I just love how a sheet of corrugated roofing metal a few millimetres thick can stop a bullet in this show. That stuff barely stops rain on a good day!
It helps to reduce visibility in order to aim and shoot at them. It increases the likelihood of missing, so it is effective.
If you look carefully the front plate on the windshield is made of cardboard you can actually see the waves inside the cardboard from the bottom

Always loved the scenes where the guys are ripping stuff apart and putting new things together. It was half the fun of the show.

Just don't confuse them for normal nails like I did. Cost me my favorite hammer. It was my grandfather's hammer. It had 3 new heads and 2 new handles. Boy I miss that hammer. Now I just have to regrow my 2 missing fingers.

There's a whole heap of that nowadays. The Mission Impossible movies have lots of practical stunts, as did Mad Max: Fury Road (the CGI was the eye-catching mountains, not the action).

@@Desslar I honestly don't watch that many TV-series. If I'm not mistaken, shows use LESS CGI because it costs a lot of money to get it even remotely nice-looking.
Practical stunts are even more expensive to do well though. Which is one reason why they have nearly disappeared from TV. The only TV series I can think that still does practical car stunts is the German series Alarm für Cobra 11 .

The cost of the LE Car, the damaged Freightliner and the fuel was probably more than the value of 20 tons of watermelon… meanwhile the other guy has a staff of 20, several pickups and a helicopter 😂

B.A. Baracus sure does turn a Renault Le Car 5 into bulldozer, Hannibal turned it into burned French Toast with the help of his Cigar, and the car ends up in Halicki's junkyard dog or Oscars trash can on Sesame Street.

5 GT Turbo had my eye though. By the time I had the money and was able to get insured on that I was looking at the Clio Williams and Williams II. SHOT UP in price NOW though.
Cartoon physics with MacGyver engineering might get you hurt in real life but was fun entertainment to watch back then. Ooh loved that Amy!

One of these statements isn't true.
In the A-Team universe bullets bounce off normal cars, even normal windscreens, so not sure on the need for metal plate. Oh well, looks good.
Bullets never hit anyone anyway, so who cares in the first place?
The music, the scenes all of it goes, love it, haha.
Question: how does the A-Team turn ordinary vehicles into armor plated, battle machine on wheels, without even using a tank?
Spare parts and ingenuity.
Imagine if they customize a gundam?
A better question is how does that Renault still move with all the extra weight on it?

I had one just like it. Every time I called the auto-parts store looking for parts, they would ask me for what vehicle, once I would tell them, I could hear them laughing on the background.
Le Car, the name that reminds you it really is a car.
And here I thought "Le Car" was French for Shitbox.

I remember this one well
I used to love the show intro where they show a clip from almost every episode. I would sit and say seen it,seen it,seen it, trying/hoping to see an episode that i missed. I feel you though I've seen them all probably four or five times over!
I remember this one in particular cause the curious presence of the lil' Renault
One "minor" design flaw BA overlooked with the "Renault Tank" is that you have next to no visibility through the front windscreen lol!

Ok so the idea of a 'hmmmv' combat turret, actually came from maybe this episode of the A-team. And GTA 5 might have gotten the tire nails idea from this episode also, maybe. Nice history lesson though 👍🏼

Watching this as a kid I never thought in a million years that I’d end up with the same hairline as Murdoch.
The building montages were my favorite part of the A-Team.
We used to watch the A-Team literally falling about laughing. The story lines are so out of this world. How they didn't burst out laughing as they spoke their lines is one of the greatest mysteries ever.

WOW... as i've watched a few of these old vids. i realised that these guys were the original McGuyvers. think about it. almost every episode is them traveling somewhere else to help folks. and usually ends with them building up some sort of equipment, with whats available, to defeat the bad guys.
