Emily really designed a “Hank” space. If you look at the other things, she’s done, they are very much not in the style of Hank. It speaks so much to her versatility that she is able to create such abstract fluid works, and also something so boxy and uniquely Hank.
I remember when she did her first design of the space and it was more her, and Hank said "respectfully I need to give you a lot more brief" and then she came back with this! Both sides communicated so well!

I love how it's a modern, whimsical take on an old-school study from like the 1800s. Like, I can imagine Hank in a smoking jacket while editing in there.
The wood everywhere is what really seals it. Classic.

As someone who's had "too many shelves" at separate times in my life, I can tell you they will get filled pretty quickly. I don't know how it happens, it's like magic, but somehow the empty spaces find things to fill them 😅

I audibly gasped when the clap transition happened. Such a big change! Seems very cool but it's surprisingly disconcerting to see you in such a different space.

Hank just makes me smile really, really big when he shares something he loves.

When you're a kid and you think you'll make your room look exactly how you want it to when you grow up, this is it.
What an adventure. It must feel so empowering, knowing that you can move the party to a slightly different location whenever you may feel a desire to do so.
It'll take some time to get used to, but it does look fantastic. The background of your office was almost like a character in this community. It evolved and grew along with us all. saying goodbye to it is like losing a friend in a way. I'm happy for your new office, but i'll miss the old one, too.
It's a fantastic office all around but my personal favorite thing is that the map of the realm of Narnia is still in frame. That's some serious vlogbrothers/Nerdfighter history there and I would have been very sad to lose it.
Yeah, it's crucial that the new set maintains the elements of the old one. This way, it still has the same heart.
I love how he had some genuine nervousness and anxiety as we all do before a big change, but the voice time change and excitement after just shows how great it is! So happy for you Hank, it looks great and Emily and Jack did an amazing job!! The spaces we occupy our time in are more important than most of us give credit to.

I'm glad we still get to see the Narnia map, because I'm emotionally invested in the Narnia map and didn't even know it.
What a great office! It looks esthetically pleasing, fits your personality, and it's also functional. I feel like that combination rarely happens in work spaces.

I generally prefer pretty open spaces for myself, but there’s something about this design that gives me GREAT brain feelings. Crowded in all the right ways, controlled chaos, so many good lines, all of your colourful belongings set off against the warm backdrop, and everything super practical and personalised. It’s just so good! ❤️
Hank I want you to know that I am also very happy about the storage space on top of the microscopy cave. You are not alone in your appreciation of such wonderful object-holding-capacity!

I’ve been following Emily on tiktok and TH-cam for awhile now and I remember when she showed us the first drawing, which wasn’t even this design, but this is what it evolved to. It’s awesome seeing you moved in and living in the space. I personally don’t like staged, never lived in, no personality spaces so I appreciate you giving us the tour after all your stuff is moved in and you’ve gotten to live in it for a bit. I don’t think I would enjoy it as much just seeing the bones without all your stuff. It’s a gorgeous and beautifully done space, and I’m not saying I don’t like her design, I freaking love it.

I’m in Germany and it’s late almost midnight here and I felt weird and somehow, vlogbrothers notifications have a way of popping up on my phone just when I need it. Thank you for being such a nice, positive constant in my life. I hope you’ll have a wonderful time in your new office!
As someone with severe dust allergies, this gives me anxiety 😂 But as an artist, I love it anyway. This is so cool and totally unique!
It's great that Hank is so excited about something simple and relatable. One of my pet peeves is when influencers flaunt exorbitant lifestyles that are beyond the reach of most of their followers. I would have been put off if he was giddy about a new yacht. But we can all dream about one day having a microscopy room, bins, and wanky shelving.

Hank, there's nothing wrong or stupid about this being emotional. Change, even small and seemingly unimportant change, can be difficult, especially for folks like us who aren't exactly the "typical" kind of "neuro". It's gonna take me a long time to make the mental adjustment to seeing something new in the background of your videos, for the first time in eight years(!!!). But it's a helluvan office, and I'm so glad you love it so much! As time goes on, I'm confident we'll all grow to love it too

Never thought I'd be so excited for a tour of an office but you've managed to do that, when you showed around the old office my mind was like "Hank, please let me clean your mess and put it in shelves, please." Then seeing the new office and how perfectly everything is organized + your excitement over it. Looks like paradise.

I remember that initial TikTok interaction! I’m so glad you’re happy with the results! Super adhd friendly design concepts for other people to consider: everything you need being visible and in reach where you’re going to need them; separate and discrete spaces for different tasks, “landmarks” for where you put that thing in your office.
OH MY GOD the french cleat wall is EVERYTHING I need that in my house right this moment omg. Also the microscopy nook is sooo good!!! I get sensory overload a lot of the time and I would LOVE a sensory deprivation spot like that. I would make it a reading or knitting nook I think.
Oh, to have money and a permanent place to live that you can design just how you like it! Maybe one day, a girl can dream.

This… is beautiful. So satisfying seeing a well-organized room. Amazing work Emily and Jack! Also, near the beginning Hank invalidates his sadness at seeing the old setup be disassembled and… no. It isn’t silly, you got used to it and so feel something about it, makes perfect sense.
Designing one’s space is important. Not just for efficiency and pragmatism but also so it feels like a place you want to be in. Congrats!
Sometimes when stuff like this happens it takes a while to adjust but this is just beautiful

I could not be happier for you - this space is a hug 🤗 in spacial organizational form. I love that it has space for all segments of who you are now - writer, creator, Orin's Dad etc.... and not Hank of 10 years ago because you have evolved

I don’t know if I’ve ever been more excited to watch a Vlogbrothers video. I saw the original video that Emily Reyna made of the original design she had for this office on my For You Page and started following her. Even though I’ve been seeing all the updates, it’s just so crazy to see that design I got so used to seeing as 2D images be real!!!
Nice! Maybe hang some sound absorption panels from the ceiling to cut down on the echo though! (Thicker panels help with low frequencies and are more natural sounding)

I like your new space! Very well-thought out. I like that it looks like a workshop, not just a typical office. The bins remind me of the bins in my dad's little workspace when I was growing up (he did electronics stuff). Maybe that's why it looks workshop-like to me.

This is so good I love it! Honestly, the closest to any sort of issue is, I was a (the?) really big fan of GamesWithHank, it is still regular comfort viewing for me, and I will kinda miss the secret knowledge that set is just hanging out in the unseen background of Vlogbrothers videos.
BUT! You have a drum cave! I learned about French cleat walls! This rules. Massive level up. All applause.
It's never silly to have emotions Hank! This has been a meaningful space for all of us and change can be scary. So excited for this new journey!
This is my dream office/Hobbie space. Absolutely love it. It motivates me to keep working on sorting my living space. I do get overwhelmed, but thank you for the inspiration Hank! And thank you for not being over the top clean and minimalist like so many others.

I love that Hank after years of just existing in a space with all his stiff made the space his own. Like I look at that room and I think yeah that's Hank Green's office. Also Narnia is still on the wall, I love the shelves (I don't know if I could even I've with that but I think in some else's space It looks great) and of course Beans.
I am weirdly in love with the floating filing cabinet, Hank.
Also I don't know why but I'm also tempted to turn the microscopy nook (or the drum nook, I suppose) into a convertible soundproof booth for your future VO / VA work - I assume you will inevitably write another book, and inevitably read the audiobook version of it, and you're gonna need a booth! 😂
