You changed the gradient on the closer arm between the first video and this one. and wanted to know want your strategy was for making the gradients flow together more
Great series of videos thanks Alessandro. In trying the technique of using the 'Pressure' functionality to introduce line thickness variations, I found that my line wouldn't respond to any changes in the Pressure 'graph' settings. I think what happened is that I did the initial tracing in pencil mode rather than pen, with the Controller set to 'None' and that means that it is forever unresponsive to the Pressure function. It seems that if you want the pencil lines to respond to Pressure variation, the Controller has to be set right up front to 'Automatic' ! ?
Hey Alessandro, thanks for this nice video. Let me please ask this, how can I place an image on indirect angle of a mobile screen mockup? Let's say you have a mockup image of an iPhone in a hand or on a table with that indirect angle, is there a way to place an image to fit that iphone screen properly in Affinity Designer? Hi, thanks for watching. For now, you can only skew an image by pointing your mouse on the side of a selected rectangle (and wait for the double arrow cursor to appear), or by editing the S value in the transform panel. In the official roadmap, perspective and distort options are listed as upcoming features. Cheers
This is why I far prefer pencil sketches and washes or (for some) spontaneous oils to work with. You spend a lot of time to produce something with 25% of the original spirit. I just strongly dislike the style for sure. New Wave style art leaves a lot of room for expression of what gets overly simplified. Really - your talent with your pencil and pen and ink is marvelous. This is really ditzy. But thanks for the lessons - you are top notch.

Vector and raster graphics are completely different and as you well pointed out the style obviously doesn't match, but I don't think it's correct to compare the two and declare one better than the other. Different styles can be equally good and equally complex to achieve. Most likely your reaction is due to my lack of skills in properly reconstructing what I did with the pen, in vector form, but that doesn't mean one style is inferior to the other. In next videos anyway I will add all those small details I have in the drawing that will definitely improve the rendering of the character, but of course it'll be visually pretty different from the original.
