    This version is more faithful to the composer's wishes than other versions, including Lawrence Foster's. The tenor and soprano should sing in Breton. The required distant (backstage) effect of all vocal parts of this work is also more effective than in other recordings. For the sake of chronological accuracy, it should further be said that this work was conceived in 1925 and had been fully sketched by 1929. When this tone poem was scored is uncertain, at some point during the last 25 years of his life.
