    Great video
    I wonder why not all the tutorials are like this one straight to the point without 2 minutes introduction 😂

    This video rocks. Did both my fog lights with new LED bulbs in 10 minutes total. Don’t be afraid to get a plastic tool to help pry the guards out.

    I used to have an 2013 E70 xDrive35i and I wemt all out with the LED. Turn signals front and rear, fog lights, brake lights, licence plate light, reversing lights. It helped out modernize the car a bit at the time.

    Great video, thanks for uploading. Q: what about changing the whole light casing? My lens broke from a road pebble, so i have to change both the casing and the light. I’m going to check out the rest of your videos. Thanks again.

    I didn't know it was that easy....LOL! I took mine to a shop and they wanted to remove the whole bumper. Can you use H8's for replacement also or are the H11's recommended for the cornering assistance?

    • @allensgarage6266
      @allensgarage6266  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Malcolm, I do have the cornering light option with my fog lights. I use H11 and they work great. The H11 and H8 are interchangeable. As for a shop wanting to remove the front bumper thats crazy! I wander what they would have charged for that bulb replacement? All of the bulbs on the E70 x5 are really easy to change. I will eventually be making more videos on other bulb replacement for this vehicle. I hope this video helped you!

      You have to at least pull the passenger side loose on a diesel because of the def tank. No room to get to the bulb.

    Do the fog lights stay on in the daytime if you leave the switch on? I want to change mine to LED and wire them so they’ll be on whenever the car is on. Not sure if it’ll throw an error.

    • @allensgarage6266
      @allensgarage6266  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Files Shared , you should be able to wire them that way without any issues. The only way mine stay on is if the head lights or marker lights are on.

    Can I use an LED without the ballast ?

    • @allensgarage6266
      @allensgarage6266  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you’re talking about the fog lights then yea you should be able to use a led bulb with zero issues. There is no ballast with my fog lights. There is a ballast with the xenon head lights and if you’re referring to those im not sure if the led would be possible. If so I’d like to know.

      @@allensgarage6266 My OEMs are working fine on 2012 35d, I just wanted to know if I could get OEMs replaced with LED bulbs, some LEDs often don't fit right because of built in fans.

    • @allensgarage6266

      @@ImonRashid leds should fit even with the fan. I have used led bulbs for the halo lights. I believe they should fit any of the other lights.

    Do you know how to change it on a 2008 X3? Thanks my passenger fog light is out. Your videos are so helpful as a female who always gets the runaround from car shops being able to look at things and do it myself is much appreciated

    • @allensgarage6266
      @allensgarage6266  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      First I'd like to thank you for the kind words! Next, I don't have a video for the X3 but the 1st step is to pry out the plastic trim around the fog light. 2nd step is to remove the 3 philips head screws holding the fog light in place. 3rd step is to remove the fog light disconnect the connector and replace bulb. The bulb size will be a 9006 Halogen 12v (55w). Then reinstall in the reverse order. I hope this helps!

      I can buy a case of beer and a whole bag of cheeseburgers with the money I save, and choose the exact lumens, bulb type, and color temperature of the replacement by doing it myself. Men control who touches their ride and what equipment goes into it. Have your testosterone checked ASAP!

      @@allensgarage6266 hey im looking to finally change mine out, I noticed a few days ago the current lights get blistering hot, i pulled into a parking spot and left the truck on with the wheel slightly turned which left the fog /cornering light on... when i came back out of the store i looked down and a thin bit of smoke was coming from around
      the housing it was so hot. Did you notice if the yellow replacement bulbs get hot like this?

      @@allensgarage6266 I noticed you used a 55W Nokya bulb. Can I use any other wattage? I have a 100W Nokya bulb set that's blue.

    • @allensgarage6266
      @allensgarage6266  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sure you could get away with using a 100w bulb. If I could have found the Nokia yellows in 100w I would have tried that. The only issue it could cause would be from additional heat from the bulb but I’m sure it would be fine.
