For those who don't really understand Porco's death, let me explain: Marcel (Porco's brother) deceived the army to make Reiner a warrior to protect Porco. Later on Marcel saved Reiner and was eaten by a Titan instead of Reiner. Now finally Porco saw his brother's memories, he saved Reiner from giving up because if Falco had eaten Reiner then Reiner wouldn't be a warrior anymore and Marcel's whole effort and sacrifice would be in vain. So Porco sacrificed himself to atone for his brother by letting Falco eat him and his send-off was a last flex to Reiner. Truly one of the best and honorable deaths in AoT ever.
Porco also pulled a big brain move.
Had Falco eaten Reiner, they would have lost two warriors with Reiner AND Porco and made it so only its himself that is lost.
Likewise, by keeping Reiner alive, he ensured someone is left to keep tabs on Eren directly.

No matter which era this titan has found itself in, it will keep advancing to protect Reiner, for the sake of saving Reiner , it fights, it's name....is the Jaw Titan.
Man, Reiner outlived 3 seperate Jaw titans during his term. The Jaw titan is actually just a noob trap.

@@dozokhu7392 What makes it worse is that in a roundabout way all 3 deaths were a result of his failure. Marcel died saving him, Ymir was eaten after being brought back to Marley, and Galliard died fighting alongside him. It wasn't necessarily Reiner's fault, but Porco learning that Reiner was never even supposed to be a Warrior makes Porco's words lay some heavy guilt on Reiner's role in their defeat
I'm convinced that the armored Titan is destined to live until the new warriors are ready, cus why would Falco go after porco when Zeke ordered him to stop Reiner? Unless it's cus falco is a child like the gluttonous Titan who kept biting the guy even when Zeke said to wait, cus that Titan was a child too

Don't know if anyone else thought this but this scene crushed me so much more once I realized the armband he was forced to wear his whole life, that was equal to a shackle meant to show eldians they are devils, was not worn when he died. As he died he wore the wings of freedom on his back. He died free.
I don't know how to feel about that detail, he died... for the enemy?
@@doctorscalling9479 No, not really. But it's more about the symbolism of the wings of freedom, living life free and choosing on your own terms. Porco chose to sacrifice himself to save Reiner and Falco out of his own volition, he was always shown as a Warrior before who was enslaved to the idea that he never could be good enough, but him seeing and learning that he was good enough, but his brother protected him, set him free from his constant questioning if he was indeed good enough to be a Titan since he couldn't understand how Reiner beat him, and emboldened him to make that decision for himself, and save Falco and Reiner.
At least that's how I would word it. I don't know if I made any sense at all.

Porco was smart, his death literally saves Reiner. If Falco ate Reiner, Porco would still die.
I hate the fact that Isayama didn't show how Porco also loves those kids just like Reiner. Porco did flex on Reiner here, but the reason he died is to save Falco and be like his brother Marcel.
I hope we get a good ending soon, r.I.p porco, and other characters that died.

People go on about protecting Reiner but it's so much more than that.
Porco realized through his brothers memories that if not for Marcel, Reiner wouldn't even be in this situation where he struggles for life and death and be caught in this entire mess. Porco understood that Reiner shouldn't die here because his own brother caused a chain reaction which changed their lives for the worse. Marcel meant well but he threw Reiner into a cruel fate and Porco knows it was all for him.
Likewise, Porco also knows through Ymir that Reiner ran off alone when she killed Marcel.
Porco also pulled a strategic move.
Had Reiner let himself be eaten, they would have lost two people. Reiner and Porco.
Porco made sure it was only himself that died, protecting Falco and Reiner while also keeping somebody left to try and restrain Eren.
Likewise, Porco faced his death head on whereas Reiner ran off leaving his comrades behind.
This makes me realize how people go on about Porco and Jaw just kept losing. He was made for the Armor as Porco is willing to face death head on for others, making his mindset far more suitable to the Armor than a glass cannon like the Jaw. The Jaw just isn't suited for someone like this.
Also one of the reasons why he kept losing to eren is because he wasn't actually trained to fight titans, he was trained to fight humans and titans were supposed to be on his side while eren used his titan against other titans from day one + he only got to fight with eren twice so he wouldn't be able to understand his fighting style, however he made more damage to him than Reiner ever did in like 4 or 5 battels even though he knew eren personally and knew his fighting style. It just shows how strong poroco is using a titan that he wasn't actually trained to use to fight titans whom he wasn't also supposed to fight and still trying, it's just he's amazing really and a well written character.
The jaw titan is underrated because of the nutcracker scene. Imagine a smart guy using this titan, agility, speed, claws and jaw that can crush anything . Everybody sleeps on Porco beating eren at the beginning of Revelio. if mikasa didn t interfere, it would bé over for eren

It s maybe because of that , that they nerf him by Mikasa . And yes mikasa and Levi surprised porco , it wasn't fair, and also you can t blame a titan shifter to be beaten by Ackermann. Remember Zeke, the best marleyan warrior, being destroyed by Levi during multiple times. For me the jaw is the most beautiful titan to watch fighting , but sadly the story made porco the eternal loser. We can add the fact that porco was made for the armored because he likes to go in front of ennemie, meanwhile Marcel was Quick witted and so he was the best candidate for the Jaw. He could even been the best jaw titan if he had more time to live. Finally, everybody forgets that the jaw is the only titan which can break the cristal.

I love how while Porco says this he really is doing it because he understands the duty of the big brother now, to always protect the younger one. Zeke chose not to, Reiner failed, and Colt died trying. Marcel was the only one successful and Porco wouldn't let that legacy die. If no one else would protect Falco, he would.

I think Porco had stopped wanting to live after his brother died, but he kept going in order to be better than Reiner. But when Porco saw Marcel’s memories and realized that he was already better than Reiner, and that his brother simply didn’t want his life to be short, he saw no reason to let Reiner die a hero. He solidified his legacy over Reiner’s and also that of his families being true warriors.

I think the scene at 0:27 is legitimately one of the most heartbreaking scenes in tv history. And when it cut to Reiners face he literally had the exact same facial expression as I had watching it

as someone who has also dealt with those same suicidal thoughts that reiner has had, i find it one of the most emotional scenes in the series. so heartbreaking because while reiner wants to die and you can obviously see the pain and distress in gabi as she has to hopelessly watch as her cousins give into to his demons.

Many people named him dick or bully but for me Porco has been always loyal, caring and a true warrior... some people are like this... they just interact and show their feelings in a different way...In the end He still tried to look like a bully but the reality is... it was just to protect Reiner and save Falco... Porco was butthurt since he didnt become the armoured titan to fight alongside his brother and after 4 years reiner comes back just to say his brother died before they even started to infiltrate the walls. And all this because Reiner was not fit for the job. Thats what Porco assumed and to him it was all Reiners fault and he couldn't believe they chose him over the twin brother of Marcel who was over the top A-level warrior candidate. Porco felt betrayed by Reiner and marley. When he got the Jaw he felt like he could have brought the mission to success instead of Reiner. The 4 years period where the warrior squad fought the other nations after reiner's return was when Porco inherited the Jaw and was basically the Ace on the battle field given his agility and massive damage output. Reiner was the only Vanguard marley had (exept the pure titans ofc) he had to tank all the damage. Porco felt so justified by his superiority toward Reiner that it boosted Porco's idea of Reiner being a cheat. His view was ultimately shattered when he inherited the memories of his brother who let Reiner become a warrior despite being unfit for the job. He also admited some respect for Reiner when he fought the survey corps for the first time in liberio
Porco become my favorite character almost instantly…I loved how he would shit on Reiner ever chance he got, watching his fight scenes and the way he died was a boss.
This is one of the saddest things to happen for me in this part so far, but can we talk about the animation at 1:20? Like that camera angle change and the detail of Falco running towards Porco is just so clean.

This was one of my favorite scenes in the manga and I really love how beautifully it was adapted, Porco is a really interesting character especially in relation to Reiner and I this scene is just so brutally beautiful.
Falco's pure titan form is soo scary. The shape of it's body, the way it moves like a dinosaur, it's speed... It's all so well designed
I always found Falco's pure titan to be really creepy looking, and the anime captured him perfectly especially with the sounds he makes,

Before this was animated, i watched numerous animated manga shots here on yt and they used the song "Call of Silence" for this scene. But damn, this scene was absolutely perfect with the minimal sounds because it holds your breath as you watch the scene unfold. No tearful song. No heartbreaking lyrics. Just the silence and the impending horror after.
Loved watching Porco getting rekt every episode, he died like a CHAD by saying fuck you Reiner one last time.

One last “F U” to the world. Truly a legend
I was completely shocked. I actaully did not expect this, I wait every week for a new episode. And ive managed to avoid and dodge every spoiler, Besides the episodes ive watch. Damn i was upset, We may not have seen much about him. But he was a handsomr and pretty cool guy. He was passive agresive against reiner, But that has a reason. Im waiting till sunday now again for new episode, So thrilling

Marcel's plan backfires unironically. He wanted to protect proco from reducing his own lifespan, and facing the horrors of war. But by making Reiner a warrior he inadvertently forces that exact thing to happen. As a matter of fact, if you think about it, it was kind of unavoidable. Reiner being there was going to get either himself or one of the other shifters eaten or killed regardless, forcing them to retreat and being unable to complete the mission. Porco would have become a warrior no matter what, whether he became the armored in the first place, or Reiner's weakness causing the mission's failure.
Marcel wanted his brother Porco to live a full life, but them fighting Eren and the events that caused things to get this way in the first place are because of him aswell.
You could honestly just say, this is history righting itself.
Okay, but can we talk about how absolutely savage and massive Falco's titan is?
He's the same size of reiner armored (prob the 2 tallest PURE titan only losing to rod reiss)
It a shame to see Galliard to be gone so soon. Feels like he doesn't have enough screen time

It's interesting that in this episode both Porco and Reiner found acceptance and dignity with their deaths, and other characters also found dignity with their "deaths" while Bertholdt way back then didn't.

Ha! Galliard goes out like a badass giving his power to Falco! He earned my respect during the first half of the season simply for going toe to toe with Eren, but he has now become one of my favorite characters for doing this.
R.i.p Porco you're still one of the hottest characters in AOT
