Saba banana one of the secret of my lolo and lola for having a longer life.. both of them are into their 80's. They fried, boil or just plain eating it when it's ripe.. morning and merienda snak nila yan..
My favorite recipe for that short saba bananas is a beef stew with unpeeled saba bananas, peeled cut potatoes, whole cabbage leaves, pot of water, salt to taste, maybe carrots. Looks like bulalo with bananas. Favorite dish is rice with dinuguan manok or dinuguan baboy. Also whole eggplants fried with eggs and some bitter gourds. Try planting okra and mung beans in your garden, seems good for all seasons. Nice to see the dogs, cat, Isabella, Jane, and your friends too in your vlog.

Island food is organic, from the garden, and rich in minerals.
Garden cookout is a fun experience (putting aside those pesky mosquitoes) :-D. Maybe elevate your grill from the charcoal and spread the charcoal evenly, but lesser in the central part of the grill once they all get "activated" (for lack of an English word to use" :-) ). Slow, steady and balanced heat makes for a great BBQ. Is the lot behind you taken? Otherwise that would be a wonderful extension of your garden. More produce, better self sufficiency. Have a great & safe week folks.
It's a skill my friend and we Brits pride ourselves on being able to do a good BBQ. I'm letting the side down. Your advice is spot on and in the next week or so we will finalize our grill. In terms of lots... we will have some info very, very soon! Have a great week my friend 😊

We call that maruya in cebuano. Try to put a little sugar to your cornstarch or flour so the crust will taste good.

Looks like a delicious banana raft! Yes, A BBQ is always a fun time anywhere. Glad that your friends are enjoying with you. Fruits and vegetables given by a neighbor or relative are even more tasty and special I think. I think it's avocado season now, and that variety has been great for us too. Latundan bananas are our favorite.:) Sorry poor Creamy has some ticks. They show up from time to time. Much easier to spot on Creamy than Cookie I'll bet. Enjoy your lovely days and nights.

Get the ticks off the dogs. You can rub tea tree oil or rose oil on dogs' ears and around their bottom, this will keep ticks away.

It depends where you live and the neighbors etc. Same in every country in the world my friend. Our experiences of the provinces are wonderful people. Kind, honest and generous. Why live in the Philippines sheltered away from the real beautiful country? 😊

Hi Steve. We are still looking for Isabella. We have some really big things happening and hope to provide an update this month. So far I've only seen 1 snake and it had been killed by a dog. God bless you my friend 😊
@@AdamandJanesLifestyle : There are poisonous spitting cobras in Luzon and a few other islands. No other poisonous snakes on the other islands except for sea snakes in the sea and mangroves. That snake killed by the dog was probably harmless. However, there are a few rare pythons that can grow large.

hello Adam I have a question for you. which place you like most, ormoc or UK.?
I'd say Ormoc my friend however it's not that simple as I had so many great times in the UK. The UK will always be special to me. As far as living today then life in Ormoc is nicer than it was in today's UK 😊
Adam can I ask as a fellow Brit who is moving to the Philippines in Feb 2024 what VISA did you move to the Philippines with. I emailed the Philippine Embassy in London enquiring about 13A Non-Quota but they stated they do not do it in the UK anymore and I should apply in the Philippines. Any info?
You can apply for the 13A within the Philippines but should be able to do it in London too. You can enter under the balikbayan privilege for 12 months and apply for the 13A during that time otherwise my friend 😊

Adam, this Vlog shows Jane slicing bananas. As an amateur chef, I must tell you -- that knife is DULL!!! Please take a few minutes and sharpen it -- plus all other blades in her cutlery set -- she'll love you for it. BTW, little things like these mean a lot. Take it from me, I know.
