I got this on release and I recommend it. Yes it has difficulty spikes but doesn't leave you with the feeling that it is insurmountable. The art is gorgeous, music is good and the over arching world is charming. Definitely worth a go
Graphics seems nice and the sound (as far as the clip went) also. The perfect basis for a potential nice cut'em-up. Gonna snag me some copy of that ... Thx for the review !!
I can't recommend this game as someone who play shoot em ups. The game being designed to force you to use cards are something I am not a fan with yet I can still tolerate that. The worse thing that this game did is making the dash button to be an unlockable, that's like making jump button an unlockable.
I found both games to be enjoyable. This one was more of a single playthru type tho, where Neon White is something I have gone back to consistently to replay. Not much story to NW tho, whereas in contrast, KW has a fairly simple one, but dialog throughout did also provide some nice context/worldbuilding to the inhabited world as well. Hard to say if I could only pick one 4 U, not knowing your own preferences in games.
I said it once and I say it again: if this was made in so called "Pixelart" (also known as "the lazy way") it would be a 9/10! just imagine it for a moment! I am sick of it, that games with high definition graphics get punished for the extra work, while all that`s pixelated gets 8-9.5 easily with much simpler mechanics! be it roleplaying, plattfromer, rougelike or shooter: a simple game is art,. if it's pixelated you get away with less! if the same game is HD with the same mechanics it's a 7 or 8 at best! Celeste, Shovel Knight, TowerFall, The Binding of Isaac - neat games, but they would all be long gone and forgotten, if they had HD graphics - because those have other standards to meet! cause you get away with less with good graphics! just look at the so called nostalgic "8bit" RGPs with one or, at best, to button gameplay! no one using a modern graphics engine gets away with this!
I respect your opinion but I wholeheartedly disagree on pixel art being lazy. It is quite difficult to pull of and animate. I speak of experience on this.
animating pixel art well is more labor intensive then animating other artstyles. It's worth it though because it looks incredible. It has nothing to do with nostalgia either. Think about how much nostalgia there is for the n64/ps1 era, but practically no one tries to make their games look like "ocarina of time" for example. Everyone wishes their game looked as good as "link to the past" though. Also, the shovel knight games are fantastic, especially king of cards.
Yeah, I hate how people completely ignore games like Hollow knight, Ori, Inside, Hades, Ender Lilies, Bloodstained and Dredge just to name a few. While lazy pixeled games like Black Skylands, ElecHead and Dogurai are considered masterpieces.

I think this video failed to convey how much bullethell this game has.

This isn't a review. It's a game description and synopsis
That’s most “reviews” on TH-cam.
I watch camera videos and most of the reviews are just people listing specs.
I came to say the same thing. This is a really bad way to review a game.
That’s why I unsubbed.
Picking this up. Love your reviews👍
Thanks for the review ❤
Thanks for watching
Good enough for me as I'm preordering this right now. Looks awesome.
The ART style is really hot...that pulled me in,but seeing it's a bullet hell got me amped

Im split between this or neon white
I have a feeling this game won't sell well so might be on heavy store discounts soon.

True that
It’s hard to get lost wtf are you talking about, heaven forbid the devs make you “think” a lil bit 😂
is this a rip off of the other popular bullet hell with a magical girl?
No, it's it own thang
