Yeah Schrempf is not being given enough credit for his role in promoting the game in Europe and Germany in particular. He went to the US really early and thus was kinda forgotten by the German public. His popularity was not comparable to Dirk but as you said, he walked to Dirk could run.

Great work man. You put a lot of effort in this interesting career of Detlef Schrempf. Awesome. Enjoyed every Minute. Greetings from Det's hometown Leverkusen.
I remember that summer of 99 like yesterday as a Blazer fan. The news broke we got Schrempf, Pippen, and Steve Smith all in one swoop. It was clear he was older but he had some great games in red & black. Contributed in so many ways. That team was stacked too, so he didn't get the amount of shots he used to, but when he was on, he was smooth and efficient. Great player.
Loved me some Dale Ellis back in the day. I was 6 in 1979 and the Ellis/X/Chambers squad was the first Sonics team I would ride/die with. 7-9000 fans at the old Seattle Center Coliseum. ❤
Detlef Schrempf was a good player who deserves more credit overall because he wasn't a selfish person on the court and he would hustle for plays and defend you just as well. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017 to find me.
I saw detlef lifting weights at u Washington summer 94. And I also saw his routine before games. He looked like he was a consistent worker practicing fundamentals.
Swiss army knife type of player. The shooting at his size combined with the rebounding and playmaking skills, Schrempf really was a player every single team would have wanted.
