Rush Hour Trains at: Kings Sutton, CML, 20/05/22

- A very good rush hour period spent at Kings Sutton on the Chiltern Mainline where we see plenty of services from Chiltern Railways, Great Western Railway and Cross Country with freight from Freightliner and GBRF.
Kings Sutton didn't have a station opened until 1872 even though the line through the village had been built from 1845 to 1850. By 1881 the station had become a junction station when the Banbury and Cheltenham Direct Railway via Chipping Norton was opened, the line stayed open to passenger traffic until 1951 when British Rail withdrew the service, however the line remained opened for freight traffic up until 1964 the same year the station went back to being an unstaffed halt which was how it used to be. During the 1960's British Rail removed the bridge linking the two platforms together and instead built a foot crossing at the north of the station which you can still see to this day, however you can't use it. The foot crossing was in place up until 2005 where a passenger had a very near miss with a passing express train heading to London. Security guards were then brought into place to oversee the crossing but that was short-lived as the very next year a new footbridge was built.

Nice video, loved the variety, especially the 66s, 68s and 70s. The name of 68013 is Peter - Wreford Bush. Also really liked the 165+168 consist towards the start.

Hi Tornado922. Great rush hour film at Kings Sutton. Loved seeing each train give their own variety of "beans" as they went past you. Nice 1-tone from 165124 at 11:39. Correct information for you: at 8:52, 221134 was on the rear of the Cross Country service to Reading. Looking forward to next rush hour film at Oxford. Kind regards, Chris.

See my previous comment. I had a pleasant four hours at Banbury during which your stalker (68010 - Oxford Flyer) turned up on the rear of 1H45, the 1341 to London Marylebone. It's a pity you weren't there as she filled the station with clag on departure - wonderous. It was worth the train fare just to witness that. Earlier I spotted 68014 on the 1R93 to Birmingham Moor Street and on the 1H53 return. One thing that I didn't appreciate from your videos, and this isn't meant in any way as a criticism, is the earthshaking music of a 68's power unit as it takes off, especially when standing right next to it.
Hello there David. I'm glad you had a very enjoyable and productive time at Banbury, it's an amazing to station to come to. It wouldn't be a standard visit to the CML if you didn't have 68010 making an appearance. I don't think filming a 68 departing truly gives it the impression it deserves, you have to be standing right next to it in order to truly appreciate the earth shattering noise it makes when it's pulling away!
Hereford is good in rush hour, there is the class 68/70 log train that comes through weekdays

A rare combination right at the start there and a DRS 68 in this as well I see! You should have put freight from Freightliner, GBRF and DB Cargo UK. Those Network Rail branded yellow container flats are new and they also have brand new ballast wagons as well I do believe. Unfortunately the Cross Country Voyagers towards the end will have to remain a mystery unless anyone can work out the numbers of them! You will have to count me out unfortunately as I've got no idea myself!
I will always take a rare combination any day of the week that's for sure. These new wagons were delivered about 2 months ago from Dollands Moor if my memory serves me correct

They are working for West Midlands Trains now along with the other 172 sub classes.

The best way to get to Birmingham would be Avanti for speed, London Northwestern for the price, or Chiltern for coolness if you get a 68

I don’t live on the CML but I do like the class 165 and 166s so the CML gets my love. But if they remove them, I’m going to be sad

Yes, it is an app called Real Time Trains that Tornado922 uses for all information on where trains are coming from and going to.

7:18 they're actually turbostars not clubmans as they are not 168/0, rather they are 168/3 trains. Great video nonetheless!
