We call that a "diver's helmet" style distributor used up thru 1941. "Crab-style" cap was '42-'45 and '46-48 used a 2-piece, V-style distributor cap.
It looks like it might be possible to remove the entire clip assembly if that's a screw holding it it place. An allen head screw maybe?
That's a two-door sedan, not a coupe.
