I really love fern to show us not perfect anthuriums. It's the same case with everyone. But many influencers only show their success. Sometimes, their success is newly bought. I love the honesty of fern. That is part of the value of her show, and why I keep coming back. Fern is not showing plants she just bought. Fern is keeping them for a long time. I love the journey and I learn from her journey! Valuable!
@pudik2008 I've been watching her for many yrs. She's my fav bc she's so humble, sweet, and just real, u know? Wish her subs wld explode in number bc she deserves it!

How nice to see what those babies turned into! Incredible. The lacklustre velvety one that you don't like is the prettiest to me. Shows how taste can differ. You've come a long way from that struggling clarinervium (?) you had in the corner of your old bedroom. Just look what you've achieved in the meantime!
@@wildfernI’m taking a screenshot of this video to show my hairdresser how I want my fringe/bangs cut.I’m Australian so we call it fringe 😅 He’s not getting what I’m trying to explain to him the style.Hope it works.🤞🩷
Your CrymagxLux has an inflorescence. That could totally be the reason the new leaf is smaller. It takes a ton of energy for the plant to grow them. If you don't want to use them it's always best to cut them off.
Oh trueee that could def be why! I stopped cutting them off because I heard people saying not to cut them off but there's so many mixed opinions so idk anymore 😂
@@wildfernI think it’s putting all its energy into the inflo. If you want to have higher leaves and your not planning on collecting pollon or going to pollinate something else, if were me I’d cut them up. 😊
@@wildfern you can just try it out and see for yourself what works. There is zero harm in that. The sooner you cut it the better in my experience. Just growing that thing costs a lot of calories if you think about how much fat=energy needs to go into a seed.
I just read on discord and wondered if I can watch it now before sleeping or in the morning because it's 23:24 in the 🌙 and I bought my first Anthurium Magnificum today! I know I'm gonna love this video 🌿💚
@wildfern no problem at all, I don't have a really consistent sleeping schedule thanks to nursing 😂 when I started with my collection I thought that anthuriums are overrated 🫣 now I can't stop collecting them and I'm pretty sure I got heavily influenced by you 😂😂😂😂 you have some really awesome plants 👌💚

I found a video this weekend by a guy who repots his Anthuriums every 6 mos into larger containers to get them to size up. They are huge and gorgeous! I only have one baby Anthurium and I doubt I will collect a bunch of them for that reason!
Hi Fern!!! Thank you so much for making this video I remember the first time I seen your A. crystal mag lux plant and I fell in love and I just had to do my research on anthuriums and anthurium hybrids I can’t wait to get my anthurium collection started. I must say the A. Crystal Mag lux, A. Lux and A. Palidiforium plants are the plants that stole my heart ❤
You are making it too hard for me to not buy anymore anthurium. I have 2 and I have managed to grow one from seed.. Fingers crossed it grows big so I can be proud of my efforts. Thanks for all the videos you are giving us.. Be gentle on yourself and don’t burn out 💖🌱
You should get a Queen because I was always so nervous and then worked out my anthurium care pretty well (have my small ones in no drainage and then move them to drainage) so I got a small queen pretty inexpensive $40 US, which looked kinda dry at the time but it was super dark and narrow so I knew it could be nice-a yr later it’s doing great in my ambient humidity around 65% so far and sizing up. It’s still in no drainage-layer of Leca at the bottom, tree fern and soil mix in the middle, topped off with tree fern. I’ll keep it like this through winter and up-pot in the spring. You can totally do it-It’ll do great in your care💚
I have had a Veitchii for 2 to 3 years now. It has been very easy. It does have long petioles though and takes up alot of room. The leaves are not quite as long as I would like but they are definately going in that direction. Mine does not put out a lot of leaves but it holds on to them for a long time without crisping. Good video. Nice to watch one from a non anthurium nerd.
I have a huge Anthurium villenaorum. I love it, it's so easy going and it never gets crispy leaves. The only thing i don't like about mine is it doesn't have prominent veins like I see in some pictures online. I bought it from Ecuagenera but other than that I highly recommend you get one.
I found to help the crispy is to keep it moist. If you repot it layer it with Moss and a lot of moss on top with a covering. I started doing this for winter preparation and my Anthurium love it even my Queen who is growing a new leaf in November!
All of my 20ish anthurium live in leca, except two that live in pon and one that lives in orchiata. The only one on the struggle bus is the one in orchiata. All my semi-hydro ones are thriving and pushing new stuff constantly. Make the switch!
Thank you Fern for this video. Even though I’m not into anthuriums. I enjoyed this video. You have a bunch that were really beautiful. If I were to get one, I’d pick one if the ones you showed. I just couldn’t decide which one ❤❤❤
Moodeanum is being moody! I got my Villenaorum only today, so no experience, but I do love it. 💓 Love the bumpy texture and the dark colour of the leaves.
Wow, Fern! You are a video making machine! This one was fabulous 🎉 I didn't realize you had so many anthurium! Take care of yourself! Don't overdo it! ❤
LOVE this video as I've just gotten into anthuriums!! I just got the crystallinum x magnificum, pterodactyl and wendlingeri this week and used to have a veitchii but unfortunately lost it because when I went to repot it I realized it had literally like no roots even tho I had just bought it🥲 I couldn't save it but hopefully I'll find a new one somewhere soon because I definitely want to give it another go!!👀 Can't wait to see updates on yours as it grows!:)

Fern, I wish I could show you a picture of my Veitchii!! I’m in central FL and it’s my West facing window. It’s a slow growing but I’ve had it for maybe 5 months and it’s produced 2 leaves, another is coming forming too. I don’t water super often and it’s in ambient humidity, which down here is usually 40-60. I feed it every third watering with DynaGro. I hope that helps!!
my anthurium vittariifolium didn't do anything for months until I put it into my West facing window. Now she's thriving and huge!! She definitely loves the high light (I'm in California fwiw). It also takes a LOT of water, potentially because of the high light conditions. There was a time that I thought I couldn't overwater it she's so thirsty :o hope that helps? Hi Fern!! Loving your anthurium collection 🌱!! They have gotten so big!!! Regarding wishlist ones, wendlingeri are gorgeous, just keep in mind there are different varieties (just in case you are dreaming about the marvellous Rousseau Plant Care one), Mick Mitty did a video "Pendent Anthuriums 101" Minute 2:27 and talks about his collection with multiple wendlingeri. Also, if it was already affordable get a queen :D or a queen hybrid. They are sooo gorgeous. And I feel you already grow fantastic velvety anthurium so you both should be great ♥
I just up potted my big monstera. That or was easy and I was abject straighten out the poke so it’s upright. It was getting very tippy. But I was unable to get the second pole in because I don’t have three hands. I need one to pull the monstera away fro the pole it was crushing and then I can add the second pole. So I made the pole now it just sits there, drying up. 😮but I’m glad I up potted it. I had roots coming out the the bottom of the pot. So it’s now I. A 10 inch pole. I thought I’d share with you since I’d told you how I was afraid to do it. Turned out to be really easy. lol 😂
Love your anthurium collection! I'm anthurium-curious and think I'm ready to take the plunge. Can you do an intro to anthurium video with information, care, and propping info? I'd love to see that.
I think it's astonishing how many anthuriums you got and how good you are at hiding them. Like, I thought I knew most of your plants and then there are 20 random anthurium where I only thought of like 5 😂 maybe I didn't recognize them always, because sum are quite similar to each other and I just thought that you place them somewhere else from time to time 🙈 i'd love du see more about them like how you care for them und more details overall
I’m not good with anthurium but the ones that catch my eye every time is clarinervium, king of spades and Dorayaki. Fave being clari cuz they look like bouncing little faces.
My vetchii is also like... Light lime green like yours. And it's SO SLOW. So slow. It has been really chill as far as care goes like I water it when it's dry and it vibes by some Barina lights but it's just... So slow. And very lime green. These anthurium are all soooooo pretty!! Not me looking on Kartel Daun now... 👀 Edit: I have a Villenaorum and it's a pretty easygoing guy. It definitely prefers cabinet conditions if you can give them, mine has been pretty slow going because I can't give him the cabinet in the winter (but he loves being outside in the summer). You can get a good sized one on Ecuagenera!
After this video my Veitchii started putting out a new leaf and I was like yayyy and then it broke off when I took it out to water it lmao 😩 so annoying. I hope both of ours start to take off soon!! And thanks for the info on the villenaorum 🫶
I have Two baby anthurium, not the cool leaf types Fern has, but the cheaper florescent types. One is in constant bloom since I got it, which is kinda cool. But I've gotta admit the leafy ones here in Russia are SO EXPENSIVE and I don't feel confident enough to try them for the moment. Though this video makes it difficult.
you can definitely put them on poles, but they'll grow a lot slower than something like a philodendron or monstera :) always worth a try! I see lots of people grow anthurium warocqueanum on a pole.
Such great plants you have there. Been getting a lot more than I should into hybrids. :D Also, I might have just ordered two small Warocs. I have a big one, but it barely holds on to one leaf. It's so ugly. So I am thinking maybe I should try seedlings. Well, they are in 6cm pots with 5 to 6 leaves. AAAAAHHHH I am nervous! :D PS: Also a huge Pali fan. Mine is in the kitchen and it's not quite as long as yours, but getting there.

Love Anthuriums from a far! I do have a very select count of 4, 2 strappy and 2 Forgetii hybrids and in love 🌱💚
Thanks!
Hey, thank you so much!! 😊
@7:30 maybe the leaf is not getting as big is because of the flower 🤷🏻♂️
I agree. I only let them flower once, then I chop any flowers after that if I don't intend on pollinating.
48:05 beautiful. Love the round leaves. 😊
I found that once my veitchii acclimated I started to get larger leaves.Much easier to acclimate than the queen.
oh good to know :) glad yours is doing well for you!
Lmao gurl this is the last video I needed to see 😅 I unveil my wishlist like a scroll
Edit: I have a Villenaorum and it's a pretty easygoing guy.
Awesome Video! I have my luxurians in pon and she Like it i think.
what is the camera that you use to film/unboxings? thanks.
Your veitchii is stunning.
That’s a pretty badass shirt 🤘🏽🌱
Thank you 😊
@@wildfern who’s the designer or brand? If you don’t mind sharing your source 😉
I just started the video so idk if you mention it…but which anthurium would you recommend a newbie?
pallidiflorum if you like the long leaves 🖤 doriyaki silver is also very easygoing & stunning! :)
@@wildfernI life the doryaki with its bid silvery veins
We are all on the same journey to reach at least one or two perfect leaves 🍃. I'm usually the problem. I can't always blame the dang pests. 😂
😘💖 YAY ANTHURIUMS 🥹
woooohoo!!
Nice collection.
Thank you so much :)
Which miracle grow fertilizer do you use !
Love your lip color! Could you share what you use?
Thank you! It’s the Sasha lip duo from Colourpop :) colourpop.com/products/sasha-lippie-kit
Do you plan on taking the Goliath x forgetii out of your cabinet, at some time?
This 🤌🏾!
Could you do the same for your alocasias
I just made my first ever moss pole for an antherium I got. Now I see you don’t use any for yours. Do you think mine will benefit from a moss pole?
you can definitely put them on poles, but they'll grow a lot slower than something like a philodendron or monstera :) always worth a try!
Ahhh fingers crossed for your new warocs :)
