We have one man in this area that works on the Duramax and Allison transmission computers and he is so busy hard to get this stuff fixed. Even the Chevy dealers don't work on them. Lol.
Wtf....... I bought mine with same issue. I replaced the tcm but I'll ship that back because that wasn't it and now I'm going to put on the transmission range switch on side of transmission. But just in case, I will go ahead and order that switch that you did. Who knows it just may be the issue and I can't afford to be waiting on each issue I fix like you went through. Thanks bud
@@elNitemare shop told me may as well get the trans rebuilt my tune 5 limped the heck out of my 5th gear got a incorrect ratio 5th gear code but I don’t have 9k laying around atm so I’m still driving but on stock tune
@@justinhoogstra8686 is it in limp mode? If it is I might be able to help. Mine was limping and I cleaned the wiring harness connection at the transmission, that fixed it for me, but I don’t really know about yoy
I have a 2002 lb7/Allison 1000. Lately its started slipping out of gear when I hit a bump. Its usually at low rpms going around 70 mph. I have heard that the ignition switch could be the fix or the speed sensors. Anyone ever had this issue? Thanks for any help.
It was the famous pump rub issue. GM should have been made to do a recall on this issue. Pump rubbed a hole in the case .$1200 later and different transfer case w/pump rub block installed, its fixed.
@@aidanvelthuis1267 throwing everything lol service 4wd abs light check engine windows wont work sometimes wireless remote wont work sometimes bad ignition switch or when installed not fully inserted by factory or when was once replaced there cheap junk and they go bad
i got that error today in my 2005 2500 duramax / allison. I smell burnt trans fluid. I am going to try this. It will go in reverse and work fine but no forward motion. I thought Allison Trans were bullet proof. Not any more.
@@drjawood Bad news Buddy..... I was driving into town. And it stopped. No Forward ....no reverse. Called my Cousin and he brought his car hauler. Had to replace Trans for $4100.00. From now on as soon as I get a used vehicle ...i change the oil and the trans fluid. i think it had a clogged filter. Sorry to bring bad news.

Ignition switch 3 times since 15 years of ownership .Replaced it for the first time today and it's working great. 30 mins total.

I am having this issue plus my truck won’t move/go into gear in less the trans temp is above 120 degrees wondering if this could be part of the issue

The light under the PRND321? Probably the neutral safety switch
I’m looking at buying an 03 duramax it starts but when you go to put it into gear the kid is telling me that it’s the tcm not sure what to do
If it’s a duramax there is a 99.99% chance that it is wiring, not tcm
What tool did you use to undo the screws? Phillips? Allen? You didn’t say?

Did you hear any loud clunks when changing to drive or reverse?
I sure do on mine. I’ve tried this, which helped the range shift inhibited, but it is in limp mode. I’m baffled

Stupid question I have a 2004.5 lly duramax with the same problem would their be any difference between the two ?

I had issues also. Finally had the service done. The internal filter malfunctioned and blew out the side.
The same thing happend to my truck I was able to drive but I couldn't get reverse it's working know. Should I be concerned about it?

The previous owner might have had a tuner on it and had been beating the shit out of the transmission.
Getting the same issues was it also giving service brake system?
