    For any new selectors, i ‘ve been selecting for. 2 1/2 years now…
    Tips for multiple sized boxes increase speed confidence knowledge
    - 9 point theory, there are 9 points of support on your pallet you should always have filled with each layer built
    4 corners, straight down the middle and across
    - large boxes on the outside, fill gaps with smaller boxes
    - what side you pick on , place it on that side or in the middle
    - keep like items (same size height together)
    - always keep back boxes straight unless grouped with same boxes
    - always use slip sheets (they act as resets, let you know your pallet flat or not
    - keep 4 corner cases around the same height, they’ll always level out

    I’m on my third day of training week (first time selecting in my life) and I have been constantly stacking horrible and of course my performance on each order has been awful. I had to endure many folks just stare at me and make comments as I’m going by my shift with orders. I was extremely depressed tonight due to my constant poor performance but this video picked me up. If you don't have, or can't use Blue or red wood pallets to compensate for the heavier orders, I advise doubling up the plastic pallets ( putting another one on top of the original one ). This is similar to doubling up a paper plate, It will help keep the pallet from bowing/bending over the forks.
    We have blue and red wood pallets where I work, but our time/work standard is so tight there isn't always time to drive around to grab them, and they are heavier/more difficult to man handle. Doubling up the plastic pallets is a quicker/easier solution.

    My pallets don’t come out this bad luckily but the biggest thing I struggle with when stacking is creating layers out of bigger boxes when they are different sizes. • @jadenweiss8099
    @jadenweiss8099 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I just started and it’s my second day on the floor. Let me tell you what I learned today about having your jacks too high while trying to swing around and unload in the docking lane, two pallets high. The top weight tipped and there went 181 cases, I foolishly thought I could save it from tipping over and ripped my thumbnail back a tad bit. I felt so bad cause it was in the busiest part of the warehouse, and where my thumbnail was pulled back, I was bleeding and didn’t want to touch the product to get it out the way, so I had to leave dress my wound and comeback to almost everything being picked up. I know it happens as a new hire but not being able to help was salt in the wound. Morale of the story: KEEP YOUR JACKS LOW AS POSSIBLE!!

    • @TheWarehouseSeries
      @TheWarehouseSeries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sorry to hear that happened to you. The reaction to catch falling product is one habit that is hard to break. Definitely take it nice and slow around corners. I can have the perfect pallet and I'm still mindful that I can drop it

    • @TheWarehouseSeries
      @TheWarehouseSeries  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Also watch having your forks too low because if you accidentally hit the down button it will not end well if your moving

    • @17Helton
      @17Helton ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also keep something on you to do a quick dress to stop the bleeding or prevent it from getting on the product or just all over the floor. People get weird nowadays about bleeding, coughing, runny nose, etc... back to your pallet just observe others when you get a chance to see what works and what doesn't as you are developing this new skill. Some learn quickly and some it takes awhile.

    Are your jacks all perfect? Our jacks get run into things and bent so if the pallet is all the way to the front your stack will lean back. Usually, they come at the beginning of the order, so I need to make a decision to use them as the foundation/first-second layer of my pallet, or I can skip and return to it later after I have picked up a few boxes first.
