Recently received by the manufacturer for use in British Railway Modelling magazine's practical projects, Phil Parker look at new products from Humbrol.
Hint for you , the chipping and scratching agent could be fairly expensive for the volume you receive. I'm a plastic modeller and I use cheap hairspray, once you've put your top coat of paint on you just use a wet paintbrush. You just spray base colour on, let it dry, then spray the hairspray in the area that you want to have rust, base colour etc. showing through, then put your top coat of paint on and then (once it's dry) you use a paint brush dipped in water and rub the paint with it. This definitely works on acrylics.
Do the dropper bottles have a rattle ball? If not, they can be a nightmare - better in older tins and use a stirrer. On the whole I like Humbrol paints though✌️👍😊

@@world-of-railways Thanks for the feedback👍😊 I like Humbrol paints on the whole for general purpose work. Some of the squeezy dropper bottles without a ball, can be a real chore even with a good shake. So much easier to mix the paint thoroughly when there's a screw on lid Eg Lifecolor (sic) and old Humbrol range et al.

Humbrol smart mud really just looks like VMS smart mud to me

No they don't - but a good shake seems to mix the paint well enough in our tests. Similar paints in other ranges don't either.
