My Queen Playlist! • Queen
In this Stone Cold Crazy guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this classic by Queen note-for-note.
Brain May created one of the greatest guitar riffs in recorded history for the main riff to "Stone Cold Crazy". For many, this is the very first thrash metal song ever written. It also goes to show just how varied and unique Queen's musical output was. From thrash metal to the operatic to the soft romantic ballads, they left no stone unturned.
This incredible opening riff moves very fast and can be a bit of a challenge to get up to speed. Try to lock into the groove and the feel of the riff first before ramping up the speed. That will make it much easier in the long run.
The solo is drenched with long delays, multi tracked guitars and cool stereo effects, but I have broken it down phrase-by-phrase and will show you something similar to what Brian May plays live.

@@ZazaManJacky if you’re referring to the first heavy metal band then yes, that is Black Sabbath as they were the first ones to strictly play metal. What i was talking about is what is considered the first heavy metal song ever recorded and that title belong to the Beatles with Helter Skelter.

i came here specifically for that missing note you point out. though i always thought it was an F not (1st fret on low E) I wanted to see how other people transitioned from that F to the power chord.. Now I see its much easier with an open E instead, thanks!
F and 1st fret on low E is the same thing tho...
Should follow it up with Budgies "Bread Fan" from 73 which some people can argue is about the same caliber... early thrash style

As always great job on your side, I was wondering if you could do a lesson on the outro solo of sway by the Rolling Stones/Mick Taylor because nobody has done a lesson on it yet and your tutorials are almost always 100% accurate to the original and to me, its one of the best and most underrated solos of all time but I would also like to know your opinion about the solo. I know the tabs about the solo are out but I find it incredibly difficult to read the timing out of this. Regardless, have a nice day and keep up the great work.
