    1st one of your vids I've watched. I want the Henry Big Boy Steel CCH in .357/.38sp. Adding the loading gate, but keeping the tube loading feature is the best of both worlds and a genius move IMHO. It seems so obvious now. I always wanted Henry to add side loading gates to their rifles, but to be honest I never thought about having both. I will be purchasing my new Henry as soon as I can locate one. I love 1873 Winchesters old and new. And I think the Uberti 1873's are nice as well. However; Winchester's are made in Japan and Uberti's in Italy I believe? And I imagine the quality of both are just fine. But I think we here at home should support American workers when possible. So, while I'd like to have several lever guns, I may never be able to justify owning more than one. If that's the case, then it's going to be a Henry!

    I bought the 30-30 a while back. No side gate. Put a mag tube through it. Went to reload and didn’t think about the heat. Actually dropped the tube. Sold it the next week. Just bought the 44 mag yesterday with side gate. Won’t ever buy another lever action without side gate! 😂 I’ll get another 30-30 for Christmas!

      Just to be fair, it is a voluntary recall and only the single shot models. Not that it means they get a pass, just want to clarify for any Henry owners out there.

      It looks much nicer than stainless in the flesh. I have one of these in .357 tube fed and a 1894 csbl in .44 and the Henry takes it in looks thanks to the coating. I’m British and even my anti/non shooting friends (in particular female friends) are desperate for a go. I call it the diplomat 😁

    My grandad had a .22 lever action, tube load Winchester lever action. It took 11 .22lr and 14 .22 shorts. Used to go rabbit hunting with it... Laying prone with subsonics loaded into it, you could rattle off a full tube into a group of rabbits before they realised why they were all falling over so much!

  • @johncashwell1024
    @johncashwell1024 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    With Henry offering the Side Loading Gate coupled with its traditional loading design, you really do get the best of both designs; faster loading/reloading and safe unloading. When I first saw that Henry's new side loader kept the old magazine spring/rod design, I thought: "why did they keep that!" It didn't take too long for me to see why they did and why it was a great decision.

    • @clinkencrew1806

    Absolutely LOVE my Henry........all but cleaning it. I have to watch a video every time I take that baby apart and have almost lost the little spring that simply rests on one of the parts inside. Hard to explain it, but when you break this open the trigger and leaver internal parts simply fall out all over. You then start the origami process of piecing it together, balancing the parts just right as you slide them slowly back in, then hope it all stays in place as you try to close it up. But, I would still buy another one. Just wish they could find a way to build that buttery smooth action without the craziness inside.
