For teased hairstyles on smooth hair that tends to fall out of a tease, I recommend adding some dry shampoo powder or even cornstarch dusted at the scalp to help give the hair a bit more grip. Also, try the hairstyle on day-old hair instead of freshly washed. People of Anne's day usually washed their hair only once a week, so these hairstyles are made to work well with what we would consider "dirty" hair.
I have gotten to where I only wash my hair with shampoo about once a month, and I let it get greasy between. I use dry shampoo a couple times a week to keep the excess grease at bay and rinse in the shower a couple times a week to keep the smell down. My hair is the healthiest it’s ever been. It’s so soft and never gets badly tangled (rarely gets tangled at all). I also sleep with a satin night cap too, which helps preserve any curls I may have added (with foam rollers, not heat), and protects from damage and tangling that I used to get from cotton pillowcases. I have found that greasy hair doesn’t tend to have as many fly away hairs as clean hair does, and it makes for lovely braids when I feel like doing that.
Ahh! How can I show you that I LOVE LOVE LOVE this!! Anne of Green Gables is my FAVE book ever. I really appreciate when non-Canadians enjoy Lucy Maud Montgomery as much as I do.
I think there was an audition video on here of Megan Follows for the role of Anne, and after watching it it just confirms there could never have been a better actress for that role. She nailed it.
I grew up with the 1980s Anne of Green Gable movies, and I always wondered how she did her hair like that! Now, at 24, I can finally do it for myself!! Thank you so much for posting this video to TH-cam and making other girls’ dreams come true 🥹
I love Meagan follows!! One of my favorite actresses ever!! I enjoyed how they made her softer and more beautifully feminine as they grew her character in the pbs series. She was so gorgeous. Thank you. I always wondered how they did her hair
Anne of green gables books and show was my childhood , matter of fact PBS was one of the only channels I can ever remember watching. Thanks for this !!
I would love to see you recreate Liesel Meminger from 'The Book Thief'😊 I loved the book, the fact that it was set in Germany in the 1940's and in the movie, Liesel has so many amazing hairstyles😍 Would love to see your take on her!💕
One of my favorite book series and favorite authors! I remember when the Meghan Follows Anne movies first came out...wonderfully done, they did a beautiful job bringing the characters to life! Nice video, you do a great job with all your videos, thank you!
Thank you so much for posting this! I grew up reading all the books and watching so many movies of her. Megan Follows definitely did it best, in my oppinion. She made such an unusual character seem natural!
I love Anne of Green Gables. She reminds me of myself a little bit. I love how strong and confident she is! Besides the Bible Anne of Green Gables is by far my favorite
L.M Montgomery and Anne of Green Gables is very close to my heart ❤️ My mom named me Kilmeny after the book "Kilmeny of the Orchard" by Lucy so I grew up reading ALL of these books. This was an amazing hair transformation 👍🏾🙂
Glad I stumbled onto your videos. I have always wondered how to create this hairstyle. I have only ever managed it on accident, after putting my hair into a bun before bed and waking with it all loosened. LOL!
Hello, I just wanted to say something quickly. Your channel, (and of course you), inspired me so much. I was blown away of how mature and easy to understand you are. You seem so confident, and I had really wanted to start making videos for quite some time, but always thought people would just say horrible things. But when I starting watching your videos I put all of that aside and decided to go along with it. Thank you for being an amazing role model and a great TH-camr!
I just finally managed to find the trilogy online and nearly watched all of the 6 parts. I've seen your tutorial on Empress Elizabeth a couple of months ago and that's when you caught my attention. I love the movies and all there is to Anne's story and I am going to try out this hairstyle right away tomorrow! Great job and it suits you so well! 🌼 You're very pretty 🍃
There's Diane de Poitiers, she was the educator and later long-term mistress of Henry the IV of France. She was famous for bathing daily in cold water, and remained youthful-looking into her 40's and 50's, at a time when women started to look old around 20...
i love anne ❤. random tip, forehead freckles will look much more natural at the top of the forehead, where you would put bronzer, because of course the sun would hit here
OMG!! Thank you soooo much for doing this video!! I absolutely love Anne of Green Gables and have always wanted to know how to do my hair like that, it looks gorgeous! You did such a great job. Thank you!! :)
I second another viewer to say please do Claire Fraser from Outlander! Love the character and books plus love the beautiful actress who plays her. She has some great looks from the 1st season in 1940s then 18th century Scotland and 2nd season in Paris. Thanks and love your videos!
Thank you so much!!! I love the movie and the books and the hairstyles, you really did a good job recreating her iconic look. Could you do maybe merilyn monroe?
Another amazing tutorial!!! I LOVE Anne!! For your next Beauty Beacons video, could you do Nell Gwynn? I know she's not a fictional person but I'd love to see her look!
thank you so much for this video, I'm actually reading Anne of Green Gables in English (I'm not a native speaker) and I love Megan Follows, I always wondered how they made her hair in the movies! ❤
In the winter when my natural freckles start to fade, I sometimes "powder" on some fake freckles just like this. I just love my freckles so much and I get sad when they fade. ;) I have a small stipple brush that makes them look so natural
I love this look. Huge fan of the original miniseries... Simple and wonderous times... Life was short and love true. Life bloomed as slow as nature... How mankind is so disconnected...oh well 😔
I love the look & love that you are recreating iconic women in history! Although, not very pretty, I would love for you to recreate the look of Mary Todd Lincoln (minus some weight). Great job!
+ Loepsie Frieda Kahlo would be nice 🌤🐦....... sooooo talented and revolutionary in her look )the uni brow isn't necessary)..... just her hair and gorgeous with ribbons and braids. She was far more beautiful that she portrayed herself. She had amazing, flawless skin..... much like you do, Loepsie.
