Haha... I guess it depends on the riff. I actually pay someone to put a gun to my head everyday to make sure these lessons keep coming out daily. :).. It's a lot of work but also a lot of fun finally seeing people start to realize everything that is going on with my channels. We truly are 365 now, every single day of the year there will be new free lessons. :)
I think I finally became good at guitar. When I started out few years ago this would literally have been impossible for me. Now just after a few minutes of practicing I almost got it.
Gamer du Québec that’s because it’s not a hard riff, if you had been able to learn the song from ear, it would be a different story. Keeping my comment short, there will always be a higher level to your skill, you can never truly master or be good at something, you can only get better.
I had a similar feeling the other night when I was able to play "Dead Leaves on the Dirty Ground" after watching a simple video a few times. Feels good man, keep practicing.
This was one of those riffs i always wanted to learn but didnt know how to do and just assumed it was way beyond my capability. But after watching the video ive already almost got it down! Thank you!
It really takes some practice getting those pull offs just right. Pulling too hard makes it difficult to play as fast as you're supposed too, and a light, superficial pull just sounds weak.
bd0111 I just released part 2 yesterday! Here is my Iron Maiden playlist so you can find the videos. The solos to "The Trooper" will be coming in the next couple days. Thanks for watching! th-cam.com/play/PLOBqO_KghqI6F1VHTuWN-mPIVRg0785kY.html
Carl, Your lessons are truly the best, they have helped me tremendously, I sincerely Thank you very much. And i just want to emphasize something very important....Aside from the great lessons, your comments in the descriptions of the songs are very helpful, informative and inspiring. Thank you again.
It was 4:15AM and I couldint go to sleep cause rhis riff was stuck in my head so i learned it under 10 and finally got some rest, thank u Carl! Now I can sleep😌
This riff was not nearly as hard as it sounds. The swap between power chords was harder for me than the pull offs. This guy breaks things down so well!
I love the way this guy teaches and the camera angles also help. I just learned this I’m going to add it to my warmups then soon I will learn the full song
Give up and play videgames... or train train train... i am 8 months in and believe me you will learn fast but you will hit a huge wall that stays with you. Since 2 months it feels like i dont make progress. Keep playing ... ( i play nearly every day )
+OG Olster cool! best of luck. oh wait.. there is essentially zero luck in learning guitar.. just work and sore fingers. i love it! it only hurts to stop playing haha~
So far the riffs i know in order: Smoke on the water (do that first) seven nation army (doesnt everyone?) and next I am going to do brain stew and californication before this. Start small because then its a lot more exciting
You are playing two hammer ons in the first set when you are playing in the beginning and 4 during the slowed down "how to" version. So which is it? Are there 8 total hammer ons or 6?
Great! thanks so much for sharing! i wanna try to learn this intense song on guitar. your video is easy to follow for beginner/intermediates such as myself. you saved me time and i can enjoy playing sooner~
HELLO! hey, when im doing the quick little 787878 bit, my 8 hammer-on's are falling really quiet, am i not hitting hard enough? or is it a AMP/Guitar setting?
Awesome..thanks...but as I looked exactly, You changed the downstroke at the low E string into an upstroke once You played the riff faster...I was trying myself, how it is easier for me, if I play downstroke or upstroke...Now I play an upstroke..cuz it sounds equally and its easier to play I guess... Thanx 4 Your great videos, greetings from tiny rocking Switzerland 🇨🇭🤘🇨🇭🤘🇨🇭🤘

Carl, how long does it take you to learn a riff now? You've become a madman with these lessons!

You taught it so fast yet still slow enough for us to understand. Great tutorial ! Thank you.
When you do the intro slow, it sounds depressing, don't you think?
Teodor Ticu no
No it sounds like the Benny hill theme that way
I was about to say that. Plus the tones sounds like 💩
Yes just like marty
I know I'm late to the party, but heavy metal is just fast rock music using blues notes. So when you slow it down, it emphasizes the blues base.
I swear my fingers have a mind of their own. I did learn it eventually once I understood what a hand was.
This made me lol

One of my absolute favourite riffs! Thank you for these lessons, you're truly one of the best TH-cam guitar teachers!
Such nostalgia!!! I used to watch these videos all the time when I was first starting to play guitar 4 years ago, these were how I learned!

This is awesome. My new go to channel for learning.
3:20 how do you do the trill with your fingers
Best channel to learn solos and riffs
If you struggle with harmony part like I was, I have a tip for you. Make your thumb push a little more powerful to the neck.
Lol when he does it slow it sounds like wrecking ball

This was so helpful! Thank you!
I've been wanting to play this song for years! THANKS CARL!

Thank you so much teacher for all the guitar tutorials. 🙏🙏🙏
I just love this opening riff. Easy goosebumps for me.
Best teacher ever...
I tought this song is a lot harder to play. Great teaching!
Congrats u got over a million subs!
Thanks so much, I struggled on the best way to play the harmony part and although simple, I've learned it in under 10 minutes!
It’s so funny cause I used to think this was like the hardest song to play but I literally just learned it in 5 minutes
Haha this brought me happyness for a few days, thanks !
Okay - its close enough to 600 likes, lets do the rest of the song now! Thanks for all the lessons!!
Please share the patch for this

You're explaining things really well. Thanks!
5 months of guitar (4 on electric), i'm gonna learn that (or try at least), i'll update ✌

This is my first song that im aiming to learn
+OG Olster cool! best of luck. oh wait.. there is essentially zero luck in learning guitar.. just work and sore fingers. i love it! it only hurts to stop playing haha~
Its a bit tough for a first song. I would aim my sights at "About a Girl" by Nirvana or Brain Stew by Green Day
OG Olster wow good luck the first song I learned was seven nation army and even then I had a hard time learning the rhythm
How's your guitar progression man?
So far the riffs i know in order: Smoke on the water (do that first) seven nation army (doesnt everyone?) and next I am going to do brain stew and californication before this. Start small because then its a lot more exciting
We love you Carl!
Im new to guitar, and this tutorial made it easy to learn this song, thanks dude B)

Fantastic stuff. Thanks for the lesson.
Why not barre the 7th fret on the trills and the 5th fret on the power chords?
Awesome! One of my favorite riffs of all time. Really hope this gets 600 likes, unfortunately youtube only lets me like it once...
Dude this guy is so good

the teaching is great, but if i wanna practice with a metronome, whats the tempo?
HELLO! hey, when im doing the quick little 787878 bit, my 8 hammer-on's are falling really quiet, am i not hitting hard enough? or is it a AMP/Guitar setting?
GAAAAAAAAINNNNNN
Carl SLAAAYER
The Apothecary do you have distortion on? because distortion brings everything to max volume so put on distortion or overdrive.
I think there are hammer-ons and pull-offs
Is this in drop d?
It's hard to get up to tempo , any suggestions other than just slowly upping the tempo?
two fingers on the pick all downstrokes and try lowering the guitar if you're standing
crazy as it sounds , when I transfer to from low to higher 7 fret I do it one pick stroke
Whats the tuning for this!!!!
Probably like drop b😁👍
Could you please make the acoustic medley by In Flames lesson?
