Great video...I was born and raised in the poultry Industry....That being said, I love how caring you are about your Eggs, most farmers are not that way. Those are very healthy looking eggs!

You can replace the protective oil coating on your eggs after you wash them with a drop of mineral oil in the palm of your hand. Just roll the egg in your hand and the oil soaks right in. Can't even tell it's there.

I had a lady who was frustrated when she was the recipient of her Great Grandmother's recipe box. She couldn't get the baked goods to come out the way her Grandmother (who got the recipes from her mother) had. Just wasn't the same. I mentioned to her that those extra large and jumbo eggs you buy at the store are not what Great Grandma had running around the yard. Most of them were medium eggs. So, when the recipe called for 2 eggs and my friend used two store bought eggs she was probably putting the equivalent of 3- 4 eggs into the recipe. She bought some medium eggs and tried. Sure enough, that was the problem. She now buys the medium, large and jumbo assortment from me when I have them. Which hasn't been lately :( My hens are being freeloaders. Well, except the leghorns and Americanas :)

I buy my eggs from a local Farm lady and I always can't wait to open up the curtains to find out what kind of a rainbow I'm going to get. I don't know why that tickles me to death but I just love to see how many different colors and whether or not they have Speckles and stuff that are on them

I love all those colors! I just started with chicken and ducks. They are layings and now I'm out of egg cartons. I've been searching for a place to buy them. The prices are so different. Where do you get your cartons from? ??

Where do you buy your egg cartons to make it worth? With this new rule about fresh egg cartons in TN we need to add that price for the cartons on the eggs and it is almost no worth to sell them here where I live.
