Clifford is hilarious. The clips he showed had me laughing out loud. Ebert was way off. It’s like I’m in the twilight zone watching this. How did 150 people all find this unfunny?
I remember hearing of this movie as a kid and wrote it off as another stupid kid's movie that I was getting too old for. Then the Cinema Snob posted his review and I am so glad I bought it on Google Play. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. The surrealism, the dark humor, the magnificent performances by Charles Grodin and Martin Short. It was almost like what would happen if Tim Burton directed Problem Child.
Even as a kid I considered this a guilty pleasure. It was just so insanely weird! I get why most hate it though, since a lot of the jokes are pretty bad.
@@spencer10182 My family has actually quoted that line ever since we saw it. I just mean like that line, the comedy mostly comes from the performances rather than the script itself.
Martin Short said he thought this movie was too weird for the room in 1994 which is why it initially flopped. Nowadays it seems to be a pretty popular cult movie but I can understand it’s unpopularity upon first release. It must have been so awkward to see Short as a ten year old for people in 94. But I think because he has proven more and more to be a very talented comedian over time people can now appreciate him more in the role. I love the movie and most people seem to enjoy it a lot more now but I can understand why it wouldn’t have been Ebert’s or a lot of peoples cup of tea in 94. Like other movies some just get better with time. This one did.
*Clifford was one of my all time favorite movies as a child and I couldn’t help but laugh at the clips he showed. Charles Grodin and Martin Short were amazing together in the most absurdly way possible! Very dark and sadistic humor that apparently went right over Ebert’s head!*
Clifford is one of my all time favorite movies for the exact same reasons that Roger Ever hated it. The more absurd the humor, the better.
Oh how brave that you admit that ... and how sad.

Not even a snicker from me. This movie sucks.
Well I honestly feel sorry for you.
Watch the whole film and you'll see how shitty it is.
@@victorhernandez5749 The reactions to this movie are how I feel about Little Nikki and Shreck 🙄
I saw Clifford in the theater. Everyone included me was hysterical laughing
How sad.
@Larry-z2g The entire theater wasn't sad I can tell you that ..Everyone was laughing
I love this movie. Martin Short is hilarious in it.
How brave of you to admit that. And sad.
I loved this movie

Some of the jokes are great though. Like Grodin mocking Short saying "Any Luck with that Chocolate?! Both Short and Grodin were great together.

None of the jokes are bad. I don't understand at all how anyone could hate this movie. A complete Classic.
This is the sort of thing they could do better in silent movies. (Mary Pickford sometimes played a little boy!)
Charles Grodin is underrated.
You know Chuck Grodin is 54 here? 😮
@@dnasty312 Remember to take off a few years since this film got released several years after they made it, due to financial difficulties at Orion.
And sadly, now he is deceased.
I didn’t think it was bad at all. Martin Short and Charles Grodin played so well off one another. It was hysterical.
RIP Uncle Martin
This is not one of the films Charles will be remembered for.
Okay this movie is not perfect at all, but it’s def not the worst film plus Martin short is great too and I must admit I laughed a couple of times
Yes it is Perfect.
Ebert is a fool. Its one of the most under rated comedys of all time.
This movie is so ridiculous and stupid that it’s good and enjoyable.

I remember this from my childhood. And oddly enough, don't remember much about it.

"Will you look at me like a human boy?!" I ask my cat of this all the time
I would hope that Ebert might have come around at least a little-maybe up to a star and a half-after a handful of years.
Could have been a cartoon
red clifford is big dog
Finely sumbuddy brave enouhg to say what were all thibkj. I like big dog!!!!!
The dog should sue this movie for ruining his good name.
Hilarious movie 😂😂😂
RIP to Charles Grodin, who can be forgiven for making this piece of shit film.
Too bad Roger didn't mention that the film was on the shelf for a few years due to Orion's financial problems. Should've stayed there forever.
I loved this movie. It was hysterical
Ah, that explains it. Everywhere says this is a 1994 movie, but the actual film's credits say Copyright 1991
