisture and they’ll reward you greatly. ❤
I love this video and all your video really! I had a flat mite outbreak on my Hoyas! 😱 I noticed some were dropping leaves. Ugh, I think I’d rather mealies. 🧡🌱🧡
🫢I use nanofoamer’s milk frother for whisking matcha, treating them as oat milk gives the most beautiful “crema”like what you see on traditional matcha. Other brand called Dreo has a great milk frother as well. These 2 brands are the newly emerged milk frothers designed for milk for espresso, the way they work is different from traditionally electronic frother, making the matcha or milk foam very silky.
@@wildfern Discolor and I had a brief affair many years ago, my current heartbreak is the "Sea Turtle" variety, which I think is the nigrescens, the dark velvet with one stripe.
Have you tried sizing up begonia Sarawak in a prop box first? I’m getting a cutting as big as I can before transferring to a cloche. They tend to melt 😭
I had my Hoya compacta go limp and flat. It was getting enough, but not too much water. 💦 it finally died. I know it had mealies and it’s hard to get into the crevices.
Hello Fern, I realised some of your hoyas grow in Sphagnum moss and some in potting soil? Any tips on growing in Sphagnum moss? As I’m planning to shift divide some of my Hoya Sunrise into Sphagnum moss. Thanks!💚💚💚
Ok Seriously considering putyibh in a grow light on the ceiling. But I have to save money for the electrician I don’t want cords running across the ceiling. Right now I’m saving for a trip to Virginia is for my 50 year reunion. I went to my tenth. Ive not been back since then. Then I save money for an electrician
Stunning plants! Why not try trailing the Indonesian mint Adonsonii around the mirror or just let it crawl on the edge of a shelf along the shelf horisontally? Or somehow crawling across top of window or windowsill. I'm not fond of the plant's colouring or look, but since you are, maybe find a way to mask its sparseness.
Awe I hate that Greta had the white demons but before you put another plant around the mirror make sure to clean and treat in ALL the crevices. Mealybugs will lay there egg sacks on hard surfaces and thus they can hatch and infest any new plant you put there. I learned this from Houseplantjournal. He had a really informative post on his website about them. And thank you so much for these amazing videos❤❤

Your plants look great! That is so unacceptable that mealy bugs fly...I betta not EVER see such a sight. Does that matcha tea really give you energy? I need more energy. I think the scindapsis would look cute around your mirror. And you need to go ahead and mail me that mellanobullata....nevermind, I proabably would kill it.🤣🤣

I like the little picking flower. They remind me of the flowers you drew as a child.

The kallax shelf looks so good with the anthuriums on it!! 😍

The Hoya GPS 7240 is the first one I actually bought. It just really hit a soft spot in my heart. I hope yours survives. All my best wishes to it.

There's these cool bookcase brackets by Umbra where you can stack your books vertically. You should look into some of those for your collection.

can you tell us all of the online plant stores you order from
The vanvienghensis is a very cute Hoya.

it depends on the plant, often compost them but if it's a nice one we'll usually give it to a friend :)
