  • Today Architectural Digest brings you to the coast of the Indian Ocean in Kenya to visit supermodel Naomi Campbell at her luxurious, airy villa. Life as a fashion trailblazer and industry icon in constant demand for years necessitates a place to get away and unwind, and the tranquil seaside town of Malindi proved to be the perfect spot. “It’s a very calming place,” says Campbell. “You don’t really want to be on the phone. You’re not trying to find a television. You just want to read and be with yourself.”

      She used to be spotted on the beaches of Malindi in the 90s with Flavio Briatore.... And she kept going back and became one with the locals. Fell in love with Kenya and Kenya fell in love with her. Eventually she bought land and built this gem.
      Malindi is a sleepy natural seaside village/town on the Kenyan coast away from the more touristy Mombasa, which is why Naomi is so comfortable there.
      No one bothers her.
      It's dreamy with its mix of not only African; but Italian, Arabic and Indian cultural influences . All the cultures that found themselves on those shores through the centuries.
      I lived in Kenya for 10 years and my brothers baby's mother is from Malindi. When we went to visit her home I remember already being an adoring fan of Naomi Campbell; my treasured collection of Vogues were those she was in the pages of, which was every Vogue lol.
      When I heard the stories of how she's always there in Malindi, on the beach freely or in the markets I remember stalking the beaches and markets hoping to get a glimpse of one of the most beautiful women in the world. I was 18 years old.

      That’s because they paid her millions to do so, she doesn’t do it out of the kindness of her heart. She has worn blood diamonds and dated people who have done bad things to Africa. Also, this is a hotel, not her house. She lied to AD and the public lol, and this episode was later exposed. Everything she says in this video is a lie. You can even see the non-smoking and emergency signs, and other guests in the background. I mean, she even talks about the buffet breakfast room lol - that’s there for the hotel guests! 😂

      @Nobody cares it can also be the worse. It's not trolling if you have traveled the world. Theres more to education and medicine. Education and medicine is not free. And medicine is not that great if you compare other countries. Russia has the best eye surgeons, korea has the best plastic surgeons and Thailand has the best sex change surgeons. If you do plastic surgery in America you get RIP off by paying 100x the price plus you end up looking like a clown. No Americas get the best education. The best goes to foreign students who pays. Americans get the worse free state education and healthcare.

    • @SimonCU
      @SimonCU 3 ปีที่แล้ว +29

      @Nobody cares and most Americans education is the worse.. they only speak 1 language and they have no idea about other culture. That's why you have no idea about other countries. You need to travel or you be brainwashed by your propaganda. Many in America thinks like people in N Korea. Isolated and know nothing about the world but think they are the best. Once u travel you he amazed what is outside of america.

      Anything that dries you out will cause wrinkles. Look what happens to a plant when you don’t water it...it droops, shrivels up and goes brown. To keep your skin plump and line free you need to stay hydrated, minimise sun exposure (the right amount of vitamin D is fine, don’t overdo it), keep your body lubricated from the inside by eating lots of good fats: avocado, olives, coconut oil, egg yolks, oily fish and as soon as you dry off after a shower, slather your skin in moisturiser. Having a good skin barrier will minimise water loss and stop you drying out. Dryness causes wrinkles is all you need to remember.

      This couldn't be further from the truth. I have watched about 10 of these videos, and of the ones I have watched, I do not think I have seen anybody who knows less about their supposed home. It's almost as if the place got leased to make the video, which I don't hate, but that's what it looks like.
      Other than those few art pieces whose creator she mentioned is a teacher and whom she's met, so it's difficult to forget them, EVERYTHING else in this home of hers is pretty much turnkey. She found all of it already situated when she acquired the place and just started to live in it.
      I'll give you an example, that first table that she described as, "one-piece," unless we are just going to completely ignore what words mean, is actually NOT one-piece. It's a beautifully crafted table made from multiple pieces of lumber like most tables are, so that is, exhibit-A, somebody who does not know what they're talking about, but they do a good job of being confident and looking like they know what they're talking about when they are in front of people who know even less than them.
