Absolutely spot on - simple technique for timeless elegance in barely more than six minutes. You also have such a sparkling personality :-) thanks so much! liz
Hey everyone, sorry this video is so late! I had so many Christmas plans but last week was quite a week. My grandmother had a fall, my best friend had a baby, and to top it all off my Mom came down with a terrible case of strep throat combined with a nasal infection. As I said, it was quite a week! Thankfully everyone is going to be ok (my grandmother has a couple bruises but no serious injuries, my friend has a lovely new baby boy, and my mom is on a course of strong antibiotics that seem to be working). I’m sure you can all understand why my video is a bit late! There is actually a second festive-themed video which will be out later this week. And hopefully I can find the time / energy for one of the other videos I had originally planned. My Christmas isn’t quite going as planned but I hope everyone else is having a wonderful holiday season!
Lovelovelove! Mum used to do this to my hair as a kid, my hair is fine and thin so I had more rags over my head, I remember the pull as they came out! This is actually simpler than I thought. Going to try this! Thank you so much and hope you have a good end of year
Omigosh! So gorgeous. My hair was longer and much thicker in high school and I wore this style for my Baccalaureate. This brings back such happy memories. I'm growing my hair out and hopefully by next summer, I will be able to wear it like this again. I never used a braid before, only teased it and used hair pins. I'm going to give your how to video a try next summer. 😊
Yes,yes, and yass! Let's bring this style back, you look so good! I agree with the braid idea, when I'm doing fuller styles I use a kanekalon braid or even brushed out yarn works! Anyway, thanks for taking time to do a video, I hope your family is doing better 🙏💋
Thank you for this video. I love this hairstyle since I really love to watch Road of Avonlea and Anne of Green Gables. This style really fits you, and i am going to try it myself. Be blessed.
Thanks so much for the tutorial! It helped me do up my hair for a corset modeling gig where we couldn't safely have a hair or makeup person present. It was a massive help for shooting the Edwardian looks, and I will definitely be using it for historybounding purposes!
Where do you purchase the braid for this style ? Does it come round with the elastic? I like that hair do . But don’t know where to get the braid ? Please help 💯♥️✌🏼
Such a brilliant video! Had to thank you. 1) You make it so simple 2) The videos so we'll done, the sepia tints, music, arrive setting and your relaxed style. 3) you look amazing with it :))) no ta come on BTW as I'm watching as a budding drag queen here in London and I need to channel my inner late Victorian a new character. I'm at the age where I look better with the wig heading upwards ;)
Beautiful!! I love your hair colour as well. May I ask what colour? I hope your grandmother and family are well. Thanks so much for an informative tutorial.
Thanks! I dye my hair with henna. My hair is naturally brown with some grey, so the henna turns the brown to auburn and the grey turns bright red (which gives the effect of highlights).
Your video is amazing! You make it so intelligible, and you look great too! One question: do you use any product in your hair prior to overnight curling? Thank you!
No, typically I just use water. I'll sometimes use a mix of gum acacia and rose water as a setting lotion for a special occasion, but 99.9% of the time just a lot of water works for me :)
Have you experimented with wet-sets? My hair also refuses to hold a curl, unless I use a good amount of water with my set and let it set for at least 12 hours.
Finally. A vintage hairstyle where I don't need to spend 2 hours painstakingly straightening my hair.
gibson girls mastered the messy bun aesthetic

Gosh, that was quite a week! Many wishes for a speedy recovery for your mom and grandma, and big congratulations to your friend!

Yes!! It reminds me of Anne of Avonlea! I’ve always wanted to wear my hair like Anne in that film ❤️❤️
this is the proof that edwardian styles dont need much time and special techiniques
THANK YOUUUU I NEEDED THIS FOR THEATER

Prettiest Gibson on the internet.💗🌸🌼
I love that you played bicycle built for 2 (Daisy❤)

I’m finally early! I enjoyed your video as always!
Wow! You have so nice haircolour!

@@TheLongHairedFlapper thank you so much. It looks really lovely. I hope I wasn't rude.
Very attractive & historically accurate (overnight rag ties, faux hair, heated tongs.) Maybe wood or tortoiseshell combs in addition to pins.
You'll look sweet on a bicycle built for two!
I was singing too as I watched.
I don't have a braid 😭! WAIT! I can use super bulky yarn or triple some worsted weight of a natural fiber/nylon blend and crochet one!😉
That's a great idea!
Love this look💕Great tutorial
So lovely!
This is gorgeous
Perfect!
love it!

I'm pretty sure my hair is too long to do this XD (its knee length) but I'm gonna try lol
My hair was waist-length (uncurled) when I filmed this, so it should hopefully work for longer hair too :)
@@TheLongHairedFlapper it did work!! 😁
Very nice.
Beautiful! ⚘
So pretty
This video is a wonder!
Beautiful 😍
Where did you get the braid?
I bought a bunch of faux hair from Sally's Beauty Supply and braided it myself (adding a bit of elastic to make it stretch all the way round my head).
My hair would never do that when curled and brushed lol
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
My hair refuses to hold curl. It's just aggressively straight.
Have you experimented with wet-sets? My hair also refuses to hold a curl, unless I use a good amount of water with my set and let it set for at least 12 hours.
Great :( I have to wait for my hair to grow
I love that I get to skip step 1 lol
Edit: and step 2
*cries in I am an idiot for cutting bangs in my hair 😩*
*attic setting. spot the dsylexic :0
You are extremely beautiful, by the way
I just realized that Gibby from ICarly’s last name is Gibson so therefor he is the best Gibson girl on the world
